Great location
100% of recent guests gave the location a 5-star rating.
This original settlement cabin, built in 1911, was completely restored and renovated in 2015. Our organic farm [search for Anker Farm], is located 10 min east of downtown Bend, and Mt Bachelor is 45 min away. The cabin has a completely fenced yard and we welcome well behaved dogs with open arms, but no cats.

The space
The 350 ft² cabin has a living room with a three seat sofa, a love seat and a large reading chair, as well as a separate bedroom with a queen bed, a full kitchen, and a bathroom with shower. The 1/8th of an acre space around the cabin is fully fenced for your dogs, and our barn has room for two horses or llamas if you want to bring them; boarding is $40 a day including hay and straw. The private deck in front of the cabin faces southeast with pasture views of our flock of sheep and herd of goats in summer.

Where you’ll be

Bend, Oregon, United States

Anker Farm is located 10 minutes due east of downtown Bend, just outside the city limits, south of highway 20, and within 2 miles from Safeway, Whole Foods, Costco, Walgreens & all kinds of other stores. In that same area there are several good restaurants, including Hola's east side [best margaritas in town], Baldy's BBQ, Jackson's corner East, El Caporal, etc. The farm is 11 acres in size and is surrounded by a residential area of houses with 1-3 acre lots.

Mac is from Holland originally, but has been in the US for a long time. A manufacturer by trade,he now primarily does farm work and product design. Nan is a PHD/ research scientist focussed on the natural environment specializing in climate change. We are organic farmers focused on on raising heritage breeds of farm animals, however we have plans to grow vegetables as well and we do produce goat milk.

During your stay

We live in the main house next door and usually someone is present to help with whatever. We are happy to help our guests figure out where to go, what all they can do in the area, you name it:) We will also be happy to let your dog(s) out a few times a day if you go skiing for the day and when it is too cold for them to spend the day outside or if you'd rather they don't spend the whole day outside when the weather is good.
