Our huge guest suite occupies the whole 3rd floor of our Fishtown home, steps to some of Philly's best new restaurants + GATED PARKING just outside the back door. Huge sunny bedroom, luxury Nectar Queen bed, large bathroom, great water pressure & toiletries, sitting room with huge TV, coffee & tea, mini fridge & giant balcony. LGBTQ friendly! We’re longtime hosts serious about keeping a clean home and we're looking forward to your visit!

The space

★ A whole-floor oasis atop our large and sunny row home, Hero's Castle is nearly 800 square feet across three rooms (the whole 3rd floor), warmly and comfortably furnished. The bright and airy bedroom has a queen-sized 14" Nectar deluxe memory foam mattress, comfortable arm chairs, and high thread count 100% cotton linens; your large private bathroom has great water pressure & toiletries! The private sitting room has a couch, an armchair, a huge 4K HDTV with full streaming options, coffee & tea bar, a table for working or sharing meals, and a small book collection, plus your private west-facing balcony the width of the house with comfortable outdoors chairs and a small table. The bedroom door locks with a key.

Gated parking behind the house is FREE with your booking (street parking is tough in such a popular neighborhood, and paid parking costs $20-$40/night). Considerate use of the kitchen is welcome, and we have a full time housekeeper to help us keep things neat. Check in is from 3pm-11pm, and just let us know the day before if you'd like to drop off/leave bags in the living room before or after check in or out! You can park from 1pm before check-in until 1pm after check-out (just let us know if you'll want to park before 3pm so we can activate your door code early). Check out is by 11am, and you're welcome to leave bags in the living room on the ground floor if you're spending some more time in Philly after your last night.

Fun! ★ Our location cannot be beat for our neighborhood - we're conveniently located in Olde Kensington, at the intersection of Fishtown, Northern Liberties & South Kensington, the center of trendy new dining just north of downtown. Steps from tons of restaurants & venues, our house is on a quiet residential block with friendly neighbors.

Highly convenient location for local food (scroll down for recommendations), cocktails & entertainment, as well as for getting downtown and to Old City, with the experience of a real neighborhood! Venues nearby include The Fillmore, Punchline, Kung Fu Necktie, Johnny Brenda's, Union Transfer, The Met and several others are a short ride away. Around the corner from a large Acme grocery store, and 3J's Fishtown is a great small market with gourmet groceries, prepared food & sandwiches, smoothies, and craft beer.

Minutes walk to tons of great bars and restaurants:

★ Front Street Cafe for everything from breakfast, vegan, meat-based, GF, DF and general foodie fare (great brunch, check hours during the winter)
★ Joe's Steaks for great cheese steak sandwiches and milkshakes

★ Pancho's Cafe has excellent authentic Mexican, run by a local family
★ Pizzeria Beddia, voted best pizza in America a few years ago!

Penn Treaty Park, Race Street Pier, Spruce Street Harbor Park and others are nearby along the river and are great on a beautiful day, and Morgan's Pier has great bar food and cocktails with a riverside view of the Ben Franklin Bridge and the boats on the river. With a little notice we can provide picnic blankets and help you coordinate grocery delivery! Bike rentals are also available near our house.
