Perched on a gentle hillside, HATA (“Home” in Ukrainian) is a one-of-a-kind architectural A-Frame nestled in the heart of the Joshua Tree desert.
The space
Framed by iconic Joshua trees and wide-open desert skies, HATA A-Frame reimagines the classic cabin through a contemporary architectural lens. Defined by soaring vaulted ceilings, expansive walls of glass, and warm natural materials, the home offers a quiet dialogue between architecture and the surrounding desert.
Designed by Anastasiya Dudik, whose work has been featured in Dwell, Designboom, Dezeen, and Hypebeast, HATA A-Frame is the sister property to the acclaimed HATA Dome. Together, the two homes explore a shared design philosophy rooted in simplicity, nature, and a deep connection to the high desert.
The Space
Designed to blur the line between indoors and out, the home opens onto a private outdoor retreat with a saltwater pool, cedar barrel sauna, hot tub, fire pit, and open-air dining beneath the stars. Inside, thoughtfully curated furnishings and floor-to-ceiling windows create spaces that feel both inviting and serene.
The open living area flows into a fully equipped chef's kitchen, inviting slow mornings over Wonder Lake Coffee, shared meals after a day of exploring, and relaxed evenings as the desert light fades.

Other things to note
Pets
We love welcoming well behaved dogs! A $120 pet fee per stay applies, with a maximum of 2 dogs. Please note that the property is not fully fenced, so we kindly ask that dogs remain on a leash while outdoors to help keep them safe from local wildlife. We also ask that you clean up after your pet and keep them off the furniture.
Kids
If you're traveling with children under 13, we offer an optional 5 foot pool safety fence for added peace of mind. The setup fee is $150. Please just let us know in advance if you require this setup.
Wildlife
One of the best parts of the desert is the wildlife! During your stay, you may spot roadrunners, rabbits, lizards, quail, and other native animals. We simply ask that you admire them from a safe distance and avoid approaching or feeding them.
Pool Heating
If you'd like the pool to be heated and ready for your arrival, just let us know at least 48 hours before check-in, as the pool heats at approximately 1°F per hour.
Pool heating is available for up to 84°F and requires a 2-day minimum at $300 per day ($600 minimum). The hot tub is always included at no additional charge.
Pool Service
To keep the pool and spa sparkling clean, our pool technician visits every Tuesday and Friday morning Our pool technician will go directly to the backyard to work on the pool in order to respect your privacy.
Photoshoots & Events
If you're planning a photoshoot, commercial production, or event, please reach out before booking. We'd love to discuss your plans! Please note that special rates and guidelines apply, and unauthorized events or commercial shoots are not permitted.
No Smoking
Smoking is not permitted inside the home or within 10 feet of the house. Smoke odors and residue require specialized cleaning, and additional cleaning fees will apply.
Quiet Hours
To help preserve the peaceful desert atmosphere and be respectful of our neighbors, quiet hours are from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM. During this time, we ask that all outdoor noise be kept to a minimum.
Occupancy
Our vacation rental permit allows a maximum of 8 overnight guests and 3 overnight vehicles, with up to 12 daytime guests and 6 vehicles.
These occupancy limits are required by the county and are strictly enforced. Violations may result in immediate termination of your reservation without a refund, and any county fines incurred will be the responsibility of the booking guest.
Liability Waiver
By booking this property and using any of the amenities, including the pool, spa, sauna, and other recreational features, you acknowledge that you do so at your own risk and agree to release the hosts from liability for any injuries, accidents, or losses that may occur during your stay.
