Freddy was a nice enough guy. He met us at the train station since the hostel was hard to find. However, the room we checked in had black mould. We took pictures of the mould. Freddy was reasonable and gave us a different room. This room was clean, but had a window panel missing in the bathroom and we can see into the next room and up to the sky! There was no roof covering! We could hear the couple next to us quite Clearly!!!! Location is close to everything and since it was on the Main Street, it gets pretty rowdy at night. We didn't have breakfast at the hostel. In any case, you pay for what you get.
We had a great time in Macchu Picchu thanks to Freddy. He helped us when we had some trouble with our reservation ticket to MP and packed breakfast at 5am when we were leaving to catch the bus. Hostel is located very close to restaurants so it was convenient for us. Recommend this place if are looking to crash for a few hours before kicking off to MP.
This is certainly much more on the hostel side of things than the BnB side. The rooms were fairly small and the detailing seemed a little slapdash, but for the money it was acceptable. Note that this place is pretty far "up the hill" in Aguas Calientes, so after a day of hiking it can also be a little far.
Our room was very basic and borderline clean. The sheets seemed a tiny bit damp. It was a bit noisy but it did the job for 1 night. The location was good and close to everything and only a 5min walk to the bus to Machu Picchu.
Freddy was warm and friendly. The bedding was clean though the room was a little musty and there was a bit of mold on the bathroom. It is well located, affordable, the wifi was fast (though not available in our bedroom) and Freddy was quick to respond - all of which was greatly appreciated. I would stay here again.
My stay at Pakarina was great. Freddy was really helpful, the room was clean and the shower hot. It was quiet at night and Freddy had a good breakfast ready in the morning.
Pakarina was great. Freddy made a last minute reservation for us and found us when we were lost in the street. It was very clean with warm water. The only problem we had was the next morning when we were looking for our bags, there was no one around to help us find them.
Great experience aside from that!
