We were greeted by our host upon our arrival. She made us feel welcome and went over the things we needed to know. The area is very convenient to the beach and amenities. The Pismo Beach Dune access was within 5 minutes of the house. The Pismo Beach Pier, Shopping Outlets, Wal-Mart and grocery stores were all within a 10-15 minute drive. There was also a play showing while we were in town which was also a two minute drive from the house. The house was immaculate, well taken care of, and had everything we needed. My husband and son took their dirt bikes down so they could ride on the dunes so it was very convenient to have access to the garage. The hosts answered all our questions and emails within a timely manner and answered all of our questions. We would definitely stay here again!!
We were there for 7 days and it was everything they said it was. The house was like brand new. I totally over packed. There was everything there from seasonings to bbq tools. We recommend bringing a baby gate because the living space is upstairs and it made it easier on the nerves. Our host were not only honest but very friendly. I personally haven't slept that good in years. The beds are awesome and you can here a pin drop at night. Yes. It is that quiet at night. The neighbors could use some tree trimming and you'd get a better view, but you can see the dunes. We could smell the ocean air and that was all we needed. Clean up was easy and we had no problems using anything. We also brought our crock pot and had dinner ready when we would return from our day of play. I loved having the balcony upstairs. You can wake up, go outside breathe in some fresh air and then move on to have your breakfast on the balcony as well. Very nice. Thank you again Harold and Margie for a wonderful stay!
What a great place to stay, cozy house with very comfortable beds, felt just like a home away from home. Had fun cooking in the kitchen and even used the barbecue one night. Great neighborhood, and nice and close to the beach. House is well kept and very clean, also host was very informative about how everything in the house worked and local amenities and attractions, would definitely stay here again.
We've just returned home after a 11 Beach home. The host's meet us at the house upon our arrival and explained everything about the house they were extremely helpful and friendly. They made us feel like we were part of the family.
The listing was listed as described. Good amount of space, good value, and use of the garage. We needed to have a place to put bikes and surfboards, so having the garage was really nice. The central coast has a lot to offer, and this place is fairly close to most of it. It is not a nice stroll to the beach, but the neighborhood is quiet, and seemed safe.
The DVD player did not work, and we had a hard time getting any local channels. Explicit directions about how to operate it would have been helpful. The sleep number bed deflated on my husband one night. Apparently the beds are 20 years old.
The hosts are very picky about everything. I would not recommend this place for a family or anyone who is not extremely neat. You need to wear socks on the carpet, and they expect to be reimbursed for spills and stains that take more than routine cleaning. If you want a worry free vacation, this is probably not your place.
There are some things this guest failed to mention. Her reservation was for 4 people. They blamed the brother-in-law for braking the handle on the BBQ which they left without paying for the damage. The brother-in-law was not part of the original reservation of 4. So the host doesn't really know how many people occupied the home.
This guest left the home unsecured by leaving the sliding glass door open, a window open and by leaving all the windows unlocked even where they were closed.
The above review is appreciated. We will address the items by category: Good - the house had not been burglarized. Bad - DVD player - there are instructions on how to use the DVD player in the house manual. Upon reading this review, the host discovered the cables on the DVD player had been switched by a previous guest. The instruction for operating the TV and listing for the local TV channels are also in the house manual. Sleep Number Bed - The statement about the Sleep Number bed was misconstrued.... Host told the guest they had been sleeping on a sleep number bed for over 20 years. The guest assumed it was the same bed. The host gave instructions to the guest by phone about proper operation of the bed which resolved the problem. The bed in question is still under factory warranty. At check in the guest did not want to take the time to discuss the operation of the sleep number beds. They arrived 4 and 1/2 hours late for check-in. Ugly - Host very picky - the guest knew in advance about not wearing shoes in the house. See the website for details.
Our host was so welcoming! The house was so clean and tidy! It felt like they were waiting just for us. Little things made it feel like we were home. It was such a cozy place, and the location in town was in great place to get to everywhere we wanted to see. The communication was awesome, I would recommend this home everyone I know, and I can't wait to return here for another visit in the future!
This townhouse was exactly as pictured and described......and also perfectly comfortable and spotlessly clean! We were greeted with friendliness, a thorough explanation of everything, and some unexpected, thoughtful generosity as well. (Thank you, hosts!) As we prepared all our meals (often eating outside on the patio), the outside grill, and new cookwear/sharp knives in the kitchen were so appreciated! And the use of the garage and remote control was great ~
This home is in a residential family neighborhood, with all the typical sounds one would hear in such.....and a pleasant rooster not too far away which was so kind as to not begin his day until 7am. For our family vacation with three older kids, this area was was perfect - not posh at all, but like a home(town)-away-from-home(town). Plenty of shopping close by to meet all your needs - yes some touristy, but mostly what you'd have in your own city.
We rode ATVs on the beach nearby (expensive but the best part of our trip), attended the Melodrama around the corner (highly recommended), took the drive to experience Solvang, and saw a just-out movie at the local theatre. As is usual with a beach vacation, sometimes the weather doesn't cooperate with swimming plans....but there was plenty to do for a few days, and we relaxed with a good book and a new puzzle when it was overcast and windy. Though the beach is close, it is not within walking distance....however, we had no problem with parking and access.
We recommend this listing and would like to express a big Thank You to our hosts for sharing their comfortable home.
