A woodland retreat in the heart of Chamonix
Traditional Alpine mazot newly refurbished in contemporary style. Wi-fi, tv, washing machine, private parking, amazing views, huge terrace, tres tranquil woodland setting but central Chamonix. Close to A40, 50mins Geneva, 20 mins Courmayeur, Italy.
A car is pretty essential in winter but in summer there are easy access walking tracks to town (10mins walk to nearest supermarket). Sleeps 2 comfortably (+child - travel cot available). Pet friendly (summer only) on application.
Ideal base for climbing, skiing, touring, hiking walking holidays, paragliding. Close to all ski areas of the Chamonix valley - Les Houches, Brevent, Flegere, Grand Montets, le Tour. In the summer the cabin is at the foot of the walking path to Cascade d'Ard, Glacier de Bossons, and the tracks to plan d'Aiguille and Montenvers.
The mazot provides studio accommodation for 2 adults (plus space for a child) comfortably. It has a sofa area and dining table on the ground floor, plus clothes storage and on the mezzanine a double bed area (please note: it accessed by a ceiling opening from the storage cubes you can see in the photo). The kitchen area is well equipped with a full sized oven and fridge, and 4 electric hob rings. There is a modern shower room with washing machine and the mazot has TV, UK Freeview and internet. There is a large storage space for equipment and the outside space is a large 45sq metre deck plus a grass area and the surrounding woodland with brook and spectacular views.
The stand alone cabin is set in a small enclave of other mazots, but is tranquil and unhindered by the hustle and hassle of the town centre.
There is private parking for two cars.
Thanks Sandie, we had a brilliant time at Chamonix and your cabin is the cutest!
The cabin was clean, comfy and the kitchen and shower were nicely and modern furnitured. I always like that idea. It lies at a cute park with a good view on the mountains. With one look outside you can easily estimate how the weather will be up there.
We liked the idea of having our own home instead of a small hotel room. The city centre, however, is walkable. But with lots of fresh snow, like we had (luckily :), it's not very accessible by foot. We used the car a lot. You need to be a bit flexible as well, to climb into the bed. But hey, if you can ski...
Overall we highly recommend this cabin, it's cute, clean and we simply had a great stay. And Sandie was a nice and friendly host.
The cabin was wonderful! Renovated interior made it very clean and comfortable. Location-wise, it was about a 20 minute walk from Chamonix sud, so having a car would be ideal. There are some taxi services in Chamonix for those without a vehicle. Sandie was an excellent host and I will definitely consider staying at her place again the future.
Sandie's mazot was great - all mod cons and stylishly decked out. Perfect location to take advantage of a number of the nearby peaks and even drive to Italy. A short walk into Chamonix centre where there's enough to keep you fed and watered for a week. Great kitchen facilities, wifi, cable TV and a selection of board games mean cozy nights in. And the mezzanine bed is v.comfy and easy to get up to. Sandie was great, kept in touch and gave us lots of useful insider knowledge - definitely recommend!
This is a lovely place to stay. The mazot has a warm, welcoming feel to it. The location is great - easy to get into Chamonix by car or on foot, and to everything else that the area has to offer. The mazot itself is warm, comfortable, quirky and well equipped. The sleeping area is a mattress on the floor of a mezzanine which you access through a hole in its floor via three storage cubes. We are not in the first flush of youth but pretty fit, however that might be an issue for some folks. But that's only about accessing the sleeping area; when you get there it is extremely comfortable and we slept well. The owner is very friendly and welcoming, and has a vast knowledge of the area which she is happy to share with you. All in all it was a great holiday and we would thoroughly recommend this accommodation.
We had an amazing holiday in Chamonix. The cabin was absolutely stunning and had everythiing we needed for our holiday. The location, surroundings and the cabin itself is top notch. We really enjoyed the views from the terrace and the cabin has everything you need for a holiday in Chamonix and it makes an excellent base for exploring the Mont Blanc massif and all the adventures Chamonix has to offer.
A lovely guest: it was a pleasure to meet her : )
Sandi was there to help and assist us during our stay.
the cabin is fantastic! tiny but cute and well equipped!!
we would recommend it and hope to be back soon!
LOVE the Chamonix masot and Sandie was one of the most helpful, gracious and down to earth host we've met in all of our Airbnb travels. We will go back to her comfy cabin!
We enjoyed Alendras cabin in Chamonix. Although quite small it has a large deck with a great view of Mt Blanc. Inside it has a small washer and the wifi and cable work great. The British cable was a treat for us to watch shows in English. My favorite aspect of our stay was the promiximity of trails to hike or run on right out the back door! You can easily access the trail to the Bosson Glacier and the route to the Plan de l'Aguille. The only drawback was that the walk to the Carrefour market was a good 20 minute walk one way. But on the good side you are away from Chamonix and it is very peaceful there. I would love to go back and stay again! Cheers Rob and Ann
