This entire private apartment will sleep 6 comfortably (based on 2 people per bed). There are 2 bedrooms with queen beds and the couch is a pull-out sofa bed with memory foam mattress. Surely, you will experience living in a fantastic apartment in NYC while saving a few bucks from pricey NYC hotels that are located in the heart of the tourist frenzy areas in midtown. It's very clean and has things no hotel can offer.
This is available for rentals of 3 nights or more. However, if you are seeking a stay only 1 or 2 nights, it is possible to do so, if it precedes or adds to an existing reservation.
The Building and Neighborhood: It's located on a fairly quiet street across from a school (quiet at night) and a road that has less than average travel. It's about a 2 minute walk to the nearest subway (L Train) and 1 minute to a bus.
The unit has a fully stocked kitchen: full size fridge/freezer, dishwasher, gas stove/oven, microwave, top of the line stainless cookware, utensils, dishware, glassware and decent closet space for luggage and clothing.
ADDITIONAL INFO / CHARGES:
A security deposit of $ 500 charged to the card you book it with a day before arrival, which you will get back at check out unless there are damaged or missing items, or if the apartment needs excessive cleaning or smells like cigarette smoke.
$ 307/night based on 4 people, 3 night minimum stay. I will allow stays less than 3 nights if they precede or add to an existing reservation. Stays on weekends only FRI - MON, it's an extra 50/night.
Extra people charges are $ 25/night per person after 4 people, with maximum of 6 people.
Cleaning charges: $ 100. For stays longer than 10 nights, an extra $ 100 cleaning charge as the house cleaner will come after the 7th night to clean the entire apartment and launder the sheets and towels. This fee will be paid directly to the house cleaner.
Linens: Clean when you arrive. If you wish to clean sheets while you are here, there is a laundry room in the basement to do yourself, or I can arrange to have my house cleaner come and she will charge you accordingly.
Breakfast Items: Included in price: Coffee, Tea, Juice, Fruits, Pastries or Bagels or Cereal, milk, jams, butter, etc.. I will take your order after you book it.
If you're interested in booking, please shoot me an inquiry with total # of people in your group, primary reason for coming to NYC and any other info you might think would be helpful for me to ensure my place accommodates your group perfectly.
It would also be helpful to state your level of interest and when you intend to book something to ensure a speedy response. I try as to respond as fast as possible, but if it's it's no rush on your end, please inform me.
Hope to see you soon!

Full, private 2 bedroom apartment, full kitchen, living room, bathroom and closets.
Please understand this is NOT a hotel! Daily maid services are not included. This is for use of a furnished apartment (bungalow) rental and loud noise will not be tolerated as there are full time tenants/neighbors that work normal business hours and my neighbors peace cannot and will not be disrupted. If you're a group of drinkers/clubbers who will be out late or loud, please do NOT inquire. Thank you very much.
The highly desired neighborhood is quite lively after the sun goes down. The East Village has been heavily built up over the last 5-10 years and located on the East side of Manhattan from 14th St down to Houston (same as street zero) which borders the LES (Lower East Side). Tompkins Square Park is 2 blocks away.
The East Village offers over 400 restaurants, cafes, bars, shopping and a beautiful park which has a few playgrounds for kids, basketball courts, dog run and plenty of benches and grassy areas to relax. You can walk to Indian, Russian, Italian, Mexican, Japanese, Chinese, Thai, Vegetarian and American restaurants within a 5 block radius. If you're too tired and beat up from touring NYC and don't feel like going anywhere, you can simply order in and have anything delivered to the room (usually until 11 pm or midnight). And these little privately owned restaurants are MUCH better than midtown/tourist-trap food chain places. There are at least three 24/hr places to eat within 2 blocks. About 90% of the buildings in the area are walk-ups and this has an elevator. There are about 50 restaurant/bars/cafe's within a 3 block radius and probably 500 within a 10 block radius.
Subway (L Train) is 2 blocks.
10 minute walk to Union Square to get every subway line.
Bus on the corner
Taxis everywhere, usually takes a minute or two standing in front of building.
I highly recommend walking. After living here in NYC for 10 years (and 20 years in the suburbs always visiting), I've found it pretty much takes 20-40 minutes to get anywhere in Manhattan, FROM anywhere in Manhattan. Walking is free, by far the safest way to travel and you get to see cool stuff along the way.
Other Things to Note
This apartment is child friendly! I have a pack-n-play for your use, small air mattress (children under 7 y/o) and parent control on the TV's.
Keep noise down after 11 PM during the week. There are full time resident neighbors who live here permanently and work Monday through Friday.
If you break something, you bought it.
Flexible CHECK IN / OUT. It all depends on whether guests are checking in or out the day you arrive/leave. Normally, if people are checking in the day you are leaving, you must check out by 12 Noon but you may keep your luggage safely stored until your flight leaves. If guests are checking out the day you check in, the house cleaner comes at 9 am or 12 noon, so depending on when the previous guest is leaving the place will be ready either @ 12 noon or 3 pm at the latest. If there are no guests checking in the day you are leaving, you may check out whenever you wish.
NO SMOKING CIGARETTES inside the apartment! There is an elevator to take down to go to building entrance. Sorry!
Nice neighborhood, and a flat in a perfect state for a rental. Everything ready in time. All necessary commodities. A very reliable owner. Generally very serious and very convenient.
We were 4 people visiting New York (2 couples) and were looking for a well placed, decent sized apartment for a 5 night stay and we were delighted by Bruce's place.
The location was brilliant. 3 minutes walk from the L Train subway and with countless bars and restaurants within walking distance. The area seemed youthful and safe and we were happy walking around at night. The Tenement Museum followed by a huge pastrami sandwich at Katz' Deli is a firm recommendation - less than 10 minutes walk.
The subway means that everywhere in Manhattan is easily accessible from the apartment.
Bruce was really informative and helpful before we arrived and was in regular email contact. Unfortunately as he was busy on our arrival night we didn't have the chance to meet him, but his girlfriend Cyndi was waiting for us to talk us through the neighbourhood and the apartment. The apartment fridge was well stocked with bagels milk juice and wine - all much appreciated :)
The apartment had everything we needed - 2 good sized bedrooms, big kitchen/living room. Towels, bedding, oven (we didn't use it - too many places to eat out) tea and coffee making facilities, fridge freezer etc.
This was my first air BnB experience - a very positive one. I'm only sorry we forgot to write in the guestbook on our last day as we left at 6am!
Bruce was a great host. His communication was superb and it is pretty obvious that he knows what he is doing when it comes to handling his properties. The apartment was exactly as described on the website with no surprises. We wanted to stay on the lower East side for several reasons including its proximity to Brooklyn. The subway station is very close and if you are close to the subway you are not far from anywhere in NYC. I must say that we have been to NYC about 10 times in the last 5 years and I find New Yorkers to be some of the most friendly and hospitable folks you will find anywhere. They seem to welcome visitors and they are proud of their city and want to make visitors comfortable.
We visited New York City with the four of us and we stayed in Bruce and Cyndi's appartment for three nights. Before our stay Bruce provided us with all the necessary information about the appartment, the neighbourhood and the city. This was very helpfull in the preparation of our trip and he responded very quickly to our questions. The location of the appartment is fantastic, it's a very nice neighbourhood with lots of bars and restaurants, nearby the metro station. Cyndi welcomed us with great hospitality and provided us with all the final information we needed to know to have a fantastic stay! Bruce and Cyndi, once again many thanks!
Bruce was so accommodating and we really enjoyed our stay! He met us at the apartment when we arrived and had everything all set for us - he thought of everything! The fridge and cabinets were stocked, beds made, plenty of towels, etc. The unit itself had plenty of room for 5 people and the location was perfect, on a quieter street across from a school and central to everything in the East Village. We would stay here again!
Bruce was very accommodating, our flight was delayed and he was very flexible with our times. Accommodation was clean and tidy with breakfast available. I definitely recommend this place as its in the east village, and if you love food and drink you're well catered for.

Update February 2014 - After 3 great years of success renting out rooms in my apartment, I now have another apartment for my painting studio / office to rent when I'm not working on a project, and I also take care of renting out my friend's apartment here in the East Village. Rather than looking through all my listings and confusing yourself, I suggest just shooting me a message and let me know your dates, the make up of your party (singles/couples/kids/grand peeps, sorry no pets) and any special needs you may desire. Take a look at my reviews and well, you'll get the picture!! I'll be delighted to add you to my wonderful guest list now topping 39 different countries!
As you'll see my original profile info below, I'm quite happy to say the last 3 years have been wonderful. I've met so many great people, both here and on my travels. Having me as your host, will certainly make your life easier here in the Big Apple. Pleasure, business or both I'm happy to share my vast NYC knowledge with you.
June 1, 2010: As a long time resident of NY, I've been living in NYC for the past 5 years, but grew up in the suburbs about 30 miles east on Long Island. Currently, I'm working as an Interior designer / General Contractor with an emphasis on performing the finish work myself and crew(s).
After traveling all around the U.S.A. for a Sales job for a few years after graduating college, I've learned a ton about the hospitality business, traveling in general and have how to treat people by doing my very best to surpass expectations. I provide excellent customer service, clean rooms in a great neighborhood, all in a beautiful apartment in the best city in the world, New York City!
