Our stay at Alessandro's began well, it was a little confusing on how our room was set-up it seemed that we lucked out with the largest room which was a double bed and a smaller sofa (which was converted into a bed). There were doors in the room which separated the two bedrooms. The room had a nice view and having a hammock was a nice touch. The toilet and shower are in separate rooms despite only one washroom it never seemed to be a problem between the other 2-4 guests we were staying with. Every morning there was a breakfast spread of cheeses, meats and baked goods with coffee which was a nice way to start the day. It was unfortunate that our final interaction was poor with Alessandro, when we first arrived to Barcelona we used the AirBnb 'Get Directions' which led us to a place around the corner of the actual AirBnb, Alessandro came and got us but seemed a little frustrated. This event ended up setting the tone for the rest of our interactions together. From his profile and comments on AirBnb it portrayed an outgoing person but felt very different in our experience. While he did give us a brief overview of where we were in the city he was quite strict on his house rules. On our last night there, we ended up hanging out with other guests who were staying at the same AirBnb. We had some drinks and played some cards for one of their birthdays in our room (as it was the largest). When we were done we cleaned, took out our garbages and empties and moved everything back to place and decided to go out for a smoke before calling it a night. Upon returning to the apartment Alessandro had confronted the other guests and told them they had to leave by the morning due to their loud volume (in the hallway) and what he considered to be a party (I believe they had 3 days left). He then came to our room told us because we were checking out in a few hours he wouldn't have to kick us out as well, then threatened to take security deposits (which was strange as we did not break or damage anything). Then shortly came back and threatened to charge us once again but for unclear reasons (probably from being upset). I understand his frustration as it was late but no one was out of line, even when later confronted. He could have just told us to be silent and we would have called it a night, I'm sure it would have been the same for the others. I think immediately kicking others out without any warning is a bit extreme for a single incident. Perhaps our experience was unique. If you decide to stay here just abide by the rules, and make minimal interactions with other guests while inside the AirBnb. There is a cafe downstairs where it would probably be...

The place was great, well situated close to public transport, but adition to that Alessandro gave us the use of the public bike system. It saved us a lot of money since the city has these bikes stations to pick up and drop off all around. Extremely valuable. More than a host, he is now our friend.

We stayed in several airbnb's in Bareclona but this was our absolute favorite. Alessandro was there when he said he would be...he made us an amazing breakfast... he helped us with bicycles...and the apartment was super cute and comfortable with a spectacular view. I cannot recommend this place enough. I wish we had stayed there longer.

The house is very central. Metro station is just in front of the building. transportation to everywhere by metro is very easy. 10 minutes by walking to Sagrada familia. Close to the restaurants. Alessandro is also a very interested and heplfull host. He welcomed us very warmly and give advices. the house is big, spacious and well decorated. The bed was comfortable. Alessandro prepeared breakfast every day and he also cleaned the house (Wc, bathroom). Only one disadvantage was the apartement is on a noisy street day and night. but it didnt a problem for us. We slept well. You should ask how many peaple will stay in the house before you reserve becouse there were other quests when we went. Totally we were 8 peaple and it was quite crowded. Anyway i strongyly recommend Alessandro's house for a great barcelona trip.

Alessandro's home is ideally located in the heart of Barcelona. The metro stop is just in front of the apartment and you are within a short walk of key sights including La Sagrada Familia. The apartment blends both funky retro design with spacious comfort. Alessandro is an extremely meticulous and attentive host. He met us at the apartment and made us feel immediately welcome. From the daily breakfasts he provided to arranging private transport to the airport, we couldn't have had asked for a better experience. Alessandro's superhost status is very well deserved as he goes above and beyond to make his guests feel at home. Thanks again Alessandro!

LIVE THE CITY AS A LOCAL DO... here some useful tips:

*Don't orden a beer, order a "CANYA" and you'll get a 25 cl glass of draught beer. When you make a toast, say "CHIN-CHIN" or "SALUT", salut is the top local toast!

* Locals will be thankful if you try to talk some spanish, but you will win their hearts if you do it in Catalan. Say "BON DIA" for goodmorning or "ADEU" for goodbye. Easy way to win their sympathy...if you chose it!!

* Natives love being outside, especially at night. Since smoking has been banned in bars, people tend to gather in front of bars and pubs. Watch your behavior at that time: yelling, singing, drinking alcohol, removing your shirt or pissing in the street can get you a juicy fine.

*Barcelona at night rocks from Monday to Sunday. The nightlife scene is so broad that even locals find it difficult to decide where to go. But locals have suffered several invasions of nightclubs, now they flee tourists and shouting Erasmus student. Remember: Las Ramblas is not only place to go out for a drink or dance!!!

*Spain is well know for his siesta and paella. Although some locals have taken both as a habit, neither, are typical in the region. Try "FIDEUA"!!!

*Here La Sangria is becoming an exclusive drink for teenagers and tourists. If you want to have a cool drink before eating, try the "VERMOUTH". If you want to celebrate, ask for "CAVA" (a catalan sparkling wine of Denominatio of Origin status).
