The space

Italian modernist furniture + Swiss architect = Less of an apartment and more like a piece of art!
This is a splendid 100 square meter studio very conveniently located in the building of the Comedy Theatre - in the liveliest and most charming area of historical Bucharest (yet very quiet and peaceful as the entrance to the apartment is made through an inner courtyard, protected against the street tumult).
Once here forget about taxis or public transportation, you wont's need any. There's an UNESCO Heritage XV century church just around the corner. The well known People's House and the Museum of Contemporary Art are within 10 minute walking distance. The Royal Palace, National Art Museum and Romanian Athenaeum are also 10 minutes away. Not to mention countless bars, clubs and restaurants - you will be provided with an 'insider list' otherwise there will be very tricky to choose the quality places.
The apartment is recently renovated, decorated with impeccable taste and fully equipped for your comfort. Speaking about comfort you will joyfully realize that the bathroom here is about twice as large than the usual hotel room in Paris. Ample spaces everywhere. Higher standard living.
Sorry no TV nor Eurosport channels but there's an audiophile music system and lots of real books. The studio was always inhabited by artists - actors, directors, painters and now by a touring musician who rents it when he is away but who is quite selective about his guests.
However, once you are inside - you will feel privileged in this bohemian, beautiful and vibrant home - not at all like an impersonal hotel room or like the usual ikea-furnished apartments available for rent.
Perfect for a romantic getaway in the Sunny Bucharest!

House Rules

I hate rules, but it will increase my listing performance if I fill in this 'house rules' field. So smoking is allowed, especially in the kitchen. Loud music is allowed since there are no neighbors near by. You can play the piano, or hit the music hi-fi music system. Just relax and feel at home in this charming studio and don't worry about rules!

I am disappointed to have to leave a less than stellar review, the first of its kind since I've traveled quite a bit; unfortunately, some things I cannot overlook. I'll start with the positive: Val is a nice guy, not sure if he owns the place or is just hosting but overall he was attentive to our needs and apologized for not having the apartment ready when we arrived. Val provided us with an extensive list of things we could visit and places to go eat, so he was super sweet in that regard. There was some confusion with where the place is actually located, and how to actually get to it. When you drive through Bucharest in the crazy traffic, it's not that easy to just find this place since it is dead smack in the middle of a car-free, historical district. The location is literally in the heart of old Bucharest, so you have tons of very nice restaurant and coffee shops, breweries, stores, and historical sites and museums right outside. The apartment is located inside the Theater of Comedy, so you can definitely try to catch some shows too while you're there. Val is an artist and have us some CDs with music, that was pretty epic! Overall a quirky place to be in, and a location that is definitely hard to beat. With that being said, the location could not be more perfect if you can overlook the following: These are in no specific order: The floor was dirty in the bathroom especially, hair and dirt from previous guests was visible and quite disgusting. Empty and dirty containers of soaps and random liquids, half burnt candles laying around, random things just strewn across...some of it was kind of cool and quirky, definitely gave that free-spirited artist vibe, if that's your thing. A really pungent stench of smoke everywhere inside the home, especially the bed which had a set of really old and pretty disgusting pillows. I am not a smoker, and although I can tolerate it, I don't want to inhale it while I'm sleeping. Although the sheets were clean, the comforter and pillows inside were old, dirty, and smelly. Not ok with me. This apt is on the top floor of a 4 story walk up, which actually was more like 5 stories because every two floors counted as one. This became incredibly difficult when it came to carrying our luggage up the stairs. The apartment is not listed on the door and we had to walk around quite a bit and knock at random doors, go back downstairs to ask people to try to identify which was the correct spot. I would not stay here again, because I can't overlook these things, but Val did say his cleaning lady was not available so he apologized. Regardless, just not my cup of tea for an AirBnB, even with the great location in mind.

The apartment is big and in a really good location, is quiet, clean and even if we didn't meet Valeriu in person, he was really helpful. But be ready to exercise your legs, because there is no elevator.

Can't complain on anything. Really nice and hip apartment with high ceilings in the very center of old town. Valeriu is a great host and everything went super smooth. If we had any questions Valeriu always answered within 5 minutes. Will definately come back!

Valeriu's apartment was perfect. It was extremely large and the decor was awesome. The location couldn't have been better. There are several great restaurants and stores just outside the door, and even locations that aren't directly in the old town are easy to get to from the apartment. Val gave great suggestions and was quick to respond to our messages which was greatly appreciated. Stay in this apartment, you won't regret it!

Valerius studio is nothing but amazing. We had a very hard trip from Sofia to Bucharest and we travelled 10 hours to get there. You can imagine that we were extremely tired and exhausted. As we entered the studio we were just mind-blown. It was big, clean and beautiful. The old furniture gives it a very nice flair. First thing to do when you get in is to play velerius IPod. That's what we did first and we got into a very relaxed mood and made us feel comfortable. Well, I don't want to spoiler you too much so just go for it. I guarantee you will love it. When we go to Bucharest another time, there will be no other option than Valeriu's Studio.

The appartment is really really nice! Valeriu is a great host, I met him to give me the keys. The communication was great. As location, it's perfect, exactly in the old town of the city center. It's a nice experience as a whole, the appartment. Thanks you, Valeriu, for everything!:)

Very cozy apartment with all the necessary for your stay exactly as you see on photos. Located in the heart of bucharest, you can reach almost any attraction by walk. Valeriu has been very kind and nice. The only thing to improve is cleaning.
