Our cosy, Scandinavian-style furnished apartment with a balcony is situated in the old part of Eilat among the locals away from the tourists.
Within 12 minutes' walk you reach the beach and downtown Eilat. Within 1 minute’s walk there is a typical Israeli, small supermarket. Next door to the supermarket you find a shop with delicious nuts and spices.
It is enjoyable having meals on the balcony watching the local people coming and going in the square. As the apartment is situated at the top floor, and you reach it only by the staircase, you can see the montains in Jordan, in Saudi Arabia, the outskirts of Eilat and parts of the city of Eilat.
If the sun is too bright you can use the sun umbrella. When too hot to sit outside it is possible to be chilled off inside by either the desert cooler or the air con.
The hallway is not so well kept, but as soon as you enter the apartment, you will find a place cared for. It has a warm and artistic atmosphere. The apartment has been in the family for 40 years. We love the place.
There is a spacious living room and 3 bedrooms:
a twin bedroom,
a triple bedroom,
a single room with a sink.
A baby bed is available.
The kitchen is equipped with what you need, including:
big fridge with freezer,
and much more.
From the balcony there is access to the roof from where there is a magnificent view to the mountains of Jordan and the Aqaba Bay. Especially by night when all the lights are on in Aqaba it is breathtaking.
In the living room there are games and books to be used.
Internet access is available, FREE.
Air con and desert cooler can be used when needed.
You can go on hiking tours into the extremely exciting desert. From the beach you can snorkel and see the most fantastic fish and corals. Two snorkelling sets are available. You can watch migratory birds and even a binocular is available.
From Eilat it takes 4 hours by car to reach Jerusalem and less than 2 hours to reach the Dead Sea. You can also go by plane – the airport is within walking distance from the apartment as it is placed downtown Eilat.
You can always call Nissim, who takes care of the apartment, if you need any kind of help.
I love the place as it is situated amidst local people from Eilat far away from the hotel area. And at the same time it just takes 12 minuttes walk to reach downtown and the beach.
There are busses, but taxis are cheap. The taxis are driving all the time down and up the street. You don't have to call for a taxi (except very early in the morning or late night), as you have to wait only a few minuttes before a vacent taxi is passing by.
The apartment was large and clean and Nissim was very friendly and helpful as he showed us around. It is an old style apartment but the mattresses are good. Really there is only one bathroom with the toilet and shower in separate rooms.. The kitchen is well equipped and it is near a small market. Street parking was easy. We were a family of 6 with 3 generations. I didn't realize it was a 3rd floor walk up, which we managed alright although a bit of a struggle with luggage. It is worth noting there is no television which didn't bother us but might have been useful for entertainment at night. All in all I much preferred it to the big fancy hotels of Eilat or the bare hostels.
Amazing big apartment with a holocaust survivor's story behind it. They were very nice and even carried our luggage to the apartment. Easy parking and access to hot spots!
We stayed one night at susan's apartment in Eilat. Although she was not in Israel and that we contacted her at very last minute (a day before!), she organized everything so that we could stay at her place. We were welcomed by a very nice person who provided us with everything we might need. The flat is well located, well furnished and clean. We were really glad to be here. Thank you Susan!
We were in Eilat for 4 days on a family vacation. The apartment was very nice and supplied everything we needed. The organization and the care for us were extraordinary; it included cold drinks in the refrigerator and home made cookies which were waiting for us on the table on the evening we came there.
Also we got immediate response to every problem or question we had.
The apartment is well lighten, comfortable and clean.
To be added to the pleasant place, we fortunately had the opportunity to meet and touch the amazing world of Olly Ritterband R.I.P., a holocaust, a writer and an artist, who was the owner of the apartment and had left there some of her amazing works of art.
The apartment was very nice, private and clean! We had 3 nice bedrooms and the living room was very nice to sit in the evening with friends. The balcony was nice to stay in evening/night and morning! In every room is air condition, that was very important because of more than 40°C outside! The appartment is about 10 minutes walk from beach and city, taxis to beach are cheap.
We didn't meet Susan there personally, because she lives not in Eilat. But her friend Nissim helped us with everything, he was very friendly and helped us so much. He bought us for our first day drinks and milk. He also recommended a very nice restaurant.
It was a great stay in Eilat!! Thank you Susan!!
