Our home and garden are on 2 acres of French countryside between Bordeaux and St Emilion on the edge of a small village overlooking vinyards and fields. Family heirlooms, antique french linens on comfortable beds, good books, a piano, all spiced with a collection of contempory art ...welcome our guests.
A former blacksmith shop, now living room, gave the house its name, La Forge, and much loving resauration work to the 18th Century building gave the results that you can enjoy today...a house that feels like home no matter what your nationality.
The main floor bedroom with an ensuite, skylit bath has a terrasse to the west and a private entrance from the courtyard.
Upstairs there are two suites with a bath and double bed. One is a family suite next to a children's room with 4 built in "lit clos" with adult size (email hidden)e two rooms share a bathroom with a deep antique clawfoot tub.
The other suite has a room with a double bed and a room with a large single bed that share a bathroom with a shower.
La Forge main floor living room, library, entrance hall and dining room all have comfortable places to enjoy music, read and gather to talk. There is always room in the fridge to keep tomorrow's picnic and the wine glasses and dishes may be used for you evening meal if you don't feel like going out for dinner every day.
There are garden tables and lounge chairs for relaxing and watching the birds...
For more exercise our private family pool is open to our guests at the Pey Froment farm annex just down the road 1 mile . It's nice to know that your children may zip up and down the paths of a fenced in field without having to worry about them jumping into the pool with all the usual swiming pool noise while you're enjoying a good book in the garden. There are also a few bikes that you my borrow or you can rent even better ones in Creon on the nearby 50 mile off the road bike path provides a wonderful way to discover the countryside and villages between Bordeaux and the heart of the Entre Deux Mers wine appelation.

Bruno and I were delighted to get to know you over dinner at our farm mill house while your family was at La Forge. With children and grand children of similar ages to my own it was a bit like having our family for a visit. I'm always happy to see the garden enjoyed as well as the house....and it was never left as impeccable as you left it. Merci...I'm looking forward to meeting up again in your Bretagne! Carol
We were very happy with our stay at La Forge and the hospitality of our host , Carol. Our group was from different parts of the world and we all came together to attend our close friends' Chateau wedding and to enjoy the 6th years reunion. La Forge was perfect for 11 adults and 7 kids to live like the locals. The house and garden were spacious and beautiful. The beddings and amenities were of good quality and convenience.
We also experienced a rare storm that cause power outage for 24 hours the first night and Carol was there to help us get through it comfortably.
La Forge will be remembered as part of our wonderful memories.
Thank you for a great time we shared.

I'm a french american who has been living in France most of my life. I've run a B&B for many years and I organise personalised specialty tours (cooking, wine, gardens, brocant and contempory art)... as well as being an agent for european performing artists who perform for children and family audiences in North America and Asia. My husband, Bruno, is a psychatrist in Bordeaux and a passionat cook and gardener. We both love working on our 14th and 18th century houses, we have a very messy wood shop where we seem to have never ending projects and every year we have new hopes for our gardens that keep us busy. However, we like to take time to enjoy my four children (who are spread out between several countrys) and our grandchildren... as well as our guests who often become good friends !
