The area of the district Sallustian is elegant and quiet, frequented mainly by locals, but at the same time a 10-minute walk from the main station of Rome "Termini Station".
The district lies on the "COLLE QUIRINALE", the highest of the seven on which the small indigenous communities Roman parties for the conquest of the known world of the time.
to testimony of these settlements so old (about 400 before Christ), a few steps from Via Flavia, in the square Sallustio, you can see the remains of the ancient Servian walls now almost all destroyed. The Servian Wall are located within the most recent and in good condition "Aurelian walls" built about 800 years later. A ten-minute walk from Via Flavia is the residence of the Italian president called "Quirinal palace". Since its square you can see a wonderful view of the ancient city of Rome with the Colosseum, the Pantheon, St. Peter, Sant'Angelo castle and the valley of the Tiber with the Diocletian Baths, Baths of Caracalla, the island in the valley tiiberina the blond river, the Tiber.

Fernando is the best host. He met us at the apartment and gave us so much assistance including maps, advice, pointing out best things to visit. His apartment is brilliant with everything we needed including washing, cooking, bath, shower etc. It's in a lovely area, great street with so many places to eat, drink, grocery, panetteria, cafe / pattiserie, fabulous gelato and pizza along with more regional food. Very close to good parts of town. Highly recommend it, we would stay again for sure.
I was traveling with my family, we were 8 people and it was perfect.
Lovely neighborhood with excellents restaurants and gelateria La Romana next door. The pizza place in front of the bulding is one of the best in Rome.
Fernando was very helpful from the beginning, he booked a taxi to pick us at the airport, gave us a citymap and all the informations regarding public transport, and walking routes.
Grazie Mille Fernando
Fernando is an excellent host. He made us feel comfortable & helped us with the maps and gave us sightseeing tips. The flat is in a great location & is very large & nicely maintained. If you are visiting Rome, I would definitely recommend this flat.
Fernando was an exceptional host and his home was lovely. A terrific location, a spacious, clean, welcome environment complete with air conditioning for those hot Roman nights and days. Fernando was so helpful, he even arranged for a taxi to and from the airport. He was gracious and thoughtful with tips for all the best pizza and gelato spots nearby. Such a great experience. Many thanks Fernando. You made our Roman holiday spectacular.
Amazing doesn't even begin to describe our experience in Rome! Fernando's home provides everything you could ask for and more. Great location, Spacious, clean and equipped with everything from wifi to air conditioning. Upon our arrival (which unfortunately was at 1.30am due to flight being delayed) Fernando was still there to greet us and show us around the apartment. He answered all questions and was always available to help out if needed. Couldn't ask for more. Highly recommend staying here.
Fernando made us feel very welcome. We had very good communication leading up to the trip and on the day we arrived. He helped us with our bags, showed us everything we needed to know about the flat and gave us useful a overview of local shops, bus stops, how to use the public transport and some suggested routes around the city. He was kind enough to provide a beautiful bowl of fruit and some other useful groceries. He even helped navigate me back to my car rental return and helped us with our trip back to the airport.
The flat is very comfortable, and very spacious. It has traditional features like the beautiful patterned stone floors, but also all modern conveniences (a very new kitchen with a big fridge/freezer and dishwasher, a spacious bathroom with washing machine/iron/ ironing board/clothes dryer). The WiFi appeased the children. We really appreciated the air con as we visited during a hot August.
The location is excellent. First, it was practical because there were several coffee bars, shops and restaurants in the adjacent streets (including maybe the best gelateria ever!) as well as a large supermarket 3 blocks away - easy walking distance. Second, it was practical because the central sites were all within walking distance (we did use public transport a few times but mostly because of the heat).
We arrived in Rome in a rental car and were able to park outside while we off-loaded luggage (for driving in to Rome I'd recommend coughing up for some phone data and using phone sat-nav. We tried without but got tripped up by a couple of confusing road junctions and some networks of one-way streets).
It's perfectly feasible to walk to the flat from Termini, but not recommended if you have lots of luggage or if it's particularly hot!
