Interaction with Guests
Due to the short term visits of most guests, we don't always see our guests. We try to give them all they need to have an "independant" experience and be readily available if they need/want for anything/help.
Yes, you are going on vacation in a neighborhood...! Not in a tourist corridor that is some what controlled. It's like you've moved into your own house for your stay, so the things that make you a good neighbor at home apply here. Please be considerate and respectful and let your host know (think of your call to me as calling the front desk at a hotel...) if something is going on before you write in in a review so it can be resolved for all the future guests!!

Other Things to Note

1. Contact Cathy if you have questions or concerns (noise, something broken, odd smell...). As much as we would like to... we do not allow pets or sublets. 2. RESPECT: Please be respectful of our great, friendly neighbors (please let me know if they are not being respectful of you/us...) Check out is at eleven, call if you need more time. 3. PLEASE DO NOT: Smoking is not permitted on the property. The fireplace is for candles only. 4.. H20 USE AND RECYCLE: Please recycle (guide on washer lid) and conserve our precious water wherever possible - we are in a serious drought - please no baths!! 5. PARK: Park your car in the space behind the house. Check the signs if you street park. Call Cathy if someone is in the parking spot! 6. HEAT: The heater has set off the smoke detector if it's left on high enough. 65 degrees works, it helps to open the blinds on the front of the house and let the sun in! 8. COOK! The kitchen counter is wood block that is NOT designed to be cut on. Please use the cutting board supplied. 9. WASTE NOT: Feel free to leave extra food stuff that you'd like to find in the frig when you arrive...:) Take the rest with you or dispose of it properly. The trash and recycle receptacles are outside the gate at the sidewalk- note chart on washer. 10. SHEETS AND TOWELS: Leave soiled linens in the laundry basket in the bedroom closets (duvet cover can stay on the comforter if not soiled) and do your dishes before you go home. If you let me know if something isn't working or got broken, it helps so much. Often times I don't learn this until I have another guest walking in the door!
Our hopes are that you will enjoy your stay. If that means relaxing in the sun by the creek or getting out to see all that Santa Barbara has to offer. We are outdoor enthusiasts, don't hesitate to contact us if you want ideas for fun!
Cathy is a wonderful host! She made sure we had settled in and had everything we needed. This place is such a find, it is immaculate and so cheerfully decorated. We were right at home with our two little boys, we all slept great and enjoyed the convenient downtown location. My 3 year old didn't want to leave, every day we were there he declared how much he loved the "cottage". Thank you Cathy for this perfect place to stay while visiting Santa Barbara!
Cathy and Scott were perfect hosts! The cottage was cozy, clean and sunny, and easy to access. Cathy had thought of everything; there was fresh fruit waiting for us, with recommendations/directions on activities in the area, tours, restaurants, etc. Location of this home was very safe and centrally located. The only reason we rented a car was to have access to surrounding cities. If you're staying in the area, and enjoy walking, you have access to everything on foot, including the beach.
What an amazing little home, sparkling clean, so close to State Street, we will be recommending to all our australian friends, thank you cathy, mike & joey - Sydney Australia
I've stayed at a handful of Aribnb's and, undoubtedly, my stay with Cathy has been one of the best. Cathy was a kind host, answering any questions I had about her space, and consistently checking up on me before and after my arrival. She ensured I had everything I needed and made herself readily available if I had any questions.
As for the space itself, the pictures don't do it justice. Cathy's place is actually perfect. My guest and I kept raving about how the space was just the perfect size, had the perfect location, and we never felt like we were missing anything. I truly recommend Cathy's Airbnb to anyone interested in going to Santa Barbara.
Cathy was a very accommodating host. She worked with us on short notice since another place we decided to stay turned out to be a dud. However, she and her awesome little place were a life saver!! It's a great place and in a great location, super close to downtown and in a decent neighborhood on top of that. She was extremely nice and made sure we got in ok and had everything we needed, including where bath/beach towels were inside the house. Nice little patio for breakfast too.
I had a great stay--the bed was so unbelievably comfortable and the house had everything I needed. The neighborhood is quiet but really close to everything. I will definitely look to see if Cathy's place is available next time I come to town.
Cathy was a great communicator and had carefully considered every detail of our stay. I really appreciated all of the information regarding the home, the city and the neighborhood.
