  • My three friends and I spent our Spring Break in Cathy's cheerful bungalow. There were many personal touches that really made our stay feel like we were not in a rental property; from the fresh flowers on the table to a bottle of olive oil for cooking. Cathy was always responsive and helpful if we had any questions. The house was very clean and comfortable. The location was perfect. We had a wonderful week.

  • We stayed about three weeks in Cathy's adorable cottage; our second visit here. It is our home-away-from-home. The cottage has everything that we needed for our winter escape from the cold in Minnesota. We brought our road bikes and rode up the challenging hills and mountains around Santa Barbara. We rented stand-up paddle boards in the harbor, we practiced yoga at nearby Yoga Soup studio and we swam at the Bano Bathhouse. Our car remained parked for most of the visit as we could walk and bike everywhere from the cottage. Cathy is a wonderful hostess who has become a friend. We will cherish our trip and hope to repeat it soon!!!

  • I and my wife stayed together with our daughter in Cathys house for almost a week in March 2014. The house met fully with our expectations as well as with Cathys description. It was very bright and nicely decorated, with a nice working or eating spot along the window in addition to a dining table with chairs and a sofa. The kitchen was fully equipped and it was easy to prepare and cook food.
There was good place for the three of us, using the two wide beds.
The house is very well located, close to both the wonderful beach and to downtown where there is a lot of shopping and restaurants. But even so, the area was very nice, cozy and quiet. And, on the corner of the street, actually next door to the house was a small convenience shop which we found very practical. At the back of the house was a good parking for our car. Within walking distance was a very good bakery situated. If we need some place to stay again in Santa Barbara, we hope that Cathy want to have us as her guests again.

  • We came to Santa Barbara for my daughter's wedding. The place is so close to the center, we could simply walk to the venue, which was in the Historical Museum. Ver quiet area, close to many things. We loved sitting in the patio and listening to birds and watching butterflies.
I also liked many sitting arrangements for eating - at the table, by the window at the bar or outside.
Great books, lots of light, but also lots of privacy.
And Santa Barbara is so beautiful!
Would like to come back, but now I have in-laws lining there and an open invitation :)

  • From the outside, this house looks small and rather plain. However, when we opened the door we were delighted with a beautiful and cute, yet spacious (for 2 or 4) home. It's decorated beautifully. Exceptionally clean. Beds are so nice ( pillow options are great and we enjoyed the memory foam and warm comforter). Every detail seems to be thought through. I would go back without hesitation and only wish Cathy had home throughout the country so I could be assured that wherever I travel I would be this well taken care of. Thank you, Cathy!

  • The house is very cozy and clean. We cooked, used the games on the book shelves and were able to park our car for the long weekend we were there and walk everywhere. We took walks to the beach, to downtown for shopping and dining.

  • Thoughtfully decorated, with many nice touches. Jewlery cup to put rings in, trader Joe bags for taking the beach towels and mats. Fun games we played with the family. Kathy really took the time think about what makes a good "home," and that enhances the travel experience so much more. We no doubt will return. My son asked if we could move in and live there. :) Only issue we encountered were ants but that was easy enough to deal with for us.

Thanks for the ant bait tip! Cheers from "Ant"a Barbara...

  • We had a wonderful stay! The house is really accommodating, spacious, sunny and bright. It is also very clean, very well equipped, and the beds are soooo comfortable. Not to mention the location which is also excellent. Communication with Cathy was very easy and she accommodated us really well, including baby stuff. I definitely recommend this place!!!

  • We were in Santa Barbara and needed immediate accommodation (same day). Fortunately Sunny Creekside seemed available and Cathy accepted our booking within 20 minutes! We were relieved, but more amazingly when we stepped into the house, we just felt at home straight away. Although we didn't meet Cathy, she was incredibly helpful in getting us into the property quickly and with ease. The Cottage is a gem! The beds are super comfortable, the kitchen is well equipped, the patio at the back is ideal for early morning coffee and late afternoon drinks and I'm sure is even better in the Summer. We loved all the little touches, artwork on the walls, beautiful glasses and crockery, tasteful ornaments. Plenty of information about what to do in Santa Barbara. The drawer cabinet that houses a different game in each drawer is so cute! We stayed with 3 people but feel the house could easily accommodate up to 5. Cathy even provides beach towels! We had the best of times at Sunny Creekside. The location is ideal... we walked everywhere. We definitely want to come back. Maybe next year already!

  • If you want to be able to walk to all of the shops and restaurants of State Street as well as the beach, then this is your place! This cheery cottage is roomy and recently fully remodeled. It has plenty of storage space in closets and dressers as well as a private yard with comfortable furniture and an off-street parking space behind the house. The decorating is adorable both inside and out and the beds are very comfortable. The cottage is absolutely spotless and has a well appointed full kitchen.

Cathy is a true professional with lots of experience in providing 5 star Airbnb accommodations. If this place is full or too big, check out her other adorable places just around the block.

There is so much to do in Santa Barbara! We went biking, hiking and attended the international Film Festival. We LOVED the Lito Mexican restaurant nearby (it was featured on the TV show, Diners, Drive Ins and Dives) and the Handlebar Coffee Shop. The best cappuccino that I have had in a while. The pastries at the Anderson Bakery on State Street are "to die for". We will be back soon!
