River and Aly are the inhabitants of this house (along with two friendly cats). We are eager to share our lives with others. To be inspired and learn from the guests that stay here. A little bit about us:

River: I am a writer and coffee enthusiast. I enjoy finding cozy nooks to be quiet and read. I spend my free-time riding my bike around Denver, finding new bookstores, new vinyl, and new recipes for bread baking. I love to meet new people. My ideal environment is sitting around a campfire swapping stories and watching the sun come up.

I work in a coffee shop a few days a week and am in the midst of starting a new Denver publication about events, art and culture in our city. My schedule is flexible and changes from day to day.

Aly: I (email hidden) who sells vintage clothing for a living. I love cooking, baking, and making art, but quite honestly spend most of my time watching my two cats live their lives. I find peace in the solitude of nature and a dark and quiet movie theater. I love exploring new films as well as new places. I have travelled and lived in a variety of cities.

I work mostly from home or a cozy cafe (I can give you reviews of all) and my schedule changes day to day, but I'm flexible.

Dicky & Thora (Dictionary and Thesaurus ((cats)) : We're a brother and sister power couple who spend most of our time snuggled up against one another or trying to make a cozy bed in a box too small for us. We can't get enough of human beings and we would really like it if you pet us 100% of the time. We hate to toot our own horns, but we're really well-behaved and we're pretty certain you'll won't get enough of us and want us to come home with you.

River & Aly are new to this property. It was formerly run by John & Petra. Same space, same rules and details, new owners.

If you have concerns about anything, please don't hesitate to contact us. We're happy to talk to you about the room you'll be renting and the details of your stay!

Guest Access

Guests have access to the entire lower half of the house, including a living area and laundry room. The upstairs living room and kitchen are also shared. The only of limit areas are the garage and the upstairs bedrooms, office and bathroom.

Interaction with Guests

We may or may not be around to visit. If we are, we often enjoy conversations, meals, and boardgames with guests. However, if you prefer time alone, we are respectful of the space that you have rented.

The Neighborhood

Our neighborhood is nice and quiet, while still being located minutes from downtown. Several major bus lines run within 2 blocks of the house, and access to and from the highway is very easy as well.

  • I reserved this room with a colleague and we had a great experience! River and Ali are super friendly and accomodating. The room was clean, bedrooms extremely comfortable, and a very nice downstairs area. The house itself is quirky and fun.

The area doesn't have a lot of places to walk to at night, but there are options during the day.

I would 100% recommend staying with River and Ali-- I hope to do so again!

  • Great first experience with air BNB! Will definitely be using again. A homey atmosphere and a great city.

  • Aly and River were very responsive and accommodating. The neighborhood is a quick drive to downtown and near main highways. I would definitely stay here again!

  • My experience with John & Petra couldn't have been better. It's all about the people and these two are terrific. I briefly met two of their neighbors who were equally as
wonderful. I would much prefer a no frills room with people like these than a frilly , chocolate mints on the pillow, room with so so people. Not to mention the price of the room which was very helpful to my wallet. John even helped me find the gas cap lid release on my rented Ford Focus. Who knew you just push on the lid at just the right spot ? Thanks John & Petra. Blessings to you, Warren

  • John and Petra are AWESOME. This place is AirBnB gold. They have two awesome, SUPER friendly pets - Lunchbox and Mike and my girlfriend and I had such a good time playing with them.

    May 2014
  • John was very welcoming, and the room was great for our one-night stay. We'd definitely stay here again!

  • Very good and available host!

    May 2014
  • This place was fun! I raided John's record collection 'cause he said I could and found some gems that I never heard before. There was plenty of room to move around here with two floors to choose from, a backyard and a front porch.

The dog and cat were fun! Lunchbox, the dog, was quite spunky and liked to play.

The kitchen was nice and so was the downstairs where we sleep.

I paid for the dual bedroom because I thought I was going to have a friend with me. John was very gracious about refunding me the difference in $ when my friend did not show up. I really appreciated that.

    May 2014
  • Long story short, John and Petra are awesome. The room was quite nice, they were extremely accommodating, and overall it was a really, really good experience. If you are in Denver I recommend them without reservation.

    April 2014
  • The room was wonderul and I love love love Lunchbox and Mike! We got there pretty late during a weekday so we didn't get to interact a lot with John and Petra since they had to work but thank you so much for hosting us and accommodating our late arrival even though you had work the next day. The house was pretty cool and we love the rainbow and unicorn decorations that we saw everywhere. They had a great collection of books too! Def one of the coolest places we stayed at during our road trip from the East Coast to West Coast.

About
CLAYTON PROPERTY MANAGEMENT started out as one guy with a house, and is now a group of 4 friends with multiple listings between them all. They have shared spaces together, and are now working on expanding their portfolio of properties to rent to you! Currently, in Denver, River and Aly reside at our Clayton St. address. I work mostly from home or a cozy cafe (I can give you reviews of all) and my schedule changes day to day, but I'm flexible. Here's a little bit about everyone: John: A seasoned international and domestic traveler, I enjoy rideshares, hitchiking, trains, hostels, and even occasionally traveling the 'classy' way. The important part for me is new experiences, and catching myself off guard. I like live music, working on projects around the house, science fiction and fantasy novels, good beer, and taking photos. I am an armchair eschatologist, avid daydreamer, and not-so-mad scientist. I r-e-s-p-e-c-t the environment, people, and animals. I work in construction, and have a fairly active lifestyle. My favorite things in the world are (a) driving through puddles, and (b) pizza. Petra: I am, not in my own words, a "reckless optimist and an equal opportunity enthusiast." An electric gypsy. A lifelong nomad. A creator of rainbow-themed everything and wooden spoons, A collector of junk, bones, and unicorn art. My passion is abundant, and usually most highly concentrated in the outdoors - playing, working, and frolicking in beautiful, wild places. Other things I love include dancing, Black Rock City, living out of a backpack, good old-fashioned mountaineering, over-accessorizing, board games, books, bright colors, and trying to pet chickens. I have my sights set on relocating to northern Washington for graduate school so I can pursue a career in sleeping on the ground, avoiding artificial lighting, and being dirty.
