LOCATION:(ideal part of Dubrovnik for vacation )
The apartment is situated in Dubrovnik neighborhood west side from center, near famous Dubrovnik bridge .
The beaches there are ideal for those looking for clear sea and plenty of sunshine. If you are looking for entertainment, cultural events or simply a place to unwind, you will certainly find it in Dubrovnik.
The city of Dubrovnik is situated in the very south of the Republic of Croatia. The geographical position of the area is typical of the classic Mediterranean or 'estasian' climate with mild and damp winters, and hot dry summers at quite low air humidity .
The average air temperature is 20°C and the summer sea temperature is 24°C approx. A maximum variation of 4°C is very beneficial to the nervous system and general health. There are many sunny days during the winter months. The gentle Maestral - the messenger of lovely weather, refreshes the average summer temperature of 27°C whereas during the cooler months, the Bura and Jugo winds prevail. The city encloses the Elaphite archipelago (Sipan, Lopud, Kolocep, Tajan, Olipa, Jakljan and Daksa).
Although I haven't met Daria personally, she was very helpful by staying in contact with me all the time. Her husband was genereous enough to show me in and make a brief description about the area and what to do.
The house was exactly like in the pictures and the view towards the sea is fantastic. I spent three magnificent days in peace and quiet. The apartment is equipped with everything you need for a small vacation, same the kitchen. Everything is new and you won't miss anything.
The internet connection was very good and reliable.
I haven't counted the stairs till you get to the place, but if they were 100, they were very easy to climb in no more then 2 minutes.
One thing I want to mention is that the place is called Lozica, it is only 3 km away from the main bus station in Dubrovnik but it isn't that well accessible. One should cross the bridge to get there and you can't really do it as a pedestrian. There is only a bus running just a couple of times a day and only from monday to friday. There is always the taxies which can bring you there and this is no problem, just count on 100 kuna for one way. The taxi you can call from the apartment and pick you up from the entrance of the house. For me it wasn't a problem because i was looking for a quiet place and it was perfect, but if you want to the city keep this in mind.
There is also no shop in the town so buy your things while in Dubrovnik. There is a gorgeous restaurant just around the corner with fresh food and resonable prices.
On a whole I was very satisfied with the stay at Daria & Family...
This was perfect for what we wanted. The sat nav took us to the wrong address at first but I rang Daria for directions and someone waved us down from the main road.
It was very welcoming and we got given a bus schedule, taxi numbers and a pizza take away with prices.
The apartment was spacious, very clean and had great amenities.
Great Holiday all together!
End of April / early May: already in Croatia and looking for accomodation close to Dubrovnik. We found this location that looked perfect. It was indeed: all you need , beautiful view, parking no problem. Just before the Lozica bridge - have seen several cruise ships arrive and go away. Own means of tradfic is perect but also possible by bus (or taxi)
Nice bed and bedroom (also splendid sea view!)
Early season so nearby restaurant not open yet. As per recommendation in apartment we had pizzas brought "home" !
Quite some stairs but not a problem: good training for Dubrovnik.
Good contact with and fast replies of Daria & Family, not only by internet.
What more do you need? We surely recommend the Cosy Nest
Nice and comfortable apartment - but you need a car
The apartment was very clean and looked new, we felt comfortable there. At the end of the terrace you have a wonderful view over the water and coastline but mainly you look at the newly built house in front of the apartment.
We didnt meet Daria in person as this seems to be the agency, but the house owner was very nice and helped us with the luggage.
Yes, you need to climb a few stairs but they are not as many as we feared :)
The only thing we didnt like was the location as it is on a street where we didnt dare walk along (we had our baby girl with us) and there is a bus stop 50 metres away but the bus only runs every 60 minutes or less. So you should have a car with you (but mind the parking costs in Dubrovnik...)
All in all - we would come again.
The apartment is clean and cosy. Bed is very comfortable. Not convenient if you do not drive. Quite a number of steps up to the apartment so you might have abit of difficulty if you have heavy luggage. Overall we enjoyed our stay and the view is beautiful. Will recommend if you have a car.
We didn't meet Daria personally, but a friend of Daria was very friendly and helpfull. The apartment was cozy and quite, we enjoyed our stay :)
It was a great experience staying at Daria's apartment. The view was perfect and the food of the restaurant near their appartment was great too! I didn't meet Daria actually as she was out town at the time I was staying in their apartment, but her husband was very helpful and helped me solved all the traffic issue. Just a little problem that there is no bus to their apartment in the very early morning and after evening, but it only take 10 mins from their apartment to old town by taxi, so it was not really a problem for me.

About the Host, Daria & Family :) Welcome
I graduated at faculty of law in Split, and before the university I was going in Gimnasium Dubrovnik 06/07.
Last winter I took the courses for accounting and auditing at RRIF at Zagreb , and took an exams for internal auditor and now I do the specialization at University for finance .
What really makes me happy is to work with my family as a host and in tourism during the season :) . It is a great opportunity to meet various people .
And even though all hosts of private accommodations are not professionals , me and my family are striving by working together , cooperating and learning to achieve high level of service .
I strive to be very professional and accurate in everything I do , so as in being a host with my family , it is not easy but we do our best and learn a lot along the way .
PLEASE READ FURTHER :)
From experience the best would be to do like this : If you decide to book , please let me know if you are arriving with a car , bus or from airport so that I can send you directions to the apartment in details , also it would be good , if you book the accommodation , that you send me your email address so that I could send you a map with marked location and coordinates .
If you are coming prior to the check in time let me know so that I can be ready and that I can help you with luggage until the apartment is prepared or that I arrange the cleaning lady earlier ( if the guests before you leave before theirs check out time ) and prepare the apartment earlier for you .
I encourage you to ask anything that you would like to know before you make booking .
On the arrival I or one of my dear family members will wait for you , help you to settle in and provide you maps of local area and some useful advises .
I am always available to come if you need my assistance and via cell phone and email and my family members as well .
For sure , since I also travel , I must mention that it is good to explore little bit on your own about the area you are visiting ( as lots of people were surprised that there are stairs in Dubrovnik , and they did not checked the fact that Dubrovnik is built under a hill :) )
We very much respect guests privacy and of course the guests needs to respect some house rules like in hotel .
In addition :) I love animals , I am a vegetarian , I believe in world peace and I love Dubrovnik as it is so relaxing town and I hope you will love it as much as I .
My family is very professional , hearty and helpful .
Honest best wishes ,
Your potential hosts ,
Daria & family
