About this listing
Our house is located in Villa Correntoso neighborhood, surrounded by old trees in a very quiet place with outstanding lake views.
Beautiful house with one suite on first floor and one guest room on ground floor, as well as a futon in the living room which will perfectly accommodate up to 6 guests. Enjoy our wonderful views of Nahuel Huapi lake and mountains from every room of the house. Feel right at home with our fully equipped kitchen, 2 full bathrooms (one with a relaxing bathtub) and large dining room. Take advantage of our incredibly comfortable living room with a working fireplace while you enjoy the most amazing views. Conveniently located 5 minutes away from downtown Villa La Angostura but embedded in the heart of Villa Correntoso, this house is the realization of my life dream and we would love to have you share this little piece of paradise.
For some reason the map will not show our specific location but please feel free to look at our images for more information on where our house is located or contact us and we will be happy to send you more information.
They will have access to the whole house, deck and property.
Interaction with Guests
We will reach out to our guest a few days before they arrive with an email with instructions on how to arrive at the house and a telephone number for the house keeper.
During their stay, the guests can contact us by phone in case of emergency or if they need help with something.
When they leave the house, we always send a feedback e-mail.
We love the peace, the silence and the lake views of our house.
Guests should walk along Camino del Condor, right off our house, enjoying the forest and lake views.
Public transport is found 700 Mts. away from the house at the intersection between Camino del Condor and Ruta 40. Be aware that the bus frequency can be very limited during day hours and none at night.
Other Things to Note
We expect our guest to enjoy our house and take care of it as if it was their own.
We don't allow pets and it is a non-smoking property.
In reservations of 7 or more days, there will be a (one) cleaning of the home and change of sheets and towels in the middle of the stay. The guests are able to hire extra cleaning at their own expense on arrival.
We want you to have fun and feel comfortable so we ask that you take care of our house as you would if it was yours. There is no smoking or pets allowed in the house and there will be an extra cleaning fee in case this rule is not followed. We ask our guests to try and remove dirty shoes or snowy boots in the mud room and to refer to the provided manual for instructions on how to use the appliances and heating. Moving the houses's furniture is not permitted. Last but not least, we ask that you be careful when using the fireplace. Always put out fires before you leave the house, do not use it for barbecues and use the screen to prevent sparks from flying out of the fireplace.
Other than that, we urge you to feel at home and make the most of this amazing place!
Physically, the house is everything it appears to be in the photos. The view, both from the living room and the bedroom is spectacular, so in that sense, it was everything that we could have asked for.
However, moving beyond the beautiful physical appearance, we did have a few issues, which were disappointing. After booking, we receive a message telling us to beware of frequent power outages caused by storms in winter. Also, we had a fixed time to check in and even though we were slightly late, the housekeeper was not there anyway and we had to wait a further 30 minutes in the cold for him to come. There was no place to hang washed clothes to dry and the housekeeper suggested we hang clothes over the furniture – which was our only option to dry them. Many lights were out and with all wooden interiors, it meant that upstairs was particularly dark.
The big problem, however, was that the whole downstairs front section of the house was freezing. This section has the second bedroom and it was so cold that we couldn’t have our children sleep in the room, fearing they would get sick. It was approximately 10 degrees Celsius cooler than upstairs. What was most disappointing was that Ricardo’s response was that this resulted from a cold and wet winter and that he would look into it in his next trip.
In all honesty, Villa la Angostura is cold year round - we have been there when it was snowing in the middle of summer – so the heating should be able to handle a fairly mild winter (i.e. in a week where it barely snowed).
While agreeing to a late check out was appreciated, we didn’t really feel it compensated for having to share our bedroom with our two children when we had rented a two bedroom house.
Since the beginning of the reservation process Phil was full of questions and inquiries and although we tried our best, he was still not satisfied.
Our email states that SOMETIMES there are power outages (which we do not control and occur in all of Villa La Angostura) and that even though they tend to last few minutes, if there should be the need we have a power generator. However we do not understand your comment as to our knowledge, there were no power outages during your stay.
Regarding heating, it is the first time somebody complains about this in 2 years renting the house and having had another guest with children leaving one day prior to your arrival. We will look at this issue next time we are in Villa La Angostura to see if there really is a problem with heating, not sure what else we could have done during your stay.
The housekeeper was late due to the fact that you failed to let him know you were arriving one hour late and he had to go twice to the house.
We not only agreed to a late check out but tried to accommodate every request you had.
There was ONE light out and we regret the fact that you couldn't find the clothesline (although we don't list this as an amenity on the listing).
It is a real shame that you weren't able to enjoy a house that other 21 guests have throughly enjoyed, as well as our responses and attention.
Muchas gracias! Lo recomendamos en un 100%
We were warmly welcomed by Javier, acting on behalf of the owner. He met us in Villa la Angostura and accompanied us to the drive out of town and up to where the house is located. This was very helpful as I am not sure we would have been able to find the place otherwise. Javier opened the house for us, showed us around and made us feel welcome. It was the perfect beginning to our stay.
What can I say about our stay here in this beautiful home that can possibly express how wonderful and gracious and delightful we found it. The house itself is beautiful, warm, inviting. The views from the living room and the master suite upstair--of the lake and the mountains--are simply stunning. So much so that sometimes we found it hard to do anything else but sit and watch the clouds float by in the sky. Just magical.
To stay here you need a car. But everything is within easy reach of the house. We would go to the local market for whatever we needed. And we found hiking and horseback riding also within easy reach.
I really cannot find enough superlatives to describe the house, the place itself and the way we were received here. Our stay here came at the end of two years of living in Argentina (Córdoba). It is hard to imagine a more beautiful end to our time in Argentina. Thank you Ricardo!
Our host was very welcoming; he was extremely helpful in answering questions prior to our arrival so we could make the most of our stay there. The house is on a hillside looking over the lake, with a terrace to sit outside. It was a comfortable and lovely place to stay, just be sure to have a car, as it is a few miles drive to the town. Not all "essentials" are provided, so you may need to bring soaps, toilet papers, and kitchen cleanup needs.
Recomendable
