Q - Is the area safe?
A - Very safe. There are always lots of people around and it has a very mid 20s vibe about it.

Q - What Time is Check in?
A - 3:00pm

Q - Can I check in early?
A - Unfortunately not. Often there is a guest the night before and we can't kick them out early. We then have to get the place nice and clean for you which takes at least an hour.

Q - Can I drop my bags there early?
A - No, but 'Left Luggage' is a great company found at many stations across London, including Liverpool St terminal 10.

Q- Can I check in Late.
A- Yes we accept check in up till midnight but please inform us of the time you are coming.

Q - What Time is Check Out?
A - 11:00 am

Q- Can I leave the suitcases upon check out.
A - No, but 'Left Luggage' is a great company found at many stations across London, including Liverpool St terminal 10.

Q- Is it completely Private
A- Yes

Q - Do I have the whole apartment?
A - You have the whole top floor of my 2 story place. On your floor there is a bedroom with Double bed. A lounge with TV and Kitchenette. A bathroom with Shower, Toilet and Sink.

Q - Do you provide adaptors, hair dryers and an iron.
A - Unfortunately, to became to expensive to replace all the items taken by guests that we loaned to them so we do not provide these items. You will need to bring them with you.

Q - Where are you then?
A - I am on the level below.

Q - Do we share a common entrance?
A - Yes you enter the front door into a hall that leads to both separate sections.

A- YES We are situated in ZONE 1 which is the centre of the city. Near Tower of London St Pauls etc. This is the City Centre officially However most tourists think of Covent Garden- SOHO- Oxford st as the city Centre which it is not. That area is called the West End. It is still zone 1 but you will have to catch a tube which will take less than 10 mins from Liverpool st.

Q - What is the closest Tube.

  • The apartment was awesome, on a great street and exactly as pictured. The hosts were very professional and there was a binder in the room with some great info about the area.

We only saw Alice for a few minutes when we checked in but that suited us fine as we're pretty private! Definitely felt closer to a hotel experience then we had expected, which was a pleasant surprise.

  • Studio was exactly as described and shown in the photos,
nice and clean, and with a beautiful view from the balcony.
It is in a great location for bars, restaurants and shopping
    I would definitely recommend!

  • We had a great stay here. Great location, beautiful space, easy communication. We were sad when we had to leave because we enjoyed it so much and would definitely stay here again the next time we're in London.

  • This was my first experience with Airbnb and I was definitely nervous. However, Alice and Vincent's arrangements were absolutely spot on and the rental itself was a true gem. Modern, clean, spacious and with my own balcony! If this is the the benchmark that Airbnb represents then I doubt I'll be staying in many hotels from now on!

  • Efficient and friendly communication. Very nice and clean place. Right in the heart of Old St./Shoreditch. Perfect stay, recommended.

  • The location was great, the apartment was fine and arriving was relatively easy. I am a frequent host but rare guest. A few things that made this a disappointing airbnb stay:

There were two things wrong with the apartment:
    1) The shower didn't drain well and the basin was so shallow that I was very concerned with flooding the bathroom.
    2) There was a wonderful huge door to the back deck (you can see it in the photo) with a shade that you could pull down at night. Unfortunately, there was no way to bring the shade back up in the morning. No pulley, no pull and release, no nothing - it was stuck. It made for a very dark room.

As stand-alones, these things wouldn't be such a big deal. But the way they were handled was disappointing.

To their credit, these guys are pretty much running a business on airbnb so I appreciated how all the communication up to now had been very detailed and specific. So I followed the instructions and at 945am, I texted the maintenance person on duty. When I didn't receive a response, I tried again and also had my friend with a local London phone try. Still no response. Finally, I reached out to the housecleaner who eventually told me that the maintenance guy was going to go deal with the issues. At 4:30pm she texted me to say that he couldn't get into the apartment because it's locked and his key didn't work. If I wanted it fixed, I needed to meet him at the apartment to let him in. Unfortunately, I was across town and not returning until 10pm. Since his hours are 11am-6pm, she offered to have him come back the next day at 11am. Since I was leaving the next morning and check out time was a "strict 11am", that didn't make much sense to me.

Finally, the whole thing feels a bit sketchy - like they are running an illegal business. The instructions make clear that you aren't supposed to mention "airbnb" to anyone you meet in the building.

    Response from Vincent & Alice:

The two problems that Anna mention are unfortunate maintenance issues can happen anywhere and though she was tried to sort it out, we were not made aware of the issue. Anna says she is a host, so she should understand that she can also always ask us for help to aid speed the process of problem solving.
She should also understand what Airbnb is - so referring to it as an illegal business boggles my mind a bit.

I (Vincent) am a UK born Australian fashion designer who lives between NYC and London. Had a past life as a professional dancer & actor. Love Kite Surfing and Glitch Hop. Alice is a born and bred Melbournian, a professional dancer, with a love of graphic design. June is my mum, from the North of England, who migrated to Perth Western Australia when i was young. She was a costume designer and now an artist living in Brooklyn. We are all Vegetarians, don't smoke and are not big drinkers but love to have fun. We have travelled a lot together and believe it's all about the journey, not the destination. I like to get lost and discover things off the beaten track.
