The maisonette is above a restaurant. The whole building forms part of unique structure distinguishing it from other properties in the area.
Our home is situated above the Metropolitan tube lines and Brighton train line and a view of St Paul's Cathedral. If inclined you can lie in the bath and write your ode to the dome of St Paul's against the comforting rumble of the trains. We have secondary glazing which makes a huge difference in reducing noise from outside.
LONDON's a DIN:
If you fear that is might be noisy in a Central London then you'll be correct in thinking so. It is the centre of London! However, each room has secondary glazing which reduces the noise from the city incredibly.
You will hear a rumble through the building as the trains pass underneath. It is not noisy as such. Myself and others find it very comforting but I can see that it might be an irritation to some people.
Other occupants: I'm pretty strict about the noise rules and will expect the same from all guests.
All in all it is alright. It is a safe area to live and stay. If you choose to live in central London then some comprises have to be made of course. But of all the places I've lived in London this has been one of my favourites as any pros out way the cons.
The rules of the house are simply no noise between 11pm - 9am Sun - Thurs and 12am - 10am Fri - Sat. For example, no parties. It is a working household. We sometimes have other guests and consideration is given when leaving and returning to the room(s).
I'm pretty strict about the noise rules and will expect the same from all guests.
Come and stay with my husband and I in Central London. We live in a shabby maisonette with character in an area steeped in history. You will be a short walk from everywhere you would want to visit in Central London. And with easy access to buses and tubes to take you to other places.
See you soon,
