Interaction with Guests

We are in the beautiful Greenwood neighborhood bordering UNC woodland trails. We love the convenience of being walking distance (or short ride) to the UNC campus and hospital, while still feeling that we live in the country. We have lots of trees, flowers, birds, butterflies, deer... and a friendly neighborhood.
The Chapel Hill Transit bus system is free. It's about a two-minute walk to bus stops, with easy access to the university, UNC Heath Care and major shopping/restaurant areas. A food store and drugstore are a ten-minute walk away.
Other Things to Note
We prefer having a phone conversation with prospective guests before accepting a reservation.
After we receive a booking request, we will ask airbnb to contact you. They will ask your permission to give us your phone number so that we can give you a call.
When we arrived we were greeted by Alan. He was super nice. He took us into the space we were staying in and spent a lot of time going through everything with us. There was plenty of coffee making machines, fruits, and muffins/banana bread for us. Our names were written on the dry erase board to welcome us by Vicky. The place was really clean. They were really accommodating. It was a very comfortable stay. Thanks Alan and Vicky!
Absolutely wonderful stay. Victoria and Alan are incredibly gracious, welcoming hosts, and made us feel right at home immediately. They went out of their way from the moment we booked to provide recommendations, personal touches, and to ensure that we were completely comfortable until the very last second of our stay. The neighborhood is great, and walking distance (about half an hour) to the main street with restaurants and shopping, and the home itself is clean, airy, cozy, and perfect.
Will absolutely be back! Cannot recommend Gracious Greenwood highly enough.
What a wonderful UNC graduation experience! Accommodations were just exceptional, hosts were more than gracious, thinking of every detail! Beds very comfortable, location to UNC campus perfect. Thank you for a fabulous graduation weekend - we hope to return soon!
Alan & Vicky made me feel at home from the moment I arrived. They both met me and showed me through their lovely home. Their pension for detail was definitely appreciated--bed warmers and crisp linens coupled with the beauty of the lush surroundings made this stay a pure get-away! The well-stocked bird feeders made for top notch bird watching!
Victoria and Alan were extremely welcoming from the moment I arrived. They were out in the driveway to greet me, then gave me the grand tour. They go to great lengths to make sure you have a great experience. Prior to arrival, they reached out to find out what type of coffee, fruit and pastries I liked, then had them waiting for me when I got there. The apartment is very charming and private. I would highly recommend staying there to anyone planning a trip to the Raleigh area.
We had a nice time staying there. It is a well stocked place to stay and a nice neighborhood to walk our dog in each day. You can tell the hosts are very detail oriented and responsive to their guests.
Our stay was a wonderful experience. We arrived on a rainy night. Vicky and Alan met us at the car with umbrellas, helped us bring everything inside, and gave us restaurant suggestions. We felt very welcomed. There were fresh flowers and personalized breakfast foods. I would definitely stay here again!
About the Host, Victoria & Alan
Vicky was born and raised in North Carolina. For forty years she guided the development of Chapel Hill's first and largest recreational soccer program. Her love of flowers at home and at work at Whole Foods helps keeps her happy. Vicky's license plate reads, "GR@I2UDE." She is grateful for her life in Chapel Hill… and most everything.
Alan was born in Chicago and lived in Arizona, Hawaii and Norway. He was a Cruise Director and Director of Entertainment for major cruise lines after a successful singing career that included stage, TV, concerts and recording. After retiring to Chapel Hill, Alan began volunteering at UNC Hospitals singing for patients, with a special interest in bringing music to children. Most recently, Alan was asked to join the Guest Services Team at UNC Health Care, guitar and all.
Two of our favorite films are "Love Actually" and "The Intouchables."
