Philip and Cassandra are the most wonderful, warm and considerate hosts. They welcomed us into their home just a short time after returning from their own travels. Contact prior to arrival was plentiful and thoughtful.
The property and the setting are perfect, perched high in the mountains overlooking the wine growing region of Santa Ynez valley. On arrival we were greeted with champagne cocktails and an introductory chat in their kitchen. Philip showed us round the property and explained the set up and his expectations. It's a vast, spacious group of buildings providing everything you could wish for. The bedroom was large, well presented and clean and set apart from the main house.
We enjoyed the advice they both gave us and had a wonderful meal on the roof terrace watching the sunset. Philip arranged a wine tour for us the next day which was so kind of him. In the morning we used the lovely pool. We also had the pleasure of meeting some of his family during our stay.
Philip was also able to help us with some change of plans during our stay and was understanding and sensitive to our needs.
We would highly recommend this venue to anyone and would just say that Philip and Cassandra are wonderful hosts. We'll be back!
An amazing stay in every way. Philip and Cassandra are true hosts. It was a pleasure meeting them and visiting their amazing property.
What a wonderful stay we had! Philip and Cassandra welcomed us to their beautiful property on top of the hill with amazing views of the landscape around . Our room was comfortable and beautiful too.
My husband and I had an amazing weekend at Coyote Ridge Ranch! We were looking for a peaceful and relaxing getaway and that's exactly what we found at this beautiful property. The room itself is cozy and inviting. Phillip provided a log each night and we were able to fall asleep to the sound of the crackling fire. We enjoyed the fantastic views, played pool and watched TV in the entertainment room, and relaxed under the stars in the spa. Phillip made us delicious cappuccinos and we had a great time visiting with him and Cassandra before our departure. Overall, If you're looking for a relaxing weekend on a fantastic property with wonderful hosts, this is the place to go!
I spent four wonderful days at Coyote Ridge Ranch. I knew I was going to love it from the minute I started to drive through the canyon on the narrow lane with oak trees providing a shady canopy. Eventually you climb out of the canyon to a hilltop and there sits CRR. The main house is painted a lovely jewel tone and the guest house is nestled among the trees with an amazing water fountain right outside the room. The room is spacious and yet inviting. You also have access to the ‘entertainment’ room which is a large book lined space in which you can tell a lot of laughter has gone on there.
Philip and Cassandra are warm, inviting and fascinating people. They offer lots of information regarding local events, restaurants, etc. Their home is art filled and beautiful and they invite you in for coffee each morning if you like. However, they are also amazingly intuitive in that they leave it to their guests to decide how much or how little they want to engage. In other words, I could have spent four days of not seeing anyone if I wanted. But I did choose to have coffee with them on most mornings and I am so glad I did. Phillip makes an excellent latte and Cassandra is so interesting to talk to. They have a fascinating history and seem to be surrounded by people and animals who love them. I can understand why.
We had a wonderful time staying in Philip and Cassandra's guesthouse! Philip was there to greet us when we arrived and give us a tour of the property and our room. I seriously cannot imagine a more beautiful place to live or in our case, visit. the pictures on AirBnB give you an idea, but in person it's breathtaking. The room was spacious, clean and cute. We enjoyed the hot tub in the evenings when the temperature dropped a bit. One of the best parts of staying with Philip and Cassandra was getting to know them! Such kind a hospitable people with lots of great recommendations for the area. I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the pets, Pace and Pablo the dogs were always around to say hello as were a few adorable and friendly cats. As animal lovers, this made us feel at home. If we're back in the area we're definitely going to try to book with Philip and Cassandra first!
Our hosts, Phillip and Cassandra, were absolutely wonderful in every way. Not only did Phillip wait for us at the bottom of the hill to guide us up to the house as we came in after dark, but took time to make sure we were comfortably settled. He brought us a map to navigate around town with well known eateries marked for our early breakfast before our soccer tournament. In the morning, we were welcomed into their home, given a lovely cappuccino and vanilla steamed milk for my daughter as we discussed trips to Italy. Perfect!
Peaceful and tranquil are the words that come to mind when describing the accommodations set amongst the gorgeous old oak trees. As we were in Santa Ynez for a soccer tournament, the quiet was most welcome to return to, relax, light the provided firelog, and get a good nights rest.
On top of everything, Phillip sent me an email with some wonderful Italy travel tips for my husband and I to use on our upcoming trip to Tuscany. The Grant family went above and beyond in every way. We definitely recommend the Coyote Ridge Ranch Room for folks seeking a unique, quiet country stay with excellent hosts.
