Amazing experience!! Such a beautiful place. The staff are really kind and attentive yet do not pester you at all. It was my girlfriends birthday and they made it very memorable indeed, a bunch of flowers for morning breakfast then dinner on the lake - amazing. The food was excellent every day
A little paradise on earth.
We have had a wonderfull experience at banian camp, even more that I had expected.
Every thing is made for an unforgetable experience.
We should have stayed more than one night !
Vj was the most caring and initiative host we had on our three week trip with the family in sri lanka. She really knows how to surprise and always cares about the details. Wow!
How do you actually describe a place that truly defies description? Banyan Camp is pure magic and a travel experience like no other. Souhaine, Vijay and the rest of the team have created something remarkable... a rustic, outdoor paradise which is at the same time luxurious, comfortable and enchanting. Time seems to become irrelevant as days just move between serenity while reading in the hammock to unforgettable excursions in the stunning area surrounding the camp. It doesn't end there... deliciously flavourful Sri Lankan home-cooking three times a day is the best that I had in a month traveling the country. They've thought of every detail... including some surprises along the way that will take your breath away. You won't want to leave. Guaranteed. Vijay is a thoughtful, kind and engaging host... saying goodbye was like bidding farewell to good friends. Banyan Camp is not to be missed!
Truly an exceptional experience. I cannot thank Vijayanthi and Souhaine enough for making our Sri Lanka trip truly unique and unforgettable. The accommodation was first rate, the food was the best I ate in three weeks of travelling in the country and the scenery around the camp was breath taking. If you are intending on going to Sri Lanka, you would miss out by not taking the time to stay at Banyan Camp
Me and my sister stayed in Banyan camp for four night. Our stay was an amazing experience. It's an awesome experience sleeping kind of outside under a mosquito net with a great view over the lake when you wake up to the sound of the nature surrounding the camp. Besides the delicious food, outstanding accommodation, great hospitality by Souhaine and the guys working in the camp and the nature surrounding the camp we were the first once allowed to stay in the newly established tent. However, 'tent' is kind of an understatement for a bedroom with a proper real bed and an own attached bathroom ;-). To sum it up: we had a great time and highly recommend going there! For sure we will be back some day! All the best to you Souhaine!
A fantastic and unique experience!
If you enjoy nature and appreciate tranquil aesthetics this is a must go place for you. Picture a sustainable and beautifully decorated camp structure set next to a pristine lake. This is a place where you will be eating your breakfast whilst maintaining eye contact with monkeys, reading a book in the shade or on the grass just to see the rock squirrel or wader stroll by and have dinner to inspiring and genuine conversations with the most welcoming of hosts: Souhaine and VJ. We loved every minute of it and hope to be back soon.
Note: Souhaine and Vj are so generous and most helpful. We'd love to thank them again for organising transport, getting us across waters, and introducing the variety of hoppers. Last but not least, we loved the christmas paradise you presented us with, the handmade decoration was beautiful, the food superb and the gifts such a surprise!
