UNIQUE ARTIFACTS, CHARMING. COMFY AND PEACEFUL GETAWAY
Stay in this large, 20 x 19' room with a queen bed and a trundle bed (makes into 2 narrow single beds & can sleep 2 adults). You may have use of the living room and kitchen and dining room. The home has internet service. This is an older block house on 5 acres and one acre is fenced, so you may bring your dog. This was the home of an artist in stonework and you will find interesting stone furnishings inside and outside, as well as sculptures and paintings. Located on a dirt road, you will find peace and quiet.. Come relax, enjoy the desert scenary and wildlife: bunnies, quail, road runners, doves, squirrels, and an occasional coyote or bobcat.
Just six miles to Joshua Tree National Park. 45 mins to Palm Springs. An hour-and-a-half to Indio.
This old block house does not have forced air heating or air conditioning. It does have a fireplace with a blower, portable heaters and fans and a swamp cooler. There is just one bathroom. Just a comfy older house.
If you want to have the house to yourself and have 2 bedrooms, see Nana's ad under airbnb whole house.
The house has internet service. Guests may play LP records and CDs and games found in the guest room. Join Nana in the front room to watch some TV. Use the fire pit in the back patio for cooking hot dogs and marshmallows. Or BBQ on the charcoal cooker on the front patio. Enjoy the outdoor old-fashioned bathtub with water warmed by the sun.
Be sure and visit nearby Joshua Tree National Park.
Interaction with Guests
Nana will be there to greet you and fix breakfast. Most of the interaction is upon arrival, getting guests settled in and oriented to the home; and in the morning with a simple breakfast. Sometimes I am asked to join the guests, other folks need to eat and run.
Mornings are very peaceful and the rising sun warms you after a cold night. Doves coo, the woodpecker works on the Joshua Tree, and, if you sit and watch, a rabbit is likely to come by. I hope my guests will enjoy the stone work, the sculptures and paintings; and the beauty of the desert: the rocks, plants, wildlife and experience the presence of its Creator.
Other Things to Note
For your outdoor bathing pleasure, you will find an old timey bathtub. Water in brown gallon bottles are warmed by the sun. Or a refreshing shower from the hose on those hot days!
Walk the Labyrinth to sooth your soul.
No inside smoking; ashtrays are provided on the patios.
No stealing and no vandlism
Keep it quiet between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m.
Pick up after yourself and your critter.
Leave it as you found it; leave the used linens in a pile in the bedroom.
Geri is a gracious and interesting hostess. She made us feel right at home. Her place is in a quiet neighborhood and the bed is very comfortable. We had a restful stay.
Geraldine was sweet. We arrived late and she met us with a warm welcome. The place was nice and very peaceful. We loved the backyard, so did the pups. Would definitely stay again!
We booked Geraldine's room late the night before and she was quick to respond. Unfortunately our plans changed last minute and we did not get to stay. However, we still met her and got to see her space. She was kind and understanding and gave us treats after our hike in Joshua Tree.
I cannot recommend because we did not stay, only stopped by for a few minutes.
My son, my nephew and myself had a fabulous time staying at Geraldine's home. She was very gracious to wait up until close to midnight to allow us in. We enjoyed playing some of her albums on a classic record player.
Geraldine is a very kind woman with very mild mannered dogs. The room was quite comfortable and the property was intriguing with its meditation labyrinth, stone cut table and chairs, and sculptures.
The stay was topped off with a delightful continental breakfast that included a cranberry banana bread that she had just made the day before.
We look forward to staying with her again next time we come out to Joshua Tree.
Initial booking went well however a snag occurred yet everything went well due to Geraldine being so upfront and helpful. Her place is lovely. The room is very large. The bed is very comfortable. Very peaceful and relaxing. It is a great place for kids and pets. Lovely outdoor spaces including a labyrinth. Finally, Geri is a sweet person, you will like staying at her place.
We had an awesome stay at Geris place! She is a lovely person with two cute dogs and a great room where we could stay. You can discover very interesting things on Geris property. The breakfast was very good and the Joshua Tree National Park is close. Thanks for being our host!

About the Host, Geraldine
I am a widow who enjoys the peace and serinity of the desert. Active in dog agility, and I like square dancing and travel.
Reunited with my ex- husband after 30 years and he left this home to provide a safe haven for me. He passed away several months after we got back together.
I've enjoyed cleaning the place up and making a number of home improvements.
Every morning, I sit on the patio outside my bedroom door and take in the sunrise and the birds; read my devotional; think of those I love; and meditate on my blessings.
My 5 kids are grown and away. I appreciate my solitude, but I miss having someone around. I love having people come. I want to show off my husband's work. I want to share the peace and life of the desert.
