House - Entire home/apt · Northeast 29th Avenue, Portland, OR 97232, United States

The Space

During the month of March only I am accepting one night rentals.

Located on the second floor of a century old home (completely remodeled in 2005) the accommodations include the following:

A nice sized bedroom with a sitting area, a dresser, a closet and gas stove/ fireplace. The sleigh bed is queen sized and has a pillow top mattress.

In a separate larger room, there is a lounge area with a very long down filled sectional couch that can be made into a bed. The room also has a new mini fridge, microwave oven, coffee machine, grinder, french press and electric kettle. There is a table with two chairs and a buffet with dishes and utensils.

Both rooms have vintage Douglas fir flooring.

The bathroom is large, has two sinks and a large walk in shower. (And a toilet of course!)

The bedroom and lounge area are connected by a small hallway. Each room has a door. The bathroom is accessed through the lounge. The space is entirely private as is the entrance.

There is cable tv, a dvd player and free wireless internet.

Can't be beat for access to downtown Portland, the Oregon Convention Center, and the eastside Belmont and Hawthorne neighborhoods. Portland's 28th street restaurant row is right around the corner, and three blocks away there is a Whole Foods and a very cool second run movie theater. Within a short walk there are at least a dozen top rated restaurants to suit every taste and pocketbook and beautiful Laurelhurst Park is about 1/2 mile away.

The number 19, 20, and 12 bus lines are all close by and will take you downtown and to the airport. If you are driving there is always on street parking nearby. There is an Enterprise car rental lot on Sandy approximately three blocks away and six zipcars within a mile.

  • We had a great time staying at Dan's apartment. It is in a very convenient location to access the different areas of Portland, and we were able to easily walk to various restaurants, bars, convenience stores and a coffee shop. The apartment itself was clean and comfortable, and plenty of space for two people. We had a third guest for two of the nights we were there, and there was plenty of space for that person too. Dan was very accommodating and responded to any inquiries we had immediately. I would definitely recommend staying here!

  • The space was comfortable and perfect for what I needed: space and quiet to get some work done! Dan was a very welcoming host, I felt right at home.

  • Dan's apartment was our first time using airbnb. It was such a great experience and we'll totally use it again! The space is just like the pictures show-- cozy and welcoming with great light and a cute vintage vibe! Plus, it was super clean, which is important to a little germ freak like myself. The location couldn't have been better. It is so close to major bus lines on Glisan and Burnside. Additionally, there are a lot of great eats nearby, including Screen Door! Dan was a great host- super kind, thoughtful, not imposing, and accommodating. Plus, he has a vast knowledge of Portland to share. We also left some articles of clothing at his place, and he was thoughtful enough to inform us about it before we had to catch our train. We plan on coming back to Portland, and would definitely stay here again!

  • Dan was a great host. When we ran out of ideas on what to do, Dan was there with great suggestions and told us exactly how to do it. The bedroom was warm and cozy. The living room was comfortable (I just wish I had had more time to enjoy it) and the bathroom was spacious. The location was easy walk to good restaurants and bus stops to take you to downtown. There's a car rental just 3 blocks a way in case you want to rent a car to get out and see the surrounding area. I would recommend Dan's place to anyone visiting Portland.

  • Dan's place was super clean and comfortable and in an awesome area. He was flexible--very timely--with changes to my stay and he was a delight to meet at the end f my stay as well. Will definitely stay here again. the apartment is super cool as well, huge! Thanks Dan!

  • Dan's place is comfortable, convenient, and cozy. I'd have no hesitation staying there again. Very walkable to wherever I wanted to go was a plus.

    February 2014
  • This is a great location with easy access to downtown, the freeways, the Hollywood district, and southeast Portland. We enjoyed our stay and hope to stay with Dan again sometime. The gas fireplace is a cozy plus.

  • I could talk at length about the cleanliness, the lovely decor, the sun-filled front-room, or the proximity to parks, food, and coffee, but people who have commented before me have done the job nicely. I'd like to take a moment to talk about Dan's exemplary customer service. Dan's was consistantly available and very quick to respond (via text, email, and phone) when I had questions. In addition, he bent over backward to accomodate my parents--who were the ones staying in his apartment. The combination of a lovely apartment and Dan's warmth makes this accomodation a sure win.

  • Dan's upstairs apartment was cozy, just as advertised. Staying at Dan's was my best Airbnb experience thus far: it was quiet, private, clean, close to Hawthorne and a variety of restaurants, and like having your own apartment. Dan was also easily reachable by text. Will stay there again the next time I'm in PDX.

I'm originally from Chicago and have lived in Portland for about seven years. I've always had a passion for travel and have been lucky enough to visit about 40 countries, most recently Vietnam, Cambodia and Taiwan. Closer to home, funky, big city neighborhoods are my favorite places to explore. The natural beauty and mild climate are what drew me to the Pacific NW, but I return often to Chicago where I maintain business interests. I'm in property management and also a co-owner of a laundromat.
