ABOUT OUR VENICE BEACH HOME
We own an eclectic beach house designed like a New England cottage and located on a quite, peaceful and safe street, literally surrounded by the some of the best things LA has to offer.
Our unique and comfortable home is a u-shaped 1900 square foot villa with separate front and back homes connected by a large hallway/library. The home nestles around a large and sunny patio deck and garden. Our love of travel, art and life
in general is expressed in our homes furnishings and interior decor.
Our neighborhood, called Washington Square, is loved by locals and visitors alike. Just four short blocks to the ocean and the world famous Venice Beach boardwalk. The historic/gorgeous Venice Canals are two blocks north of us. The most popular street in Venice, Abbot Kinney is five blocks east of us. The Marina Del Rey Harbor is only two blocks south.
A BIT MORE ABOUT US
Joe is an animation director and producer and Lisa is a graphic designer. We mostly work at home. We are here to be not only as your host and hostess, but your guides. We have lived in Venice Beach and L.A.’s West-side for more then 30 years so if you need suggestions for the many restaurants, galleries, gardens and hikes within walking distance of our home, we can offer a wealth of information to help you plan your visit. If you prefer to be left alone, and to plan your own trip, that is fine too!
ABOUT OUR ANIMALS
We have Cats (See photos). They spend a lot of time outside sunning themselves on the patio deck. Though they are not allowed in your room-- nonetheless, we do not recommend that you stay with us if you are highly allergic to cats. We love animals, but we do not think ours would welcome yours, so no pets please. ;)
We look forward to the opportunity to help you have the best stay ever in LA/Venice!

I really enjoyed my stay with Joe & Lisa in Venice Beach, CA. They were very accommodating and are well-acquainted with the area. I couldn't have asked for a better host. And, I certainly could not have asked for a better location, a quiet neighborhood just a few short blocks from the beach and plenty of shopping, eateries and watering holes along the way to choose from. I hope to stake this real estate on my next visit!
What a fantastic welcome to la and to Venice beach. Joe and Lisa are just down to earth great people. Loved my chats with joe and the hospitality of lisa. Two of the best people in LA. You are spoilt to stay here. I will be back. 11 out of 10
We had a wonderful stay with Joe and Lisa in Venice. They were very welcoming and full of information and tips.
Lisa made a yummy breakfast each morning.
The robot room was awesome. The bed was so comfy! Even more comfy than our stay at Caesars in Vegas.
When our stay came to an end Joe even gave us a lift to the airport for much less than a taxi.
Thanks Lisa and Joe!
My boyfriend and I stayed with Lisa and Joe for two nights during a two week trip to the West coast. They were incredibly welcoming and made our stay in LA extremely comfortable. The Robot Room was fantastic - so creative! Breakfast each morning was delicious - Lisa is a fantastic chef and went out of her way to ensure all dietary requirements were catered for. They gave us a great recommendation on a suitable restaurant for Valentine's Day dinner (Primativo on Abbot Kinney) and also gave us some great tips on how to best navigate the LA traffic (thanks Joe!) We'd loved to have stayed longer...next time :)
We stayed in the Robot Room for 6 nights. It was very pleasant because the room is clean, quiet and nicely decorated. The breakfast was very good and varied practically every day. What makes the place really special though are Joe and Lisa. They went really out of their way to keep every guest 100% satisfied. The place even has a Hollywood feeling to it because of Joe's upcoming movie. The location is also great with restaurants, the beach, the canals and many more hot spots just around the corner.
My girlfriend and I were in town for an awards show and chose to stay in Lisa and Joe's awesome robot room. It was a great experience. Lisa and Joe are both very nice and accommodating. We drove down from San Francisco and got in pretty late, but they made sure that we got in and were all set. Breakfast was great. There was a very nice selection of foods and it doesn't really get better than sitting outside on the patio enjoying the beautiful SoCal weather while having breakfast. I also want to say that location means everything in Los Angeles. I lived in LA for 2.5 years and Lisa and Joe's house is in a fantastic location. It is literally a minute walk from the beautiful venice canals and about 4 blocks from the beach and venice boardwalk. Abbot Kinney is very close along with Santa Monica, Marina Del Rey, and Culver City (all great areas). My girlfriend and I hope to stay here again during our next trip to Los Angeles. We couldn't recommend it more. Thanks Lisa and Joe!
My first ever Air BnB experience and after a day or so I settled in really quickly. Joe and Lisa are a lovely chilled out couple with an excellent knowledge of the area. So lovely are they, that I extended my stay. You'll be hard pressed to find anywhere like this with excellent parking so close to the Venice and with great breakfasts in the garden. Top marks all round!
Lisa and Joe are wonderful hosts. We stayed two nights, and they were very helpful when we asked to drop off our things early - even letting us rent their bikes so we could ride around town before our official check-in time! The bikes were comfy and the perfect means to see Venice Beach and the Santa Monica pier all within an afternoon. Walking to and around the Venice Canals was also delightful. While we didn't eat at any of the restaurants within walking distance, Joe recommended a couple of them - and it's really nice how close things are, without being any bit noisy.
Breakfasts were tasty and got us off to a good start each day. Sitting on the back patio to enjoy breakfast outdoors in January was a particular treat!
The Robot Room is very comfortable, clean, and attractive - the bed was superb. Being next to the bathroom wasn't a significant issue, and we didn't have any problems with sharing the bathroom with the other guests (plan a little extra time incase someone gets in ahead of you :).
Again, Joe and Lisa were really superb hosts, ensuring our stay was comfortable and fun. We appreciated their tips about local establishments and the attractions worth seeing - even those not in their neighborhood. It was fun visiting with them over breakfasts or when we returned from our adventures. Joe shared some interesting stories about the history of LA that deepened our appreciation of what we saw. His tip about the La Brea Tar Pits was fantastic - it was one of the highlights of our trip, and one we would have missed if he hadn't pointed it out on the map! We missed a couple other destinations they suggested, so hope to pick up where we left off on our next trip :) We would happily stay with Lisa and Joe again!
We stayed for 6 nights at Lisa´s and Joe´s lovely place. We extremely enjoyed our time. Their home is perfectly located right next to the canals, the beach and some great streets with cool restaurants, bars and shops ! Joe's fascinating stories about Venice and LA (stuff you do not read in any travelers guide) gave us a interesting and closer view of the city ! The breakfast Lisa provided was delicious and sitting outside on the patio was so relaxing and peaceful.
Lisa and Joe made us feel like visiting friends ! Thanks for all !
I stayed there for two nights and they were very cool. We spent a short time with Lisa and Joe and we had a great time with them. The place looks nice and clean.
