Welcome to Bristol, and this home away from home in the lively and central neighbourhood of Totterdown, which is only a short walk from the main train station. Here you'll find your own room with nearby bathroom, speedy internet access, and free parking right next to the house.
You will be staying in an individual, architect designed two floor detached house, on a very quiet, peaceful lane with only two other houses as your neighbours. So this place is perfect for those who want a good night's sleep, while also being very close to the vibrant city centre, in an area with panoramic views of Bristol.
Presented in the style of a charming period mews cottage, the house is a stone fronted, one-off design that reflects the architecture of the original Edwardian houses in the vicinity. Despite appearances the house was only recently built, decorated and furnished, so everything inside is shiny, new and uber-stylish. Indoors the house is flooded with light, thanks to the many skylights that combine with the oak floors and doors, marble tiles and a touch of gothic decor, to make the whole place feel bright and contemporary.
Your bedroom is at the front of the house, and you can almost, but sadly not quite, see the iconic Clifton Suspension Bridge from your window (you can see it from the end of the lane though!). The room has a matching pine double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers and bed side table. The bed is a queen sized double (a couple of inches difference in width compared to a standard double).
Clean and comfy bedding, fluffy towels and toiletries are of course provided, along with some useful information about Bristol, plus tea and coffee making facilities and drinking water. In addition, a desk and chair can be placed in the room upon request. You will also find a good quality mattress, ambient lighting and unusual artworks will make for a relaxing space.
The bathroom (shared):
Fitted with a lovely steel Bette bath, you will be tempted to relax in it for hours. Unless you're more of a shower person, in which case you can enjoy the power of the shower! Fully tiled walls and floor, double mirrors and a heated towel rail makes this bathroom a joy to get ready in. This bathroom may not be en suite, but it is next to your bedroom, full size and brand new. Shower gel, hand wash and shampoo are provided along with plenty of hand and bathing towels and toilet rolls.

-Local shops, cafes and other facilities a 5 minute walk away
-Easy access to the city centre on foot
-Half a mile to Bristol Temple Meads train station (approximately a ten minute walk)
-One mile to the centre of Bristol city (approximately a twenty minute walk or 5 minute bus ride)

The house is located opposite a public hall which offers yoga and zumba every Saturday, and everyone and anyone can go along. Round the corner is a gym which is fully equipped, and open to all. Within a five minute walk there's a supermarket that's open until 10pm every day, and there's also a few independent grocery shops just as close.
Stroll along further to find a lovely range of cafes and restaurants, all no more than a ten minute walk away. Whether you're after a fry-up, fish and chips, or traditional Italian or Moroccan - it's all here!
Victoria park is a big green open space that's always open, and it's great for joggers and dog walkers, and it takes five minutes to get there on foot.
Totterdown also has a great range of local pubs, with live music and a really friendly atmosphere. Bristol is known for it's eclectic nightlife, and either a short cab or bus ride or a twenty minute stroll along the river will get you right into the centre of it all. The same goes for exploring the centre of Bristol during the day, which may include the many independent shops and markets, the imaginative street art, historical buildings or the many cultural pursuits on offer.
There's space directly in front of the house to park your car (for free) if you have one, and if not then you'll find the bus and train stops are almost as close. Bristol's main train station, Temple Meads, is where the national trains arrive and this is only a ten minute walk away. Local bus routes are only a five minute walk away, while the main bus station is also reachable on foot.
There's a main road a couple of minute's walk away, where you can easily flag a taxi should you wish to do so... Though with the city centre a mere fifteen minute walk away, you may prefer to explore Bristol on foot.
Other Things to Note
If there's anything I haven't covered - ask me! I'm always happy to oblige and I welcome any questions or requests.
Please take your shoes off when you come into the house, and leave them downstairs. You will be given your own set of keys for the house, so you may come and go as you wish at any time of the day or night. Please ensure the front door is closed behind you and your bedroom window is closed, whenever you leave the house.
Little request: when you go up the stairs, please carry your bags up to prevent damage to the wooden stairs. If you'd like to move the furniture round in the room, please ask me first so I can help and also protect the real wood flooring. Thanks!
As the house is detached and I sleep through anything, there's no rules about noise - be my guest! There's another room that is listed here on airbnb, but since it's at the opposite end of the house, the rooms aren't connected so if there are other guests staying, then no noise is audible between the two rooms. Having said that, if there are other guests staying, then please don't make any noise after 10.30pm out of consideration for them.
The wifi is an unlimited data package, so browse and download to your hearts content.
Children, families, friends and couples are all welcome, but any additional guests or visitors to the house are subject to prior arrangement. Sorry but pets cannot be accommodated.
The house is fitted with many smoke alarms, so please don't smoke in doors, the cacophony of alarms can be complicated to disengage! There's space at front of the house if you wish to smoke outside. There's also a burglar alarm fitted, but to avoid any complications I wont set it while you're staying.
Please note that this room is let on a hotel/b&b basis only, i.e. you have use of the bedroom and bathroom and there aren't any communal guest rooms. There's also the following available in endless amounts: clean towels, clean bedding, toiletries, toilet rolls, tea and coffee, drinking water... so please let me know if anything is running low so that I can replenish it.
To keep the rate low for everyone regardless of their eating preferences, and since I am often working away, the nightly rent does not include breakfast. There are many inexpensive, friendly cafes in the local area as well as grocery shops.
Before you arrive, please let me know approximately what time you expect to arrive. If you forget, I'll ask you when your booking comes through
You'll be given information about finding the house, parking, how to connect to the wireless internet, how to adjust the heating in your room, how the shower works, how to find the local shops etc. This will be printed out, as well as being online in the 'house manual' section of the listing. But feel free to ask me any questions throughout your stay as I am always on hand to help.
We didn't meet Chloe, but the information we received via email was very detailed and helpful. The house was lovely and really well presented. we enjoyed our trip.
Very convenient location for my stay during the week. Nice and quiet location. Gym a couple of minutes walk away (£9 for the week) was great value. Chloe was very quick to reply to any questions. Many thanks!
Chloe's house was very neat and clean, and our bedroom was as it looked in the pictures. It was easy to walk to from the train station and the uphill street leading up to it had lovely views out over the city.
Although she wasn't there to meet us, Chloe was very thorough in sending us all the information we needed for our stay, and even gave us some local cafe recommendations for lunch. We would definitely stay here again next time we're in Bristol.
The house is in a very quite neighbourghood and it is not far away to the train station and the city centre. The room is big and comfortable and the whole house was always very clean. So, we really has been felt like at home.
We had some great days at Chloe's house. Unfortunately we couldn't meet her but all contact via email was very friendly and helpfull. The house was nice, clean and tidy. We can absolutely recommend it and would gladly stay there again sometime. Thank you!
Another nice stay here. The double room is comfortable and spacious and location is good - not far from the station and has some good restaurants and bars nearby.
Had a nice stay at Chloe's place. Quiet and relaxed and very near a park for an evening run after work. Only 15mins walk to Temple Quay, so great if you're working there.

Hi - I'm Chloe, a freelance journalist who splits my time between Bristol and London. I've spent many years living in both wonderful cities, so I am happy to offer my insider tips on both.
I edit a quarterly travel magazine and I simply love travelling, and the thing that excites me the most about airbnb is the opportunity to meet fellow travellers. In London I ran airbnb for a friend's apartment while he was away for a few months, and I really enjoyed striking up new friendships and learning about the travel experiences that people had to share, and so it was the next natural step to become a host myself.
I am also TEFL qualified (teaching English as a foreign language) so, foreign language students are particularly welcome to visit, and may even learn the odd grammar tip! I speak very basic French and Greek, and I must say that France and Greece are two of my favourite and most frequented holiday destinations, and when I have the time to do so, I look forward to exploring the airbnb offerings in these countries.
On the weekends, I love to spend my time soaking up the arts, be it theatre, exhibitions or live music.
