We also have a large, upscale and fully-equipped kitchen. Just off the kitchen is an awesome screened-in porch which makes you feel like you're in a tree house. We have free off-street parking, wifi and cable tv.
Guests will have access to the University of North Carolina, charming, downtown Chapel Hill and Carborro as well as Research Triangle Park (15-20 minutes away). The Bolin Creek Greenway and the trails of Duke Forest are a short drive from our house.
Interaction with Guests
We will meet guests to welcome them to our home and give them a tour of the house and the keys, as well as answer any of their questions. We will also give suggestions about restaurants, cafes and things to do in or around Chapel Hill. We made a booklet with all the information about the house, and maps to our favorite cool places in Chapel Hill that we thought you may enjoy! We are just a cell phone call or text away for any additional questions that come up during your stay.
We love our neighborhood! It is quiet, walk-able, wooded and beautiful and full of friendly and helpful people. It is both centrally located yet away from the maddening crowd. The neighborhood is a big circle of houses along with several cul 'd sacs off the circle. There is very little traffic and you will see many of the neighbors walking or jogging around the circle, and the children playing and riding bikes in the cul 'd sac. There is a real spirit of community in the neighborhood!
It is best to have a car in our neighborhood, however you can walk to public transportation (buses). We are conveniently located a 7 minute drive to the UNC-Chapel Hill campus and to downtown Chapel Hill.
Take good care of our home and treat it as you would your own! No smoking is allowed inside the house or anywhere on the property, and no pets are allowed. The house may not be used for parties or events during your stay.
Diane's home is so lovely. It is in a beautiful neighborhood with a quiet quaint surrounding. It was clean, cozy and very inviting. We felt very much at home. The porch was my favorite spot, rain or shine! Thank you for opening your home to us. I would abosolutely stay there again, and I highly recommend it to anyone.
This was a beautiful home. The woodwork and kitchen are gorgeous. My favorite part was the covered porch behind the kitchen where you can sit and look at the trees, listen to birds or the rain, and have a cup of coffee. Very private space with a lot of personal touches around the house. Comfortable and clean.
This home was perfect for our family's Christmas "home away from home" celebration. It was so clean, inviting, and cozy and was located in a great neighborhood that was convenient to so much. The kitchen was great and had all we needed for family meals plus it was a great place to hang out and visit while we cooked. The home had all the comforts and conveniences too -- well stocked kitchen with dishes/cookware/utensils, washer/dryer, TV, DVD player, internet, spacious bedrooms and bathrooms, and great living areas to relax in. Our host was so gracious and meet us on our first day to show us around and tell us about the place, besides leaving us a note and her phone number for any needs. I would definitely come back again when we are in the area and highly recommend this house to others.
Diane's house was wonderful, nested in a wooded neighborhood with easy access to Chapel Hill and UNC campus (several bus routes to UNC serve this area). We stayed with our daughter and we enjoyed both the area and the house itself which was plenty of space for the 3 of us and the overflowing energy of a 3 years old. We would definitely advise it to families with young kids. Diane was extremely kind and very helpful when planning this trip. The fridge was stocked with milk and OJ among other things. It was like coming home!! We would definitely stay at Diane's house if we were to travel again to Chapel Hill. Thank you so much for everything Diane!
The Chapel Hill home was absolutely cozy & charming. We felt at ease immediately with Diane who gave us a tour, explained all the details of appliances, provided keys and even had fresh flowers for our welcome! I would recommend this house if you're visiting the area for a quiet, relaxing and comfortable stay.
Diane has a beautiful house in a quiet neighborhood of Chapel Hill. It is nearby great coffee shops, restaurants, and hiking spots. It is a great place for kids with many attractions nearby. I would highly recommend Diane's house for any families coming to the area. We have stayed their twice and look forward to our next stay!
Diane was a wonderful host and her house was perfect! She was prompt in all communication, warmly greeted us upon arrival, and made sure we were comfortable in her home. She even went so far as to stock her fridge with fresh milk, and left us bagels, homemade granola, and coffee for breakfast! This cozy home is located on a quiet, beautiful neighborhood in Chapel Hill that was close to everything. My favorite part is the screened in porch in the backyard - perfect for hanging out or having dinner. Diane was incredibly kind, and I would recommend staying at her home to anyone looking for a cozy getaway.
