  • My son and I stayed at Urban Delight from 4/2-4/6. We had a really great time. Rob's place has everything one needs. The location is perfect with lots of things to do. And all that within walking distance!
I had the pleasure to spend a little time with Rob and Debbie over a glass of wine.
I would highly recommend Rob's place to anyone.
I will be back to stay soon, too.

  • What a great getaway! Smack dab in the middle of two great neighborhoods, this urban apartment with beautiful backyard was a treat! Highly recommended for those traveling who want a balance between nature and urbanity. Rob was a great and accommodating host who recommended some great restaurants and venues for live music!

  • The reservation process couldn't have been easier and I got a great feeling from Rob's communications that this would be low-stress, which it was. All the information was given and was easy to understand. The place looks just like the pictures. Rob and Debbi were both super friendly and helpful with everything. We didn't get to hang with them or use the hot tub, we were busy househunting, but it was so nice to come back to a comfortable, quiet, and very centrally located space. I wouldn't hesitate to book it again.

  • Very cozy, nicely furnished apartment on the 2nd floor. Nice backyard and prime location for exploring Portland. I would recommend Rob's place to anyone visiting for the first time.

  • We had a wonderful stay at Rob's apartment. We were with the four of us which was a bit cramped at moments. The second bed is a sofa bed in the sitting room. Rob kindly brought us some more chairs so we could sit at the table with four. The apartment is very good situated. You are in walking distance from nice places where you can drink coffee or eat out. Even the health food store is close by. The place was clean and comfortabel. We did not hear other people in the building. We could very easily drive up to Lewis & Klark where we visited our son.
We found a nice surprise when we arrived, thank to Rob and Debbie

  • We arrived late in the midst of a winter ice storm. The instructions for getting there and entry were perfect. The space was clean and comfortable. We spent more time on site than expected as it was so cold and icy outside and the hot tub though shared with other units was warm and lovely and largely unoccupied. The bed was quite firm and there were lots of pillows and a comforter for the bed so snuggling up with cocoa worked out well. I would stay here again.

  • Rob's place is so charming and lovely! My girlfriend and I stayed here for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed the vintage style, including real old vinyl records and a vintage record player! Rob made everything easy from instructions on how to get into the place, to surprising us with a free bottle of wine, to going the extra mile to return our hairdryer after we had checked out. The hot tub and backyard fire pit are really nice. The bed was comfortable and the sleeping was quiet. It's also within easy walking distance of great food or a short drive to Downtown or the Pearl. We would stay at Rob's place again in a heartbeat!

  • This address had all we were looking for: comfort, location, atmosphere. The guest/guide book was much appreciated. We know the Portland area a bit, and felt at home to explore more.

About
I've recently retired my practice of many years as a psychotherapist and am opening this new chapter 1) running my 1899 Victorian Farmhouse Fourplex as a guesthouse for travelers and visitors and 2) exploring the intercoastal waters of Puget Sound, Southern BC and Vancouver Island via sailboat. I've sailed the last two summers into what I call the Tropical Alpine waters of Desolation Sound. I will be going again this summer as well. I love jazz (I bang out a decent amateur clarinet), water, people, reading, comedy, salmon, red wine and Amy Goodman and the fine (email hidden). I enjoy meeting thoughtful, mindful, playful, friendly people from all over. As a host I'm fun, casual, curious about everything, capable as a landlord. I've lived in this neighborhood over 20 years and can help you get your bearings. When I travel I prefer bouncing aimlessly towards various convergence points with friends usually to sail or ski.
