In the countryside of Entre Deux Mers between Bordeaux and St Emilion the cottage with its private garden overlooking the field and vinyards is the perfect way to feel that this corner of France is yours to discover.
Across the court yard from our family home and B&B the 18th C. renovated cottage sleep two to three with either a queen size bed or two twins. There is another single bed on the mezanine and we have a baby bed available. The kitchen, large enough to eat in with friends around the table has an electric oven/microwave and gas tabletop burners, fridge and washing machine. The bathroom has a large skylit shower. The cottage, available year round has underfloor hot water heating.
The cottage has it's private garden with a stone picnic table, garden chairs and BBQ. Our private family pool, down the road 1 mile at our farm annex, is open to our guests...so you don't have to worry about noise and children jumping in unnoticed while your at the cottage. You're welcome to help your selves to our garden vegetables and daily fresh farm eggs. A large fenced in field and swings just beyond the the cottage's own garden is a good place for children to run around when our B&B guests aren't taking their nap in the hamac !
Interaction with Guests
As a French American family with grown children we of course enjoy getting to know our guests and sharing our ideas and suggestions for visiting the area and have you join us for a cup of tea ...or a glass of wine. . However, we also understand if you might like to be competly on your own and enjoy the privacy of the cottage and it's garden.
We're usually inbetween our two homes, La Forge and Le Moulin (a 14th C water mill on our farm just down the road). If we have B&B guests at La Forge we're often your neighbors otherwise we'll be working in the garden at Le Moulin. The Moulin kitchen is where the cooking classes with local chefs take place as well as once a week "guest table". You're welcome to sign up as it's a great way to get to know the local french as well as our other guests.
Carol and Bruno's property was an idyllic dream for a stop on our honeymoon. The cottage is larger in person than the images appear, with a beautiful main space and a good sized kitchen. Carol was helpful and accommodating throughout, providing us with great info about the area and even making a dinner reservation for us prior to the evening of our arrival at a wonderful restaurant nearby in Creon. I only wish we had been able to stay longer (or forever!), and immerse ourselves more fully in Entre Deux Mers. Definitely a highlight of our trip.
We really loved Carol and Bruno's adorable cottage. It is located about half an hour to Bordeaux and fifteen minutes to St. Emillion, so it is very convenient. The cottage is decorated beautifully and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Carol was very helpful and booked dinner on our first night. She also left us a bottle if wine to enjoy. I would recommend this property to other people traveling in the area.
It's hard to write about how much we enjoyed our stay with Carol and Bruno, because remembering it makes us desperate to go back. Three of us stayed in the cottage for eleven days, including my wife and I, who especially enjoyed driving around the Gironde visiting small villages, markets and wine co-ops, plus our three-year-old daughter who would love nothing more than to go back to chasing rabbits in the garden and paddling in the swimming pool down the road. Ultimately, it was Carol and Bruno's warm hospitality, genius decor and useful local knowledge that made the trip such a joy. Thank you!
This is a wonderful place to stay, incredibly picturesque and in a lovely setting. The cottage and grounds are charming, perfect for a romantic getaway. We enjoyed sitting out on the deckchairs in the garden, watching the sunset with a glass of wine at the end of the day.
Carol and Bruno were perfect hosts, very friendly, informative and accomodating and did everything in their power to make our stay enjoyable. We would definitely recommend the cottage and will certainly be back again in future.
Carol's place was a really wonderful AirBnB find, which we would highly recommend to friends and other users. The cottage, separated from the main house, was beautiful and had great amenities. Well situated in the wine region not far from Bordeaux and St. Emilion with vineyards practically in the backyard. La Forge itself was a great place to relax with a large garden and one of the best sunsets in France. Carol was a brilliant hostess and really friendly, a font of knowledge on markets/restaurants/wineries, which we found very helpful. We would definitely return to this charming cottage!
David and I were over the moon with how wonderful the chateau and Carol were! We were on our honeymoon and had rented a car and were "winging it" for places to stay. When we drove into the Bordeaux region, we found that hotels on any of the major booking sites were slim pickings, so we tried Airbnb and saw this one available. The price was reasonable and the amenities quite plush, considering the age of the house. It was like a dream of the French countryside. Plenty of hot water, a clothes-washer, kitchen and wired internet.
What a wonderful place to stay at! i highly reccommend Carol and Bruno and their delightful houses! Carol was really helpful and wanted to help us make the most of our stay, Carol went beond her means to make the stay as unforgettable as possible! Our 18th century cottage was idyllic for the romantic french getaway we were looking for. We are certain that we will return to La Forge soon! For those of you looking for the romantic french wineyard gem, stay with them! You won´t regret it...

I'm a french american who has been living in France most of my life. I've run a B&B for many years and I organise personalised specialty tours (cooking, wine, gardens, brocant and contempory art)... as well as being an agent for european performing artists who perform for children and family audiences in North America and Asia. My husband, Bruno, is a psychatrist in Bordeaux and a passionat cook and gardener. We both love working on our 14th and 18th century houses, we have a very messy wood shop where we seem to have never ending projects and every year we have new hopes for our gardens that keep us busy. However, we like to take time to enjoy my four children (who are spread out between several countrys) and our grandchildren... as well as our guests who often become good friends !
