Our house is located on a picturesque little street right by the arena. Enjoy the charm of an authentic "arlésienne" house, and a cosy bedroom!

The Space

Our stone townhouse has been renovated over the past seven years safekeeping the authentic spirit of local architecture.

The room is at the groundfloor and has an independant access. This is a master bedroom with a private WC and tropical-marble mosaic shower, a queen size bed and a decent amount of storage space for clothes and belongings.

Coffe & tea are available in the room and you can also use the kitchen and help yourself with the breakfast (tea, coffee, cereals, milk, bread & croissants)

Guest Access

The bedroom has an independant access. You will have access to the kitchen and the living-room, where you can have breakfast in the morning & cook anytime you want.

Interaction with Guests

We will do our best to help you to organize your venue in Arles. We're both working the whole day but we love to take some time with our guests in the evening. Obviously, we're available anytime if you have any question or request.

The Neighborhood

Arles is best known for its Antique Roman heritage, giving it's small streets a picturesque and Provence feeling among the main Roman architectural monuments the city has conserved (in rather good conditions).

Our home is located in the heart of the city center. It is a quiet and friendly street (where you'll most probably see a cat or two sitting on a window ledge...) a step away from the roman Amphitheater and a five minute walk from town hall.
In our neck of the woods you'll find a nice Italian restaurant around the corner, a few secondhand shops, small bakeries, cafés, chocolate/coffee shops as well as high end clothing or wine shops.
The weekly street market (food/clothes...) in Arles is the largest in the region along with Aix-en-Provence, and is held on Saturday mornings. A smaller version is held on Wednesdays.

From a point of view located near the amphitheater, you can look out on the most western part of the Alpilles mountainous range, that extends roughly 25-30km from the Rhône to the Durance valley. Only a 15 minute drive from town, the Alpilles boast of pretty villages, scenic routes in beautiful landscapes, and trails you can hike or bike on.
Vincent van Gogh often painted the Alpilles and spent some time in Arles before passing away. His passage in Arles has left humanity with some of his most appreciated works. The Foundation Van Gogh is due to re-open in their new facilities in April 2014.

Last but not least, Arles was for the Romans and still (email hidden) to live in, as it is the capital of the Camargue. With it's Delta and it's Regional Natural Park (salt marsh, wetlands, horses, flamingos...) the Camargue is a must see for bird lovers.

Getting around

Arles' location makes it a 25 minute drive to Nîmes,
35 minutes to Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer,
40 minutes to Avignon,
55 minute drive to either Aix-en-provence, Marseille, Marseille Airport or (website hidden) is roughly 3h30 minutes by train.
Our home is within 10 minutes walking distance from the train station.

  • We felt very welcome in Chloe and Damien's home. The house is right around the corner from the Roman Arena, which is great since you're close to basically everything in Arles and it's nice to see the Arena at any time of the day. The room was comfortable and the shower is the awesome. We'd been traveling through Europe for more than a month and the shower was the best we'd experienced. Just as a heads up, the room is at street level so you might hear some noise from passersby. We were also able to use their kitchen, keep items in their fridge and wash/dry some clothes, which we happily took advantage of. They also prepared breakfast each morning for us (cereals, coffee, bread, & jams). We highly recommend staying here! Make sure to head to the Wednesday and Saturday markets if you do!

  • Chile and Damien's place is very centrally located and practically next door to the Arles amphitheater. It is a cool townhouse and the bedroom is very cool and clean.
They are gracious hosts who are willing to give suggestions and help with restaurants booking. I could even use their washer and dryer, which meant a great deal to me at the time. If you come to Arles, I highly recommend this home stay option!

  • I had a fantastic stay for four nights in Chloé and Damien's lovely, private, ground floor "apartment" (bedroom, shower, toilet and sitting area), on a quiet street, just near the amphitheatre. Damien and Chloé were very friendly and welcoming, and it was a pleasure to share breakfast with them. Arles itself (email hidden), and this B&B is very convenient to all the monuments. Highly recommended!

  • My husband and I enjoyed our stay in Arles with Chloe and Damien. They are wonderful Hosts. Both were very helpful with sight seeing suggestions and their restaurant recommendations were much appreciated. The location is right downtown Arles within a short walk to the Roman Forum. Their home is a vintage townhouse from the 19th century, beautifully remodeled. Our room and bath was very cozy and comfortable. Both Damien and Chloe speak English and that was most helpful. We highly recommend their place in the beautiful Provence area of France.
