About this listing
Gusts adore the location and the light, clean second floor space.
Urban Downtown! Just off the North West Corner of Taos Plaza is a fabulous building that was once the winter home of the Santistevan Family. Renovated in 2009, this Historic Hacienda now is home to Antonio's Restaurant and to Living Designs Group Architects. In the summer there flows a tiered fountain in the courtyard, surrounded by walls of Hollyhocks. In the winter the snows of Taos Mountain are visible from the front room. Taos Plaza, place of live music, holiday festivals and Fiesta are just across the street.
My husband and Architect Doug Patterson and I have just renovated this space. It serves as a vacation rental to lots of Taos visitors and also as our guest house. We love this property, it is truly one of the gems of Taos.
High quality linens: 100% cotton, high thread count. Clean and bright. Lots of space. Newly renovated.
This apartment has lots of natural light and an urban feel due to it's downtown location. Ski, raft, hike, trail run, mountain bike, visit the skate park or peruse the galleries during the day. Shree Yoga is a block away with as many as 5 classes per day. Take a Photography Tour with a local photographer. Walk to restaurants, live music or take a walking ghost tour of the Historic Downtown Taos in the eve. Or one can simply be served by Antonio's fabulous staff on the front porch. They make excellent fresh guacamole right at the table. Live music in the courtyard on summer evenings.
If you like to have the ability to walk places and experience the heart of downtown, this is the place for you; as urban as it gets for Taos.
No smoking anywhere on property. If smoking on street please pick up your butts. If you end up having extra people with you, no problem, just let us know.
2 night minimum. Cleaning Fee. Cleaning during your stay can be arranged. Please begin sheets in washer when you are leaving.
This place is in an urban setting. There is live music on summer nights in the courtyard. This is Taos, so the night life usually doesn't go past 10:30 PM. We want you to enjoy your stay, so please communicate if there is something we can help with.
About the Host, Page
I was a mountain girl climbing and hiking and doing yoga for many years when I met my husband Doug in Taos New Mexico. He had just finished Architecture school. We built an Earthship on the Taos Mesa, had two babies in a tipi with mid wives all the while I threw pots, started a clay center and Doug was building an Architecture Firm: Living Designs Group. Now I am part of a family of four and we ski and raft and climb and trail run and go to the skate park travel and take care of properties and projects for ourselves and others. I am very happy to call Taos home, now and for the past 20 years. It's a fabulous, mountainous, gorgeous place!
