Welcome to this turn-of-the-century complete and private luxury apartment. This space is one of the finely refinished units of a fourplex located in close-in Central Eastside Portland, in the Buckman neighborhood.
This spacious and complete one bedroom apartment is ideal for guests who would enjoy a blend of proximity to all things Portlandia and a friendly, respectful and very clean place to call home away from home.
The living room boasts beautifully crafted white oak floors, towering ceilings throughout, an instant-on gas fireplace featuring a local hand-crafted tile hearth. Snuggle up with a book and a bff on the fine black leather pull out sleeper (premium mattress) sectional. This unit offers spectacular tower speakers, stereo, through your local stations or Direct TV (42" LED Flatscreen).

Interaction with Guests
It depends, sometimes a lot, sometimes not. We've met a wonderful bundle of visitors and love the flow and fascination with meeting people from all over.
Our hope is to profile a comfortable, friendly, inviting, supportive, fun, relaxed, warm, fulfilling atmosphere for our guests, whatever their pleasure or business.
Sometimes this means we provide the home base and you're out doing your thing, other times it means we get to know each other over a bottle of wine in the back deck while fireworks blast.
There's a main bus hub two blocks from here. You can easily get to downtown Portland, either by walking (1.1 miles) biking or bus. In general the public transportation in Portland is excellent.
If you bring a car our street parking is free and easy (generally) in the front of the property.
Please contact property owner to prepare jetted hot tub, BBQ and fire pit for use.
Quiet time after 10pm on week nights, 11pm on weekends.

It was a real treat to stay at Rob's place. I don't meet many of my Airbnb hosts, so it was awesome to meet Rob and Jennifer. The place was exactly as described, very clean (and color coordinated!), and in a good location. I appreciated the amenities and the welcome binder. I'll definitely stay here the next time I'm in town; I hope to try out the hot tub when it's not so cold!
An enjoy and comfortable space, easy for me and mom to settle in for a holiday visit to Portland. Traveling from Boston, we loved staying in a safe neighborhood with fantastic restaurants near by, coffee shops and a Whole Foods Market. Rob was very prompt in his communication, and when I forgot to print off the check in sheet, he was reassuring and helpful. We had a perfect 1st experience with Airbnb.
Staying with Rob is always a pleasure. He's a responsive host, and the space is impeccably clean.
Rob made it very easy to check in and out. The apartment was very clean and comfortable. We found quite a few attractions and places to eat in the neighborhood. A very nice stay!
Very nice, spacious, modern style apartment with a well equipped kitchen in a nice neighborhood with good bars & restaurants; organization and communication with Rob was very easy and efficient; can definitely recommend this place for groups of 2-4 that want to explore the city.
Wonderful apartment in a great neighborhood. Plenty of space inside and out for a family of 4. We even entertained friends in the back yard - great grill, seating area and hot tub. Excellent qaulity through out: towels, sheets, appliances, WiFi and more were all top quality. Thanks Rob!
What a great place in the Buckman neighborhood! Incredibly simple, secure access upon arrival. Lots of great restaurants and cafes nearby. Large, very spacious living area in a charming historic home. Comfortable and attractive modern decor. Fantastic backyard patio space.
Thanks for your thoughtful review Neil. I couldn't agree more about easy rental bikes close at hand. We have been looking for two years now. Most are insanely priced as rentals (Portlanders love their bikes like some love their children!). We have one shop we recommend that has high quality touring bikes, reasonably priced.

I've recently retired my practice of many years as a psychotherapist and am opening this new chapter 1) running my 1899 Victorian Farmhouse Fourplex as a guesthouse for travelers and visitors and 2) exploring the intercoastal waters of Puget Sound, Southern BC and Vancouver Island via sailboat. I've sailed the last two summers into what I call the Tropical Alpine waters of Desolation Sound. I will be going again this summer as well.
I love jazz (I bang out a decent amateur clarinet), water, people, reading, comedy, salmon, red wine and Amy Goodman and the fine (email hidden).
I enjoy meeting thoughtful, mindful, playful, friendly people from all over.
As a host I'm fun, casual, curious about everything, capable as a landlord. I've lived in this neighborhood over 20 years and can help you get your bearings.
When I travel I prefer bouncing aimlessly towards various convergence points with friends usually to sail or ski.
