Interaction with Guests
It depends, sometimes a lot, sometimes not. We've met a wonderful bundle of visitors and love the flow and fascination with meeting people from all over.
Our hope is to profile a comfortable, friendly, inviting, supportive, fun, relaxed, warm, fulfilling atmosphere for our guests, whatever their pleasure or business.
Sometimes this means we provide the home base and you're out doing your thing, other times it means we get to know each other over a bottle of wine in the back deck while fireworks blast.
There's a main bus hub two blocks from here. You can easily get to downtown Portland, either by walking (1.1 miles) biking or bus. In general the public transportation in Portland is excellent.
If you bring a car our street parking is free and easy (generally) in the front of the property.
Please contact property owner to prepare jetted hot tub, BBQ and fire pit for use.
Quiet time after 10pm on week nights, 11pm on weekends.

We had an absolute blast staying at Rob's place. The apartment was spacious and roomy and made for a great place to crash after eating our way through Portland. We particularly enjoyed listening to the great sound system in the morning while we plotted out our day. We look forward to returning soon. This was truly the best Air BnB experience we've had.
Rob was a great host! He was very communicative and made us feel so welcome in his place. Check-in couldn't have been easier. The apartment was spotless and had tons of natural light. It was really comfortable—just like being at home. We also loved how easy it was to walk to nearby places to eat. Overall, a really terrific experience.
I had a very nice stay at Rob's place. He was easy to coordinate with and responsive. Never ran into him, but he was there if I needed him. I was happily greeted with a welcome package. The apartment was inviting and clean. I loved the fireplace and hot tub. Also, the location was convenient to everything I wanted to see and do during my visit. A great place to stay!
Rob made everything very easy and even greeted us with a bottle of wine! The place was very clean and accommodating, although we barely used it as we were walking all over town exploring most of the time. Portland was fantastic and this location was perfect for us. Next time we'll definitely try out the hot tub!
Rob was an excellent host. The pictures don't do the place justice; it's cute, comfortable, and functional. The neighborhood is fun and accessible via foot (and of course by bicycle!) You owe it to yourself to visit.

About the Host, Rob
I've recently retired my practice of many years as a psychotherapist and am opening this new chapter 1) running my 1899 Victorian Farmhouse Fourplex as a guesthouse for travelers and visitors and 2) exploring the intercoastal waters of Puget Sound, Southern BC and Vancouver Island via sailboat. I've sailed the last two summers into what I call the Tropical Alpine waters of Desolation Sound. I will be going again this summer as well.
I love jazz (I bang out a decent amateur clarinet), water, people, reading, comedy, salmon, red wine and Amy Goodman and the fine (email hidden).
I enjoy meeting thoughtful, mindful, playful, friendly people from all over.
As a host I'm fun, casual, curious about everything, capable as a landlord. I've lived in this neighborhood over 20 years and can help you get your bearings.
When I travel I prefer bouncing aimlessly towards various convergence points with friends usually to sail or ski.
