Our new carriage house is a private retreat in our East Nashville neighborhood. We are close to downtown and a block from the city bus line. It comfortably accommodates two and is next to a large city park. Enjoy the private suite with full bath.
Our guest suite is a private room and bath above our detached garage. The garage is 2012 construction in our historical neighborhood. We will be staying in the main home on our property while you enjoy the privacy of your separate space. The accommodations are similar to a hotel room: queen bed, a full size leather sleeper sofa, TV, sitting table, and bathroom with shower. Parking is available on our driveway or on the street in front of our house.
The suite has central air conditioning and heat and lots of windows. The TV is digital over the air broadcast with approximately 20 channels. The space is on the second floor up one flight of stairs.
In addition to your private guest suite over the garage, you will have access to our backyard and screen porch. The porch is perfect for relaxing in front of a fire on a cool evening, watching TV, or just relaxing.
Interaction with Guests
Our interaction with you varies depending on our schedule and your preference. We love our Nashville and are happy to point you towards recommended sites or restaurants.
We are a quiet retreat in the middle of it all. We are close to our neighborhood hot spot, the Five Points district, and within walking distance of several popular restaurants. We are at the edge of our East Nashville neighborhood next to the city’s largest park. Enjoy the stars and the quiet solitude while being only minutes away from the Country Music Hall of Fame, museums, and more.
Shelby Park is a large city park next to our home. It features a public golf course, driving range, tennis courts, playgrounds, duck pond, ball fields, and green way, a linear park along the Cumberland River.
We are happy to point you in the right direction for sightseeing and dining. We love our city and look forward to your visit.
Downtown and the rest of Nashville is easily accessible by car, MTA bus, cab, or bike.
Bus #4 (Shelby) stops 1 block from the house. Nashville's bike share program, called B Cycle, has a bike kiosk at Five Points (8 blocks).
If you have an interest in borrowing a bicycle during your stay, please inquire with us.

Wow! What a great stay, even despite an ice storm! John and Mike maintain one of the nicest places I have visited through airbnb. The space was conveniently located in a very hip east Nashville neighborhood. Communication was a breeze. And the small gestures were too numerous to remember, but I do recall a really excellent self-curated guidebook to the city and little treats strategically placed throughout the Carriagehouse. I can't say enough about their space. We definitely hope to return when the weather is a little nicer.
John & Mike's carriage house worked perfectly. Very clean and inviting. Another winner from airbnb !!
John and Mike were unbelievably gracious hosts during our stay in Nashville. Unfortunately we only got to meet John for about 15 minutes but between the car ride, the custom getting around guide and the Goo-Goo bars on our pillows we certainly felt the southern hospitality. Their carriage house is immaculate, comfortable and private. This airbnb experience is as good as it gets.
Amazing place, amazing location. We actually never crossed paths with John and Mike, but we had everything we needed, and the apartment was clean and cozy.
This was the third time we have stayed at Mike and John's carriage house. That alone should tell you how much we like it. Always clean and well stocked with fresh towels , water , snacks and those goo goo candies on the pillows. The location is in a great old neighborhood close to downtown but there are some cool restaurants within walking distance. The hosts are quite accommodating and make sure that everything is just right. We really can't say enough good things about staying here. Not sure when we'll be back in Nashville but we will stay here again.
This was our third visit to Mike and John's carriage house. As always everything was great , very clean with all you need while staying there. This is a great location close to downtown but also with some cool restaurants right in the neighborhood.Mike and John are always easy to contact and ready to help with any questions you might have. We had to extend our stay due to a blizzard back home and they were most accommodating to our needs, great guys it is people like this that make AirBnB successful.
The space was beautiful and well kept. It was tastefully furnished and decorated, it also lived up to all the photos and the other reviews left. The small things were what topped this sundae i.e. snack, water, coffee, and even the post paid Nashville cards that you can send to friends or family. The location was absolutely perfect 5 minute drive to downtown but just far enough away that it is was very quiet and relaxing. The porch that we had access to was great as well, we lit a small fire on one of the nights before heading downtown. All in all, we had a fantastic time and slept very comfortably. When we come back to Nashville this is where we will stay again and again.
John travels a lot, mostly for work. We enjoy seeing our country's diverse landscapes and meeting new people.
We began hosting in the spring of 2013, so we've now used Airbnb to both travel and host. We enjoy the Airbnb platform and its trusting environment.
