THE DESCRIPTION: This is for a PRIVATE apt in the East Village ideal for a couple, single or small family with 1-2 children. This can work for 2 couples with one couple on the sofa bed, but I suggest looking at my other 2 or 3 bedroom listings if you're more than 4 people.

All who stay will experience living in a fantastic apartment in NYC while saving a few bucks from pricey NYC hotels that are located in the heart of the tourist frenzy areas in midtown. It's new, very clean and is in a great location, being only 2 minute walk to subway or less than a minute to a bus stop.

The apartment has a large bedroom, full bathroom, fully stocked kitchen and living room with sofa (pull out bed), HD TV, WiFi and includes breakfast items. This apartment is on the 3rd floor of a modern, elevator building which faces South (sunny and bright, with excellent breezy ventilation or A/C) and is across the street from a school, so it's quiet at night and in the mornings on weekends!

Prices (USD), not including Airbnb fees:

$ 225 / night single or double occupancy . Extra people charge is $ 30/night per person.

Stays less than 6 nights are $ 225 night (Mon-Thurs) and $ $ 250/night on weekends (Fri,Sat,Sun), plus extra people charges.

There is a $ 250 security deposit which you will get back at check out, unless there are damaged / missing items or if my apartment smells like cigarettes!

Prices may vary due to other circumstances as well. During summer months (May through September), the minimum stay is 3 nights (on weekends). I will occasionally book 1 or 2 night stays if they add or it precedes or adds to an existing reservation.

The unit has a fully stocked kitchen: full size fridge/freezer, dishwasher, gas stove/oven, microwave, top of the line stainless cookware, utensils, dishware, glassware and a full bathroom with a tub.

There is a laundry room in the basement if you feel like doing laundry, or a dry cleaner half a block away.

The Building and Neighborhood: This ELEVATOR building complex has 12 units, mostly 2 bedrooms, and there are 2 apartments on each floor.

LOCATION:

2 minute walk to subway (L Train)
1 minute walk to Bus (M15)
10 minute walk to Union Square (every single subway is accessible from)
20-30 minute walk to midtown (Empire State Building, Times Square, Madison Square Garden)

This neighborhood is very lively after the sun goes down. The East Village has been heavily built up over the last 5 years and located in one of the most desirable neighborhoods in Manhattan. The East Village offers a variety of restaurants, cafes, bars and a beautiful park. You can walk to Indian, Russian, Italian, Mexican, Japanese, Chinese, Thai, Vegetarian and American restaurants within a 5 block radius. If you're too tired and beat up from touring NYC and don't feel like going anywhere, you can simply order room service and have anything delivered to the room (usually until 11 pm or midnight) as there are plenty of menus from all the nearby food establishments. These little privately owned restaurants are MUCH better than midtown/tourist-trap food chain places as well. There are at least three 24/hr places to get food within 2 blocks and about 50 restaurant/bars/cafes and shopping within a 3 block radius and probably 500 within a 10 block radius. This building is one of only a few in the neighborhood that has an elevator. About 95% of the buildings in the area are walk-ups. Enjoy a beautiful park (Tompkins Square) 2 blocks away the East River waterfront park about 5 streets/blocks to the east.

For additional fees, I can be your personal tour guide to all the tourist attractions in NYC or Long Island. At no additional charge, I'm happy to recommend the cool, not-in-the-guide-books places for nightlife or dinner or anything else you may seek while in NYC!

ADDITIONAL INFO / CHARGES:

For stays of more than 7 nights, a small deposit may be required pending on length of requested stay.

The bedroom is for a single person or couple. There is a sofa that pulls out into bed (full size and actually quite comfortable!). Additional guests more than 2 are $ 30 per person per night. Maximum is 4 adults or 5 if small children as I have an air mattress as well. My place is kid friendly and can provide a pack and play (crib type) and small air mattresses for the little ones.

Cleaning charges: NO EXTRA CHARGE for up to 7 nights. Stays more than 7 nights are $ 60 which you will pay directly to house cleaner who will come and clean apt and do laundry (towels + sheets) once per week (Mon or Tues).

Linens: Clean when you arrive.

Towels: Clean when you arrive.

Breakfast: Included in price, to help start your days. Coffee, Tea, Juice, Pastries or Bagels or Cereal, milk or whatever else you want! I'll take your breakfast order after you book your stay.

  • Very nice, clean and welcoming apartment in one of the best NYC areas. Bruce was an amazing host, giving us all the best advices of the area and letting us find breakfast stuff based on our requests. I would definitely go back in his place.

  • Bruce was friendly and flexible by letting us drop off our bags early, which I really appreciated. The space was spacious, and breakfast foods were kindly provided. Bruce wants his guests to be comfortable and is responsive to feedback.

  • A perfect place to stay while in New York , loved my apartment and neighbourhood around . Spacious and well ventilated rooms and big windows makes (email hidden) to stay .

  • Bruce was an incredibly warm host and his apartment was exactly what we hoped we would find (email hidden) experience. The apartment itself was very nicely appointed, clean, and comfortable. Everything worked perfectly and Bruce went above-and-beyond the call of duty to make sure our stay was a pleasant one and had great recommendations for us. He even tried to figure out how to get us some Yankee tickets in time (until I said I would be wearing my Athletics hat to the game). We stayed here with our 2 year-old and it was more-than-enough room for all three of us.

  • The location was perfect for us. East village is awesome and this was right in the middle of it. The apartment building was nice, neighbors were nice and the roof top was super rad!

The CitiBikes were awesome! and there were two locations within a two blocks.

Bruce was nice and welcoming, left us to it and was there if we needed.

  • My wife and I traveled from the west coast to New York for a graduation. Our stay was 10 days and we wanted to experience New York from the perspective of a New Yorker, as closely as possible. We decided to stay in the East Village per the recommendation of my son and daughter in law.

In looking at the available apartments in the East Village area we decided to stay at Bruce's Best Weston 2. What a great decision. The neighborhood was vibrant with restaurants, bars, shops and everything else you could imagine.

Bruce was awesome. Our flights were delayed so we arrived about an hour and half later than expected. Not a problem, Bruce stayed up and waited for us. He showed us the apartment and told about a few places in the neighborhood that we should check out. The apartment was absolutely perfect my wife and I, and have enough room to sleep two more adults if need be. The apartment building has a doorman so not just anybody can access the building, and a roof top deck that gives you a great view of the city.

Bruce had breakfast items for us so we could grab a bite real quick before we headed out to see New York. Bruce's place was everything we expected and more, and he made our stay perfect. If there was anything we needed he was right there, even dropped us a bottle of champagne.

If you are making a trip to The Big Apple, stay in the East Village, and (email hidden) Weston 2, or the Best Weston 1, Bruce gave me a tour of it and it was awesome as well.

Bruce thanks for everything, we had a great time and you had a lot to do with that.

  • Bruce and his girlfriend were great hosts! Bruce was very prompt and reliable in responding to emails, and (email hidden) was as advertised, if not better. We were first time users of Airbnb and Bruce made the process very simple and enjoyable. His pad is in a great part of the city (I used to live in NYC) and convenient to great shopping, restaurants and action. The rooftop views of the building complex he is in are awesome! Definite huge added bonus to an already cool spot and cool neighborhood. We would definitely look to stay with the mustachioed Bruce again if the opportunity arises!

About
Update February 2014 - After 3 great years of success renting out rooms in my apartment, I now have another apartment for my painting studio / office to rent when I'm not working on a project, and I also take care of renting out my friend's apartment here in the East Village. Rather than looking through all my listings and confusing yourself, I suggest just shooting me a message and let me know your dates, the make up of your party (singles/couples/kids/grand peeps, sorry no pets) and any special needs you may desire. Take a look at my reviews and well, yeah, you'll get the picture.. I'll be delighted to add you to my wonderful guest list now topping 38 different countries! As you'll see my original profile info below, I'm quite happy to say the last 3 years have been wonderful. I've met so many great people, both here and on my travels and having me as your host, will make your life easier here in the Big Apple. Pleasure, business or both I'm happy to share my vast NYC knowledge with you. June 1, 2010: As a long time resident of NY, I've been living in NYC for the past 5 years, but grew up in the suburbs about 30 miles east on Long Island. Currently, I'm working as an Interior designer / General Contractor with an emphasis on performing the finish work myself and crew(s). After traveling all around the U.S.A. for a Sales job for a few years after graduating college, I've learned a ton about the hospitality business, traveling in general and have how to treat people by doing my very best to surpass expectations. I provide excellent customer service, clean rooms in a great neighborhood, all in a beautiful apartment in the best city in the world, New York City!
