Just over a mile from the ocean & beach bike path, & only 2 miles from Kealia, one of Kaua'i's best beaches for both surfing & swimming, & close to the local shuttle bus route which connects to the island-wide bus system (so if your budget is tight & time is not so much of a factor, you don't HAVE to rent a car). This quiet, East-facing, sunny, self-contained, separate but attached to main house/duplex-style apartment is a 'wing' of the main house, but with it's own entrance well away from the main road, a parking space for 1 vehicle (outside, but off-road), a private garden & patio (with outdoor furniture - & smoking is permitted here), and private entrance to bedroom which has a mirrored closet, plus a 'love-seat' wicker sofa, bookcase & reading lamp; own full bathroom, and own full & fully-equipped kitchen/diner, plus separate closed storage for suitcases, etc. No TV - but WiFi, an iPod/iPhone player/radio, a couple of nice beach bike/cruisers (availability based on shared use with me & my guests, but if you need a bike full-time there are plenty of rental places nearby), & a bit beat-up but functional 9ft surfboard, & a boogie board! Perfect size for 2 people, or for a couple with 1 child or @ a pinch, 2 small children (on request, I can provide a full size foam mattress & bedding - this in addition to the existent full-size bed; but 'fair warning' - the additional bed does slightly obstruct the room, so will need to be propped up against the wall during the day or folded up with the sheets & put back in the closet till used/unpacked again at night); 3 friends sharing is ok, however, the reality of the spare/guest mattress does need to be discussed between them ahead of time & decided (obviously!), as the spare on-the-floor-mattress is less comfortable than the bed.
Washer & Dryer (shared use, in the main house/garage - so by mutual arrangement/appointment) after & every 7 days' stay.

We had a fantastic time at Eve's place. The vacation apartment is spacious and beautifully furnished. Everything was clean and the kitchen was very well equipped. Eve was always well-informed about things to do on Kauai and a great source of information concerning places to go and things to do. She welcomed us to the apartment with coffee and fresh fruit, which we greatly appreciated. The location is good and exactly as described. It was nice of Eve to provide us with two bikes. The town is just a short bike ride away, but a car is still recommended. Internet on Kauai is sometimes dodgy, but at Eve's it worked most of the time. It was a true pleasure meeting Eve and staying at her place, which we highly recommend.
The reservation was canceled 9 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
We loved Eve’s house! It is located very convenient in the middle of the East coast and it’s equally close to the South and North beaches. During our 12-day stay we were able to see many beaches on the island. We also visited Pacific Grand Canyon on the West side and National Tropical Botanical Garden on the South.
We also found many books about Kauai in the apartment. One book (“The Ultimate Kauai Guidebook: Kauai Revealed” by Andrew Doughty) was very helpful and we used maps from that book while driving and looking for new beaches.
Eve is a wonderful hostess, very attentive and kind. At the middle of our vacation my friend got into an (email hidden) Pali coast trail and broke her ankle. Eve did everything to make my friend feel more comfortable in her house. She even bought an additional bed frame to make the bed higher so my friend could get out of it easily. The day after the accident Eve drove us to the doctor to get a consultation and then to the airport to arrange our flight back to Honolulu.
Eve is a very informal and supportive person.
She shared information about interesting musical events and places that are worth to see with us. Thanks to her we could attend the nice concert of Hawaiian music.
Despite of my friend’s injury we both were happy to stay in Eve’s house and to experience her hospitality and kindness.
Maria and Natalia.
Kaua'i far exceeded any expectations we could have had. What a spectacular island; easy to navigate and explore, and plenty of things to do and see. Eve was a wonderful host, giving us some great tips on sights, events, restaurants, live music. I think we managed to take in about 90% of what she informed us about. The apartment is clean and comfortable and location was perfect to explore north and south of the island as well as so easy to get around Kapa'a itself - where there is a lot to do! The town festival on the first Saturday of the month was a great highlight. Access to the beach cruisers was really nice and the boogie board & surf board were both great to take down to Kealia and play in the water. Very good location, great host, wonderful island. So glad we made the trip! Thanks Eve for helping make it such a highlight for us. :)
Eve was a wonderful host and gave us the inside scoop to the whole island. We felt her location was the best place on the island. You are close to everything and an amazing beach and bike trail. We used the kitchen almost every night and everything was well thought out and stocked. We would recommend this to anyone looking to stay in Kauai.
This was our first AirB&B vacation, and it was overwhelmingly positive.
Kapa'a on the island of Kauai is a beautiful little town where real people, tourists and wild roosters/chickens live in harmony. Staying at Eve's Moana Makani apartment was exactly what we were looking for.
The Bathroom was big and clean, the kitchen was well equipped and functional, the bed was surprisingly comfortable (the memory foam mattress scared me at first, but we had no trouble sleeping on it).
Eve was an amazing hostess, providing us with valuable advice on what to do on Kauai, good spots on where to eat/get our groceries, she also took notice of Marie's coughing and she gave us Coconut water and lemongrass to help it go away.
We are very happy with our choice to stay at Eve's place, and are happy to recommend it to anyone interested who feels the place would suit their traveler profile (away from big hotels/resorts, living like a real hawaii resident for a few days).
Thank you Eve!
Eve is a great hostess, very accommodating and full of good tips for food and activities. The suite is nice and very clean, and the little patio/garden are wonderful, very private and peaceful. The bed is what you'd expect from a futon (email hidden)equate but not luxurious :)
Overall, we had a great vacation, thanks Eve!
The pictures of this apartment do not do it justice! We were even more impressed in person. It is clean, cozy, and very functional. The apartment is in a great location to explore the entire island. Eve is a pleasant, friendly, and attentive host. We would love to stay here again on any future visits to the beautiful island of Kauai.
Our stay in Kapaa was perfect: if not for the gorgeous weather and experience of the island, then definitely for the warm hospitality of our host.
Upon arrival, Eve welcomed us with great conversation and a basket filled with fresh fruits and veggies. The apartment, while attached to the main house felt very private, clean and comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed and then some. It was relaxing to come home every night from our days' explorations, and we felt we were in the greatest care of our host. She provided helpful tips and suggestions, and conversation with Eve was always fun and informative. She provides a private lanai, bikes, surfboard, and boogie board. The parking space is sort of tight but if you have a smaller car it's totally doable. Definitely loved Eve's place and would recommend it to anyone.
