What a gorgeous, cozy, alpine-style home, with lots of nifty details! Perfectly clean and tidy, in a stunning setting, with beautiful views all around. My friends and husband and I were all delighted to come "home" to this place every night. We were at events in Jackson from early 'til late each day, but we would have loved to spend more time just relaxing in this super-charming "cabin" in the woods. The hostess made sure every detail was taken care of. 5 stars.
Rob and Pam's cabin was awesome! We were able to bring our kids and grandkids (nine of us total), and there was plenty of room. The cabin appears rustic on the outside, but has beautiful attention to detail on the inside. The pictures don't lie. We only met Pam briefly, but she seemed delightful and very friendly. The drive up to Jackson was beautiful and scenic, and did not feel bad at all.
We will definitely recommend this cabin to any friends considering this trip.
Amazing. Pam and Rob's place was about a 45 minute scenic drive south of Jackson. The cabin is perched on the side of a hill (mtn?) overlooking the Snake River valley. It was clean, extremely comfortable and perfectly appointed with Western wilderness art and the requisite antler chandelier. Pam was clear that if we needed anything, she was only a phone call away. If we hadn't packed each day with trips to the national parks, Teton Village, the Jackson Hole Rodeo and short hikes in the surrounding natural areas (check out Granite Hot Springs and the falls just below it), simply hanging out the deck for a week would have been a perfectly acceptable alternative. I hope we're able to return in the winter to see the valley under snow.
Alpine House was perfect for our family reunion of four siblings and spouses. We loved returning to the house every day after our hikes, bike rides and canoe trips in the Tetons. Since we all like to cook, the well laid out kitchen and dining area more than met our needs and we spent many happy hours on the spacious deck. Pam was a gracious hostess and kept us well informed. We would definitely return and have already recommended Alpine House to friends.
As some of the other reviewers have already said Cabin is just not an adequate description for this beautiful home. Spacious, beautifully designed, well equipped, and wonderfully warm despite the cold weather outside. It is beautifully located over looking the valley. I will say I was not expecting it to be so close to Alpine township but that was in no way a negative for us.
We used it to explore Jackson and Grand Teton and the drive between the cabin and Jackson was an easy one to make daily.
While we were just two, The house would be perfect for a couple of families to share, with two bedrooms and a bathroom at either end and a huge lounge/ TV area as well as a very generous dining table. The kitchen is well equipped and spacious.
I would thoroughly recommend this house to anyone looking to stay in this area.
Though called a 'cabin' with its rustic exterior amidst the woods and scenic overlook -- this gracious home lacks nothing for a comfortable exploration of some of the most beautiful country in God's creation. Our two families (of four each), shared a perfect week of river rafting, hiking in both State and National forests, day-long trail rides up to 8,000 ft. vistas, and LOTS of wildlife everywhere. We were close enough (40 minutes) to go to Jackson for the rodeo and to hike the Tetons -- but to our surprise, we also found ourselves choosing to do many outdoor activities right around Alpine. Most evenings we returned 'home' to cook a meal in the wonderfully equipped kitchen and enjoy a fire and view out on the back deck overlooking the valley. Thank you, Pam and Rob, for making this treasure available!
