About this listing
Large Double Poppy Room
You have your choice of pretty bedrooms, one with a double bed or a room with two singles. Large bathroom has bath and shower; it is only shared if both bedrooms occupied. You cannot imagine the charm of my little home-- people have loved the arm chair that's more than 100 years old.
Six minutes by taxi from Luton Airport. Middle of the night arrivals or departures accepted. Train station to London's St. Pancras International Station is 20 minutes walk, 5 minutes by taxi. The train takes 30 minutes,
Wifi, of course.
It helps that |I have a diploma as a Cordon Bleu cook. Help yourself to a cup of tea any time; otherwise no cooking.
The enormous garden is quite an attraction in summer. Guests have picked their own berries for breakfast. In winter, enjoy the wood-burning stove that keeps the place warm and cosy. The cat Cleopatra loves it.
Washing machine, iron, sewing kit available.
I have a car and experience in showing people around by special agreement.
Guests will have access to my beautiful garden, patio and summerhouse. They can prepare a light breakfast in the sunny kitchen.
Interaction with Guests
I love meeting new people and sometimes have students stay with me to study English.
I live in a very convenient area for travelling to London, Luton Airport, the M1 motorway. It's a 15 minute walk to Luton Parkway station, 30 minutes to London by train. We are 5 minutes by car to Luton Airport and I am happy to give you a lift there! Locally we have the beautiful Luton Hoo exclusive hotel, Whipsnade Zoo. Day trips can be arranged to Cambridge, Woburn Abbey and other places of interest.
You can get the train to London with connections to anywhere in the country and even France.
We would like our guests to respect our home as we do
Clean and tidy room, very nice breakfast and great hostess.
Highly recommended if have to stay in this area.
Anne was lovely and her home was perfect. Luton airport was about 15mins by taxi- perfect for what we needed.
Lovely welcome and cup of tea from Anne.
Pretty home ideally located for access to the airport. Thank you for an enjoyable stay and nice breakfast!
Easily the worst AirBnB experience I've had to date, which is disappointing given the other feedback on this property.
a) Upon arrival I received a rather frosty welcome from Anne, claiming that I owed her more money since my booking was only for one person, rather than two. Whilst I surprised by this I checked my AirBnB app which clearly stated that I had paid the correct amount. Since we had an early flight I retrospectively shared email confirmations with her on this point but received frosty responses.
b) The property is directly in the Luton Airport flight path - if you are a light sleeper be prepared that constant planes overhead will impact ability to sleep. There is an external plant growing into the bedroom from outside and the window cannot be shut properly.
c) Significant mould on the internal bedroom window needs attention.
On the plus side she did recommend a good Indian restaurant.
Anne made me very welcome, the room was clean and tidy with plenty of space and there was toiletries available which was a bonus. Having wifi as well was really useful in order to catch-up on emails.
Anne was very easy to work with. Although I arrived very late, it was no problem. The room itself is neat, the bed is good, and I just think I'll use it some other time when I'm on an early flight from Luton :-).
