I only take a minimum 2 night bookings on weekends (Friday and Saturday) and 3 night bookings on long weekends, or if I have one open night. This applies mostly to the summer season.
One night bookings during the week are fine, if I can accommodate you.

This is a newly renovated self contained cabin with original hard wood floor, high ceiling and lots of natural light. It has a small bathroom with shower and toilet, refinished antique pocket door, small closet, and a funky up-cycled church windows.

There is also a small T.V. with a large selection of vintage VHS movies for your viewing pleasure.

I have two kayaks and two SUP (stand up paddle boards) you can rent for $30 each per day. I supply safety kit, life jackets, paddles and a map.
You can pay by visa or cash after your arrival, sometimes it's weather permitting! There is also a quick waiver that must be signed.

The kitchenette has sink, plates, cups, mugs, bowls, utensils, wine glasses, bottle opener, can opener, knives, cutting board, toaster, kettle, microwave, and bar fridge and Napoleon BBQ. I also supply a French press, coffee, tea, sugar, ketchup, mustard and relish, olive oil and salt and pepper.
**There is no stove inside the cabin. If you bring a gas stove, you must use it outside. There is no cooking inside the cabin. I do not supply pots and pans***.
You must do your dishes, eco friendly dish soap and wash towels provided.

I use only biodegradable/unscented/eco-friendly cleaners and cleansers in the cabin (I do use a bit of windex). Your sheets are line dried and will not smell of harsh chemical/skin irritating scents. Everything is washed with eco friendly laundry soap as well.

The water is pure spring water from a 200 foot well, drilled into solid granite. Please respect the water and use only what you need.

Outside is your own private deck, surrounded by Canadian granite, honeysuckle bushes, and towering white pines. Complete with patio furniture, hammock, and outdoor fire place, wood provided. You can park directly outside the cabin.

Vist the Gravenhurst farmers market on Wednesdays, or go for a easy wilderness hike at Torrence Barrens, the stargazing capital of Ontario. I will be happy to give you any suggestions.

Sorry, no WIFI, but you won't miss it in the ultra relaxing space. Unplug!

Leslie's place was a great place to relax and unwind. We loved that it was in a quiet area and was just steps from the beach. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay.

Great little cabin no more than a min walk to the public beach with a great scenic view. My girlfriend and I rented some kayaks from Leslie and paddled around the lake. We got lot of privacy and enjoyed a nice campfire and some BBQ. Highly a recommend stay!

Our stay at Wood Wind Cabin was exactly what we were hoping for. Leslie was a great host and the cabin and surroundings were exactly as described. Leslie was always available if we needed anything but also gave us our space to relax and enjoy our time. We were looking forward to a few days of relaxation and spending time outdoors and that is exactly what we got. The cabin is very well-maintained and was clean and ready for us when we arrived and we were steps away from the beach and public dock. Leslie was available to answer any questions that we had in preparation for our trip and was always very timely with her responses. Overall, our vacation was exactly what we were looking for and we hope to come back again next year. Thank-you Leslie!

This lovely cottage is exactly what we needed to relax and unplug. There are so many nice touches which make you feel at home, from the flowers on the table, to the interesting collection of books and drawing materials. We enjoyed many bbqs and walks by the lakes here.

The cabin is very clean, charming, and newly renovated. The cabin is in a residential area, essentially in the backyard of Leslie's home. We did think it would be located further away from the main home. There was a storm the night we were there and the power went out, but Leslie was very accommodating and came out with candles and even started the generator. Overall, it was nice to be out of the city, we were able to have a bonfire and sleep in the next morning.

Response from Leslie:
Unfortunately I feel this guest posted and inaccurate review. I would like to stress Woodwind Cabin is surrounded but mature trees (not a residential or suburban). I do wish he had of looked at my 36 posted photos of the space (giving every view from every window of the guests space) to get a sense of where the cabin is. I would like to let future guests know the cabin is very private. It's also stated in my description. 'The main house is next door, and I give my guests quiet and privacy. Woodwind cabin and all it's amenities, are strictly reserved for your use. 50 meteres away is a nice sandy community beach, marina, government docks for fishing and boat launch' It's very unfair to blame the host for an expectation that was clearly stated. As well as stating 'residential' neighbourhood is also inaccurate. They are all seasonal cottages (none in sight of Woodwind but my own). The term 'residential' may be used to describe a small fenced yard setting with manicured gardens and cut lawns. My cabin is surrounded by mature trees, bush and granite with a lovely outdoor fireplace and Napoleon BBQ. The main driveway also separates the two lots, so it's not actually a backyard (my yard is on the other side). New guests may think they will not have privacy or it will be a shared space. Being a new user to air bnb, I can understand guests may have missed some details. I urge Nathan in the future to read the description in detail, look at the photos, and as well as ask any perteinent questions (i.e. measurements or exact distances). This will help you book the perfect space, in the perfect location for future trips.

Leslie User ProfileLeslie is a superhost.

I am an artist from Muskoka. I love to travel to different shows to sell my work. I also enjoy my home life of relaxing and working on my house and in the studio. I like dogs, animals, and love nature in general. My favourite hobby now is my electric outboard wood boat. There is nothing like being out on the lake!

Originally, I started to rent Woodwind Cabin for fun, but soon realized how much people loved it. I am so happy my guests can connect with nature, relax, and enjoy my uncomplicated design. I did a complete restoration myself about 5 years ago, you could say it's a 'hand made' cabin!
