About This Listing
The apartment is situated in one of the most peculiar neighbourhoods of Lisbon, between Graça and São Vicente de Fora, it is 5 minutes away from Santa Apolónia Station and from Feira da Ladra, the oldest flea market in the city. Castle of São Jorge, Convent of São Vicente de Fora, Panteão and Miradouro da Graça are some of the tourist attractios that are nearby.
The neighbourhood is very quiet and well located. It´s easy to reach downtown and all the important areas of the city.
The apartment consists of two bedrooms, living room, integrated kitchen and WC. Very well equipped, wooden floor, windows with double glazing and fireplace are some of its features. Cable and wireless are also available.
It is located in a second floor of an old building and it was recently rebuilt with care and style. However the best of this place is apart of any architectural intervention: the natural light and the fantastic view of the Tagus River!
Smoking is not allowed.
Respect the neighbours: This is a residential building and times of silence must be respected. Don´t make noise on the stairs and don´t slam the doors, please
Parties are not allowed. Visitors are not accepted, only the payers guests.
Make sure you turn off all the lights and all the appliances whenever you leave.
One of our best AirBnB rentals. A pleasant out-of-the-tourist-area neighborhood, a very well-equipped kitchen, good-sized rooms and a view every bit as good as the pictures show.
Juli herself was very friendly and helpful, and directed us to a number of nearby places to eat, including the tiny Snack-Bar Paquito across the street, which was a gem. When we needed additional information and suggestions, she replied quickly be e-mail.
Being out of "dead center" was no problem for touring; the 735 bus stops just around the corner in both directions, and connects directly to Paco do Comercia and Cais do Sodre downtown, and also to Sta. Apolonia rail and metro station, which are at the bottom of the hill (sometimes you won't feel like walking up!)
No working air-conditioning, but between two fans and cross-ventilation it was not a problem, even in 90+ Fahrenheit.
Our experience was amazing. Julie is a really great host. Her house is excellent, very well located just a walking distance from beautiful and important places in Lisbon. You can get the metro at Santa Apolonia Station, which is at 5 minutes walking from Julie's flat.
The neighbourhood is quiet. You have a grocery just around the corner where you can buy all you need for everyday life.
I highly recommend this flat.
Juli is a great host : she's very nice and very easy to communicate with. The apartment is really great with everything you can ask : the area is typical and lovely (you can feel that you're definitely not in the tourist place ^^) and you can find just next to the door's building a little grocery shop with very charming owners (really nice people too) who have got everything you need for your stay, very practical ! You've got also a bus stop (n°735) near to the apartment which bring to the city center ; good to know after a long day of walk in the city !
A definitely good experiment : I hope that I could come back soon to see Juli, plus Lisbon is a really beautiful city in which you want to stay forever ! Thanks again Juli for everything !
The apartment is beautiful and the view from the big bedroom is amazing. Juli was a great host and a great person too. We had a nice chat with her when we met her. We have a 1 year old toddler and she made sure we got everything we needed to accommodate our child.
We had a lovely time in this apartment and we certainly recommend it.
Juliana was a quick responder from the very beginning and she even offered us a discount for the period we stayed in her apartment. She also gave us a number of amazing tips regarding cool places in Lisbon, making our stay in the city more interesting and definitely tastier. The apartment was very nice, clean, bright and with an amazing view of the river (just one of the rooms). It was very well equipped and includes all commodities, making it quite cozy. The area was a bit far from the centre if you consider walking, but next to the house there was a bus stop from where you can easily get to Praça do Comércio. We'll hopefully visit again Lisbon and stay at her place!
About the Host, Juli
I´m from south of Brazil and l´ve been in Portugal for several years.
I live in the countryside where I have a small farm to cultive organic food.
Until 2011 I lived in Lisbon, in this apartment that I rent now for tourists. My husband and I rebuilt the apartment for ourselves, so part of me is there. As a guest said once: "it looks like home!".Yes, it´s home and I´m pretty sure you´ll feel like that there!
Right next to my building. It´s a tiny place but you´ll find everything you are looking for. The owners are very attentive and friendly. You´ll feel like you are living in the neighborhood.Rua Fernão de Magalhães Lisbon Lisbon District 1170
Cool place to have a beer in the evening, a quick meal or go through the night dancing; it´s a bar, restaurant and nightclub. The best part: it is a terrace with a breathtaking view of the river.Rua de Santa Apolónia Lisboa 1100-468
A nice garden, with restaurants and shops around it. One of the best places to stop for a drink in the evening. It´s where you´ll see the oldest flea market, Feira da Ladra, on Tuesdays and Saturdays.Campo de Santa Clara Lisbon Lisbon District 2715-311
In this bakery you can pick your bread randomly. They all taste delicious! Keep in mind that the bread you´ll find in the grocery right next to my building is bought from this bakery every morning.
The best pizza ever. A wonderful outdoor space, facing the river! No reservations accepted, you have to go early! In the next door, there´s a deli/coffee shop DELI DELUX – don´t miss it!Avenida Infante Dom Henrique Cais da Pedra à Bica do Sapato Lisboa 1900-264
One of the best Indian restaurants in Lisbon. Extremely simple and very cheap. It is worthwhile! The shrimp biriany and goan shrimp are the best from the menu. The lamb dishes are very tasty!Travessa do Monte Lisbon
Excellent Portuguese food. Good price. Well served. It is always busy, so you have to go early or call for booking. On Fridays at lunch they serve the best roasted duck in town!Largo da Graça Lisbon Lisbon 1170
It looks more as parisiense than a portuguese coffeeshop. They serve good and original sandwiches. It is open from late morning until night.Rua de São Gens Lisbon 1170
Miradouro da Graça is a terrace with a panoramic view of the castle and Lisbon. The open-air cafe is a favorite with young locals, especially in late afternoon. Open until late in the summer.Largo da Graça Lisboa Lisboa 1100
