Spacious sun-filled guest bungalow set amongst olive and pomegranate trees.
Located 30 kms (18 miles) south of Essaouira in the westernmost foothills of the High Atlas range, this elegant (eco friendly, solar-powered) bungalow was recently described as "like staying at the Old Cataract Hotel in Aswan." Indeed its subtle colors and highly personal furnishings and decor do give one the impression of existing in some bygone era... one of peace and tranquility where the meadowlark sings on high and breezes blow through the pomegranate and olive trees just outside the bungalow salon's french doors. An ideal setting for one to reconnect with nature, with self and with all the simple forgotten pleasures of yesteryear: reading a good book, dozing or simply listening to birdsong while stretched out on a "chaise longue" or a hammock in the shade of an old olive tree. A place to relax, to meditate, to listen to music, to wander the land along ancient Berber footpaths winding through hills of argan trees. A place to savor the produce of the land... fresh vegetables in season, freshly-baked country bread, organic argan & olive oils, preserved olives, marinated figs and juice extracted from our pomegranate trees in season. A place to simply BE. The bungalow shares 7 private hectares of argan and olive trees with the owners' home and offers lovely views in all directions.
A simple single zen-like room with a view is also available at 35 euros a night including breakfast.

A Canadian citizen, I have a longtime connection with Morocco through numerous visits and extended stays between 1979 and 1999 at which time I decided to settle here permanently.
