Recommended for 6-8 people, but can take up to 13 adults + 1 child if you want to save $ and don’t mind being cozy.
NOTE: City of San Diego requires us to collect a 10.5% Transient Tax, 0.55% Tourism Marketing District tax, and 0.39% transaction cost on the first month of any vacation rental stay.
Airbnb rules require this to be collected separately from your booking payment and by us directly.
Upon your booking you will be sent a link to an online form for payment of this tax by credit card.
You will need to complete this form before entry instructions will be given. The card will be charged at the time of your stay.

SMOKING INSIDE A UNIT WILL CARRY AN AUTOMATIC $150 CHARGE
2.People other than those in the Guest party set forth above may not stay overnight in the property.
3.The owners are not responsible for any accidents, injuries or illness that occurs while on the premises or its facilities. The Homeowners are not responsible for the loss of personal belongings or valuables of the guest. By accepting this reservation, it is agreed that all guests are expressly assuming the risk of any harm arising from their use of the premises or others whom they invite to use the premise.
4.Keep the property and all furnishings in good order
5.PETS are permitted only with prior written approval and are subject a $25/night/pet fee and to the following terms:
a.Pets discovered to have been brought without prior approval and payment will be charged for at a rate of fifty dollars ($50.00) per night per pet for any nights the property is occupied by the Guest(s).
The discovery of pets brought any Guest(s) without prior approval is subject to immediate removal of the Guest(s) and pets from the Property and termination of the remainder of their stay without refund.
b.Guest must take due care to immediately pick up after their pets on property grounds or be charged for any cleaning cost and/or loss of revenue from other guests or tenants.
c.Guest(s) hereby declare that the pets are known to be non-aggressive to other animals and people and are neutered or spayed.
d.Guest(s) accept full liability FOR ANY HARM DONE by Guests’ pets to any other animals or people and any property damage.
6.Fees: These fees are designed to encourage you to follow the rules, NOT to give us a reason to charge them.
We do not make or want to make money on these. At best they reimburse us for losses.
We do not like charging them. PLEASE DO NOT GIVE US A REASON TO.
a.Failure to turn off lights and/or fans upon checkout$10
b.Failure to turn of the heating, stove, oven, or closing the refrigerator upon checkout $30
c.Failure to spin the combination on a key lock box and/or closing the combination door will require the resetting of the combination and re-informing all the upcoming guests and will carry a $15 fee.
d.Any other costs incurred due to Guests intent or negligence will be reimbursed at actual cost
e.Any time required to be invested by the management as a result to Guests intent, negligence, or error will be charged at fifty dollars ($50) per hour, including travel time.

Alik was prompt to respond. I am not entirely familiar with San Diego so while I had a vague idea of the location of this rental, I was not completely familiar with the neighborhood. It is an older neighborhood in transition. However, the location is great for getting around. Your just over a mile from the Gas Lamp and getting to the Coronado bridge is a breeze. You're also very accessible to Balboa Park and the neighborhoods around it.
The rental is an older unit so don't come expecting a lot of amenities. There is no AC but the units do come with a fan. This would be sufficient if more of the rooms had ceiling fans.
Given that it's a rental, it would be nice if the grounds were a little more kept. There were cigarette butts all over the court yard, the outdoor furniture is pretty rundown and there was stuff left in the fire pit.
For a place that you're simply going to use as a launching point, it's got all that you need.
We stayed at two adjacent apartments, which was perfect for our party of 9. Everything was very clean and spacious, and great location not too far from Gaslamp district. I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the San Diego area.
We hired several of Alik's apartments. Everything was very professional. We never met Alik, but the setup allows very easy access 24/7. Communication by airbnb mail was always quick and easy. Alik was also very flexible about check-out times etc.
The apartments are cheap and in a nice (mostly working class, largely hispanic) neighborhood. The location is great and walkable to downtown, or cheap in a taxi.
I did not find it easy to tell how many people this apartment would accommodate. Actually, it will hold a lot of people, depending on the comfort level required. The listing is two apartments that are adjacent, with a common yard space, but not joined together through a shared door. One apt has two queen bedroom, a comfortable queen fold-out couch in the large living room, a good quality queen air mattress, and a further part of the fold-out couch that can sleep one.
The other apt has one queen bedroom, a regular couch, and a queen air mattress.
So you can squeeze in a lot of people of you need two, although there are three queen bedrooms.
House just as described but keep in mind it does get cozy with a larger group! There is even a video monitor when any guests buzz at the door which I thought was nice! Alik is great with quickly replying and accommodating our group and made sure to memo the cleaners to leave extra towels and linens for us. Directions were clear and all went well. Thanks!
