Other things to note
Australia’s Kangaroo Island named No 2 must-visit region for 2024 by Lonely Planet.

Kangaroo Island sits off the coast of South Australia and is Australia's third-largest Island. At 155 kilometers long and up to fifty-five kilometers wide, it covers an area of 4,416 square kilometers, and is separated from the mainland by a fifteen kilometer stretch of ocean. Think of an area six times the size of Singapore.

There’s an unmistakable sanctity about KI. With its raw and rugged coastline, impeccably clear waters, natural wonders and wildlife, Kangaroo Island is known as nature’s playground. As you step off onto the island, it's impossible not to relax. Follow the road less traveled and discover unique wildlife, mouth-watering food and wine, breathtaking scenery and a laid-back lifestyle.

There are four main towns on Kangaroo Island:
Kingscote: Kingscote is biggest town on the island, about an hours drive from Penneshaw. The only airport on Kangaroo Island is also at Kingscote.
Penneshaw: Penneshaw is at the east of the island, where the ferries arrive.
Parndana: Parndana in the centre of the island and serving the farming community.
American River: American River is a small community that is actually on a bay not a river, between Kingscote & Penneshaw

This apartment is located in Kingscote, close to all conveniences including supermarket, petrol station, chemist, hardware and food. It is roughly a 5 min drive to any of the conveniences mentioned!
And you are only 1.9kms from the beach...!

Ideally if you haven’t signed up to do a tour of some sort.... you’re gonna need your own transport.
There is no public transport on KI... in order to get around and see as much as you can... you will require transport..... the island is bigger than expected.
You can bring a vehicle over on the ferry. Alternatively you can rent a vehicle when you get off the ferry.
Sealink offer a bus from Adelaide to the ferry at Cape Jervis.
And Qantas offer quick flights from Adelaide Airport.

My work: General Manager- O'Shea's Organisation Pty Ltd
Most useless skill: I can't say No! and cant wake up early!
and my family and I are pleased to welcome you to our Holiday apartments, "Investigator Beach Breeze Apartments" in Kingscote on Kangaroo Island. Here’s a bit info about us and about our properties on KI We’re a family of 5- Sean is Dad, Kirsty is Mum and the kids are Finnigan, Aobh and Rafferty (yes, Sean is Irish, hence the Irish names!). We live in the Western Suburbs of Adelaide and we own a cleaning company, O’Shea’s Organisation. Sean has been a fan and frequent visitor to Kangaroo Island for many, many years. After immigrating from Ireland, Sean discovered KI through some friends and instantly fell in love with the way it captured the incredible beauty that remotes part of Australia offer. It was only a matter of time before we decided to buy own little parts of KI, investing is a small block of 3 apartments in Kingscote, the main town and 250 acres of paddock and scrub at Gosse, located at the western end of the island close to Western River and Flinders Chase. We have freshly renovated the apartments and tried to make it like home away from home! We have also some added a few special touches..... an outdoor fire pit, outdoor spa, an outdoor spa, a few nice to haves in the kitchen such as an air fryer, toastie and blender, you'll find bits and pieces including a hair dryer in the bathroom, extra blankets, a fully functioning laundry, lush garden, fresh, modern decor, games for the whole family and more..... And please take super good care of the little havens we have worked so hard to create. Please put your rubbish in the bin, take care of our bits and pieces and please don’t smoke inside! We know you wouldn’t but please be sure not to take any of our belongings…. The kitchen gear, towels, linen, TV’s and remotes, games etc are all provided for all our convenience and future guests thank you for taking super good care of them……. And so do we! One of our favourite memories was our trip to Kelly Hill Caves- it’s a must do! The kids love swimming in the Tidal Pool in Kingscote and I’m telling you………. You must try the Rabbit Warren Bakery! The best coffee is at the Cactus and the honey ice-cream at the Beehive will rock your socks! If you’re into art…….. check out Sheps Gallery- fabulous! We also have a camp ground (1 powered site and 10 unpowered sites, pet friendly and includes drop dunny and rain water) at the western end of the island, so if you are looking for a camping experience, please feel free to email, phone or message if you are interested in camping at Gosse (close to Western River and Flinders Chase) We have enjoyed making memories on KI and we hope you do to! Have fun……… we’ll be thinking of you….. Love, The O'Shea's x
