The Space

Coming for the Gem Show, or a snowbird escaping the cold? Fully furnished affordable yet lovely room with separate entrance. Desk, linen, full kitchen, inside and outside dining areas, shared bathroom and wifi access. Located in central Tucson (for women only).

The University of Arizona is just 15 minutes away with easy access to buses. Around the corner is a delightful WIFI Cafe, a Mexican Bistro, a Polish restaurant, Italian restaurant, American breakfast cafe, Bakery, Pizza (email hidden), and of course a convenience store. Sabino Canyon is 20 minutes away.

There is an outdoor kitchen as well, complete with a barbeque! Sometimes we like to do breakfast, although that's not every day. But coffee is always available! Please smoke outside if you're a smoker. There are two very friendly indoor cats (Lulu and Lucy).

I'm an artist, quiet, vegetarian (although you don't need to be), and enjoy meeting interesting people. Tucson is a great place in the winter, and beautiful at any time of the year!

I have a big yard on a quiet street - but, this is central Tucson. There are neighbors dogs, firetrucks that go by on Broadway, and sometimes the sounds of children playing. It's not pristine silence, unfortunately. I want people to feel friendly and comfortable.......if you're not happy, I'll gladly refund your fee so you can find something else.

  • Lauren was the perfect host! Her place is exactly like what you would expect from the pictures. It is lovely, clean and convenient - there is a bus stop and plenty of places to ear around (try the Mongolian Barbeque!). Lauren is an artist and her house is her art project, so it keeps changing all the time and sometimes you wake up to see a new little detail that hasn't been there before - it never gets boring! Her cats are incredibly lovely too, I have never met such nice cats before. And the patio - such a lovely place for your morning coffee and it looks like a fairy garden at night with all the lights. So beautiful! I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it, especially if you are into art! Thank you for the wonderful time Lauren! :)

I'm a professional artist specializing in masks and community arts. I'm 63, love conversation and creativity. I'm a vegetarian, concerned with the environment, and have traveled internationally. I had so many good experiences with B&B's in the British Isles and Europe, where it is very traditional for families to open their homes, that I decided to try it myself. I had the same good experiences when I travelled in Indonesia, and stayed at "home stays". Because there's a great wifi cafe around the corner, I no longer cook breakfast, but I do enjoy creating a bright, colorful, serene space for the women who come to visit, and am always happy to share what I know about Tucson and the Southwest. I love Arizona, especially its warm, sunny winters. Renovating the 1962 Airstream trailor in the back yard, and creating a patio for it, has been my latest "art project"..........I love making things old new and inviting.
