Enjoy a sunset & river view from a renovated 1-bedroom loft condo in a historic building on Front Street in the heart of downtown Memphis. Ideal for those moving to Memphis and in need of temporary housing, for those visiting Memphis on a medium-term work assignment, or law students at the neighboring University of Memphis School of Law.

The space
Located in the heart of downtown on Front Street overlooking the river, this spacious (1170 ft2) historic loft condo is situated within easy walking distance to all the Memphis hot spots: Beale Street and the historic Orpheum Theatre are a short (and very safe) 3-block walk along the Main Street Mall, which is lined with restaurants, shops, and bars; the Mississippi River only 1 block away; Tom Lee Park just 3 blocks; Fedex Forum as well as many museums are nearby; and the Peabody Hotel and Autozone Park are 2-3 blocks away. Plus, a convenient corner grocery store is just down the block.

The condo's building is part of historic "Cotton Row," which makes up Front Street's original buildings from the late 1800s where the cotton merchants were based and where they graded cotton--hence the 10x15 foot skylight located in the upstairs loft bedroom, the original hard-wood floors from 1900, and the antique fireplace.

From the living room, you'll enjoy views of the sun setting over the river as well as the famous Mississippi River bridge. The living room also boasts a 40" HDTV with AppleTV plus an awesome-sounding bluetooth speaker system.

With the loft bedroom's skylight, wake up to clouds passing by and birds flying overhead, and on clear nights, gander at the stars. The loft bedroom's platform queen bed and super-comfortable, pillow-top mattress will provide you with a sweet night's rest.

The condo also offers a separate office/dressing room/spare bedroom. This room includes a desk and plush office chair along with a large closet and chest of drawers as well as a pullout twin sofa bed. This room also has views of the bridge and river with large windows.

Things to note:
(1) The condo is now a 3rd-floor walk-up as the 100 year-old elevator has died and there are no plans to replace it at this time. On the plus side, this will keep you in shape from all the yummy-yet-heavy food you'll be eating in Memphis;)
(2) I have several beautiful plants in the condo that give the place warmth but would also need to be taken care of. This usually consists of watering them just once a week. So guests with a green thumb are preferred:)

My loft condo offers a cool, stylishly-furnished space in a historic building facing the river where guests can comfortably rest their heads at night. Not to mention, it's conveniently located to all of downtown's amenities. The condo is ideal for a single guest or a couple.

The condo is centrally located in downtown on Front Street. To get to most places nearby, you'll be walking along the pedestrian-only Main Street Mall, which is the prettiest (and safest) stretch of downtown and lined with restaurants, shops and bars. Famous Beale Street and the historic Orpheum Theatre are a short (and very safe) 3-block walk away; the Mississippi River only 1 block; Tom Lee Park just 3 blocks; Fedex Forum as well as many museums are nearby; and the Peabody Hotel and Autozone Park are 2-3 blocks away.

Tom Lee Park, The Big River Crossing and Green Belt Park offer great places to jog and bike along the river.

Lastly, a super convenient corner grocery store & deli called City Market is just down the block at the corner of Union and Main. The nearest fine wine & liquor store is Quench, located 3 blocks away at 99 South Second Street. The nearest ATM is Regions at Main Street and Union Avenue and Bank of America at the corner of Main and Peabody Place.

I’ve made it my mission to be a great host to those of you visiting Memphis and staying at My Memphis Mojo. I get a warm and fuzzy feeling when my guests appreciate the place's eclectic, historical and homey vibe.

I also get a kick out of greeting my guests personally upon check-in, when I'm available, and recommending my favorite local spots in town. All this seems to make their stay a bit more special.

I've met some really great folks—and friends—through hosting; and I certainly look forward to meeting more.

With all this positive energy, I’ve since managed to get my filmmaker chops going. My short dance film Bookin’ mixes a Memphis street dance called Jookin’ with ballet to a soundtrack that mixes hip-hop beats and cello…all at a famous juke joint in downtown Memphis. It was a hit on the festival circuit in the U.S., Europe and Latin America as it spread the good vibes of cultural fusion, which Memphis is historically known for.

I'm now working on a follow-up feature film about a sweet southern fairy tale love, complete with brothel ghosts, funky Memphis music, and tragedy, oh my.

It's also been my mission in Memphis to help make it a more fertile environment for my fellow emerging artists. I have a special love for this city. And I now have a love for hosting guests at My Memphis Mojo!
