Layout, natural light, and relatively large rooms contribute to a soothing and pleasant living space. Additional deck, front porch with chairs, and hot tub extend that to the outside. You will have the full house, including deck and hot tub. Note it is 2 bedroom, 1 bath house, with the bathroom on the first floor and bedrooms on the second. An extra guest could sleep on the living room floor or couches in a pinch, no extra charges.
Interaction with Guests
We or designee will be available for emergencies, and be around to get you settled and for orientation as desired. Otherwise it is yours to enjoy. We are experienced landlords with houses and office spaceWe are also happy to answer questions about the area either before arrival, during the key swap, or during your stay.
Close to everything, the Preston area is almost like a small village, and the downtown is only 15 minute walk. I walk to work at the (website hidden) medical center, door to desk in 17minutes. In addition to downtown Cville, the immediate 3 block area has Bodos, Sticks Kabobs, IY Foods, Shenandoah Joe's, McGrady's Pub, Breadworks, Mona Lisa Pasta, Ace barbeque, and several new restaurants under construction, all within 5 minutes walk. The neighborhood feels safe , and Rose Hill is a wide, well lit, well traveled area. Many retired people in the area.
On the city bus line. Walk downtown mall.
Other Things to Note
We are new to renting this house, but rent out office space and a rental house, so are used to being responsive to needs. There are two sofas in the living room and ample floor space if you need to fit someone else in, same rate, also same rate at all times.
Only one, but important! Please park in front of our house, or to the right of the telephone pole as you face the house, not in front of neighbors to the left.
Scott made us feel at home right away with snacks from the bakery down the street, a French press and coffee, a bottle of wine, and extra essentials for our stay.
He and his wife were also extremely helpful and welcoming by offering us flexibility in arrival & departure.
We hope to be their guests again soon when returning to Charlottesville!
We had a wonderful stay at Scott's beautiful home in Charlottesville for a long weekend. You can tell that a lot of love went into rehabbing this home. The artsy details throughout left us inspired to be creative in our own home.
Scott was a wonderful host and the house has all the amenities one would want - we really felt like we were at home away from home. If we are ever back in Cville I wouldn't think twice about booking this house again.
Great stay in Charlottesville this weekend! The house was beautiful and extremely comfortable. Would definitely stay again if I ever find myself back in Charlottesville.
Great house within walking distance of downtown. Really goes the extra mile to make guests welcome. Looks like a new bakery is going in a couple of blocks down...will make the this location even better.
Great house, great location. Scott was a great host, couldn't recommend more highly!
What a lovely home and accommodating host/hostess! This was he first experience with Airbnb and everyone on our group was very pleased. Scott made himself available for additional questions or concerns during our stay and provided great resources for any additional Charlottesville entertainment. Will certainly be back if in the area again.
Our stay was great for two reasons: 1) SUPER hosts and 2) a great home. Scott was very informative and accommodating (very smooth check-in process with an informative instruction booklet on the house), not to mention super kind and generous (we were welcome to use basic kitchen amenities like olive oil and salt, but he even graciously invited us to enjoy a night in with a bottle of wine and some dry pasta and pasta sauce in their pantry). The house is clean and beautifully laid out. And we were definitely able to get a good night's rest. Our only disclaimer to new airbnb patrons is to watch out as this host may spoil you for future airbnb experiences. Thank you Wiley's!
We are a nurse, and psychologist in Charlottesville. We own several types of rental properties, so are used to meeting the needs of guests. Having lived here since 1974, I can probably provide (or research) questions about the area. Our current listing is a 1900s house that we extensively renovated, doing all the work ourselves over the last 4 years ( and yes we are still happily married). Cleaning up now for guests on a Friday seems like a picnic compared to pulling off old plaster walls!
