The Space

With this large bedroom, you get access to a large backyard, kitchen, and wifi. The room has lots of sunlight with windows, a big closet, and a large working desk. The backyard has a basketball hoop, darts, and volleyball net (when the weather is nice). The main living area has a flatscreen, which is hooked up to watch netflix, hulu, or listen to pandora.

The rail station is just a few blocks away. Downtown is 20min ride and Bishops Art District 4.5 miles.

  • Positives: We only saw Krysta for a few minutes, but during that time she was very friendly. Communication with her leading up to our stay was prompt and professional. We spoke more at length with her roommate, who was incredibly warm and gave some great tips on where to eat in the Bishop Arts District. The house was quiet at night, wifi worked and the AC was cold.

Things we wish we had known in advance: (1) Everyone has a different definition of clean. This room and house were broom-clean, but not mop-clean. (2) During our stay, Krysta's brother popped over a few times to take a shower and a few other folks came by. Everyone was super nice, but be aware there is only one bathroom in the house. (3) While we were there, the bathroom sink was broken, so we ended up having to brush our teeth and wash up in the kitchen sink (where some dishes had built up.) (4)The overhead light in the bedroom is broken, so right now there is only one lamp to light the room. This made it difficult when we had to do some late-night work on our computer. ( TV in the bedroom.) None of these in isolation is a huge deal, but combined they add up.

So, would we stay there again, assuming everything was the same? Yes, but not for the price we paid ($55.) To us, it was steep for the accommodations on offer.

  • Krysta was very friendly! She gave some tips for things to do in the area and the neighborhood was very quiet and peaceful! Great spot for weekend lodging!

  • Krysta was very nice. I booked the room last minute the same day and she made it work. The house is a little drive from down town but not too far from Bishop Arts District, which is a nice little area. If your looking to be in the heart of Dallas this ain't it but it's a nice clean house in a safe neighborhood and Krysta was very nice.

  • Hello,
    Everything went well.
The room was big enough with a double bed.
The neighborhood was quiet with a lot of houses and families living around us.
It is located 15 minutes from City Center :) very nice

  • Everything was alright; didn't see Krysta though much; DART train is pretty close (7 min).

  • Quiet, cozy house close to Downtown Dallas. I didn't see the hosts that often, but they were super easy to contact. Very close to the Red Line Dart, which will get you connected to anywhere. It got very cold in Dallas when I was there, and coming from Phx, AZ I was glad to come back to a warm place.

  • I didn't get to see Krysta or Krysti very much, but that was my fault for having some strange exploring hours. Was a very clean house in a superb location (safe, family area. Minutes walk from the red line westmoreland station). The room was very nice and cozy.

  • The house is a charming older style home with floorboards and a large, brightly painted room with a comfy bed. The lounge/dining and kitchen area is low key and has all the basics you need to relax and unwind. If you are lucky, Krysta and Kristy will even make special turkey burgers for y'all!
They are great hosts that encourage you to share their home and they made an effort to share their knoweldge of Dallas and surrounds.
The location is suburban Dallas and it is a five-ten minute walk to the train station (however it is much easier to get around with a car in Dallas). There are plenty of supermarkets and great Mexican food nearby. If you are wanting to stay with some friendly hosts and you are on a budget I definetely recommend it.

  • Krysta was able to accommodate the beginning and end of my Texas vacation. I stayed with her for the weekend, drove to Austin and then came back for one night before I flew out. Please see my previous review. Would definitely recommend.

My name is Krysta, but two K's live in this home, so you will be entering the Ksquared household. Laid back and easy going. I'm big on music and the arts. I enjoy going out to listening to all the local and traveling musicians, and seeing local plays and comedy shows. I'm not big on tv, but enjoy movies or browsing netflix/hulu. I enjoy wine, beer, jogging, and cooking. I definitely don't mind cooking for the house when i'm not working. oh and by beer, i meant beer pong, which we occasionally play along with darts we have set up in the garage. We also have a bball hoop and volleyball net to throw up and play when the weather is nice!
