We are couple living in this big appartment very fuctional with 2 separate bathrooms and comfortable living room. Metro right under the apt makes very easy to arrive here from Termini central station (10mins). Rome main attraction are in 20/25 mins.
Comfortable room with a queen size bed
Huge living room with a possible extra queen size bed.
Toilet, bathroom, big balcony, kitchen.
Appartment is at 4th floor, full of light.
In the house free internet wi-fi, washing machine, furnished kitchen, dvd and vhs player in the room.
Metro A stop Colli Albani is right out of the door of the building. wich means to be to Piazza di Spagna in 15 mins, St. Peter in 20 mins. Fiumicino and Ciampino airport are well connected too. A night bus connects to Termini station all night long.
The neighbourood offers a taste of real Rome, and one of the most beautyfull park, Parco dell'Appia Antica, with the tomb of Cecilia Metella and catacombs. Good restaurants, and tasty pizza shops are all around open 'till late. There is also a McDonald's but please pick it as the last choice. A traditional markets offer good fruits and vegetables every day of the week and a supermarket is open until 9pm right in front the building. New nice bars and pubs are opening in area and night life is increasing.
Breakfast: is not included. But we use to leave milk in the fridge and you can help your self with coffee and whatever is in the kitchen.
Use of the kitchen: we love to cook and we know how relaxing and satisfying is to spend time preparing a good meal. But this is not always possible during ordinary life. So we are happy to share the kitchen but ask to use it consciously and leave it as you find it.
Wastes: we separate glass and plastic in two different baskets and then there is a trash for all the rest. Pay attention to that.
Toilet: don't throw in the wc any trash, use the waste basket.
The Gambardellas are wonderful hosts. They communicated information that made my arrival smooth despite public transportation issues. They welcomed me very warmly and made sure I felt at home for the duration of my visit. Both were very attentive to my needs by responding quickly to any questions I had, leaving plenty of space for my belongings both in the room and kitchen, and even printed my one-page museum ticket.
The place itself is super clean. I had privacy, own bathroom, and access to the kitchen. While the location is superb (right next to the metro stop), it may get noisy at night due to traffic which the Gambardella's anticipated and readily provided ear plugs. I didn't need to use the ear plugs myself as the noise didn't bother me.
I had a really pleasant stay with them. Plus, they seem to always have a warm, ready smile for you! They're great people. :)
We definitely recommend staying with Leonardo and Elena! Just as the listing describes, the apartment is in a great location just above a metro station and a cheap supermarket, with the beautiful Parco dell' Appia Antica just a few minutes walk away.
They supplied us with our own set of keys and we felt very comfortable to move around. The room feels very private and we had our own bathroom to use. They let us have our privacy but when we had questions they were very happy to answer and help, with Leonardo supplying us with good tips about Rome.
The apartment, and the room in particular, were very clean and pleasant to move around and the mattress is extremely comfortable. The room is located just above a busy street and when we got to the apartment they supplied us with ear plugs, but the noise didn't bother us and we never used them.
There is a small issue with the shower's hot water where it sometimes doesn't heat, but Leonardo and Elena showed us how to work around it and at worst it takes a few minutes then it's fine. Definitely not a big deal.
Thanks Leonardo and Elena, we had a great stay!
We had a lovely experience staying with the Gambardellas! Leonardo was very welcoming. He laid out how to get from the airport to the house in a step-by-step fashion, and once there, he explained to us where the market was (right across the street) and metro stop (literally less than a block away!), before informing us of a local festival going on. He also called and reserved a cab for us when we needed to return to the airport at the end of our stay. We used one of the fantastic maps he provided to navigate our way around the city and see every thing we had on the list. We found the room very noisy at night due to the traffic on the street below, as the apartment is off of a busy street. However, the Gambardellas were very thoughtful and left out some earplugs for us to use so we slept great. I would definitely recommend staying at this location to my friends.
Ottimo!!
Everything was great! Leonardo & Helena are very hospitable. The house is that right now like a pictures. The guest have own bathroom. The bed is big. Wi-Fi works without any problems. Metro is very close, about 1 minutes by feet. Product shop is the oposite site of the road, near is market & coffe shop. To Termini is 10 minutes by metro.
The place was clean and nice and the couple was really friendly and helpfull. We needed to print a museum ticket, and Leonardo helped us with that. With the subway just around the corner, the location was very good. The only thing we had some problems with, was the warm water in the shower.
The apartment is exactly as described and very close to the metro (email hidden)e convenience cannot be overstated; everything was within a 30 minute ride. There were some hiccups in the stay but everything was quickly sorted out.
The hosts were very sweet and prompt.Leonardo was also kind enough to do bookings for museums in Florence over the phone.
Overall a very comfortable, homely and convenient place to stay.
