The Space

When people step into my kitchen and turn to the left, they all gasp at the beautiful open and quiet space and view of my property and pond down below among the tall green nut trees. I have a sauna in an old sugar cane storage house by the pond and a cozy, private tranquil space to sleep or sit and look at the setting. The house is tastefully decorated, cheerful and very comfortable. You won't want to leave. There is a TV, Wifi, all the amenities needed. I will be across the street at my boyfriends house leaving you with alot of privacy. I have 2 cats.
The basement pictures will come soon. Its looking great and has a private entrance and bathroom, two twin beds, a living room area and sliding doors onto a small patio. There's a good amount of natural daylight that comes in through the sliding glass doors with a view of foliage and another window on the side.

Graduation weekend for Cornell and Ithaca College are available as are possibly other times during the year.

The house, surrounded on one side by nature is conveniently located on West Hill with an 8mn drive to The Commons and restaurants and about a 10-15mn drive to Cornell.

  • I thought the listing was gorgeous. I loved the pictures and the openness of the main living space really caught my eye. The second fabulous thing about the place is the back yard. We love to be outside and we spent most of the weekend, when we didn't have graduation obligations, in the yard playing bocce ball with the family. The "bright spacious, cozy home with a large pond" is exactly that! We had our extended family together for Cornell's graduation weekend and 10 people could fit around that wonderful table. (my nephew is a graduate student at Cornell so that family joined us for dinner) The house was cozy and comfortable. The cats were great. They are cuties but if you have allergies, they are longhair cats. One even cozied up to my father. My father couldn't stop raving about the place. He was concerned about staying in someone else's home, but the house itself and our host made him, and all of us, feel comfortable. One of my son's friends made this comment, "How did you find such a great place…..and it turn out to be a house that is sooo much YOU? " Thank you so much for opening your home and allowing an always stressful event to be relaxing and family centered. We had fantastic communication with our host one year prior and then in the weeks before our arrival. She was gracious with providing some breakfast goodies and was very understanding when we were having car problems on the day of our departure. I can't say enough wonderful things about our host. I hope she has a peaceful year and finds time to enjoy her own relaxing space and escape from the stresses of life. If ANYTHING takes us near Ithaca in the future I hope we can stay in your home again.

  • Manuela's house is beautiful -- an idyllic setting and lovely decor. She provided us with all the necessary amenities, and more. A very thoughtful homeowner. It was terrific to have such a nice place to assemble and relax in the midst of the graduation activities.

A citizen of the world, grew up in Zurich, Paris France, Rome, Bruxelles and NYC. I worked at Conde Nast Publications (Mademoiselle) for many years in NYC and moved to Ithaca NY to be with my boyfriend who has been at Cornell IT for 25 years. "Home " means a lot to me having travelled so much as a child but the bug is still there so i'm grateful that i can get to Paris every 4-6 months.
