The city of Melaka, founded around the year 1400, is considered to be the founding city of modern Malaysia. Being strategically located along major shipping routes, the city prospered during the reign of the Melaka Sultanate. It was later conquered by the Portuguese, Dutch and British. A melting pot of various cultures and traditions, its uniqueness was duly recognised when it was declared a UNESCO World Heritage City together with the city of Georgetown in Penang in 2008.

It was really a pleasant stay. Actually the best part of the trip in Malacca. The room is tidy, clean and spacious. Just like what you see in the picture. There is coffee and cookie available all day long.
Weiyi is a verrrry nice guy. He gave us some good recommendations about the restaurants and was really helpful on everything else during our whole stay. You all will like him if you come.
Great tasteful decoration, convenience, clean and safe. I would like to come back again.
Wei Yi and his family are very kind and nice host, the location of house is just near by the river and downtown which is great!! I will stay here if I go back to Malaka again!
Wayfarer Guesthouse is located on a perfect point of Melaka Heriyage town, where still have privacy atmosphere for living while easy to walk to everywhere in the heritage area. Its antique shophouse style building create an unique stay which is worth to pay. The room is clean with comfort bed and bedding especially its nice toilet en suite which hardly finding in the antique style accommodations. The best point of Wayfarer Guesthouse is having two entrances. One entrance for going to Melaka Heritage town and the another for walking by the Waterfront walkway which leading to the Kampung Morten. That's why I told that its location is really perfect. I was appreciated for Wei Yi Thor allowing me can do an early check-in and he pleased to print my flight boarding pass when I asked.
WeiYi was not around on the day we checked in . However , as we were arriving late , he informed us beforehand that he've instructed the caretaker that we'll arrive late .
upon arrival close to midnight , the caretaker was nice enough to still patiently show us to our room (:
room was true to picture . Loves the design of the shower area in the toilet .
common area was nicely done up and freeflow of coffees and teas are plus points (:
overall , a very comfy and homely stay . situated in the heart of Jonker's walk . A great place to stay in (:
Moreover , Weiyi made the booking process smooth with no hiccups .
definitely recommended (:
absolutely lovely place on the river, in the centre right near jonker street/walk.
the rooms are spotlessly clean with lovely beds and bedding. we were upgraded by wei yi on the first night to a beautiful large queen size room on the top floor ( river view) with balcony and double french doors out to it, amazing large room with tea/coffee facilities, even the bathroom has french shuttered doors to the balcony. our next two days were in the double room (room9) which was smaller but just as lovely with courtyard window, nice shower room en suite, would highly recommend this guesthouse. free tea and coffee and biscuits available all day and night and lovely helpful hosts lianne and paul, wei yi was on holiday while we were there but hope to meet him if we return to malakka. great stay
I enjoyed my stay at Wayfarer Guesthouse immensely for a number of reasons. Firstly, there is an old world charm about the place. The twin room was very much like in the description listing , so there were no nasty surprises ; the room was clean, cool and the beds comfortable. Secondly, the place is an excellent base to explore the historical part of town. And best of all, the hosts were not only informative and forthcoming about places of interest and eating places but also very hospitable and helpful. Wayfarer guesthouse is truly a home away from home. Next time, I will try and get a room with a river view!
