This home is in the perfect location if you're looking for something just off the beach and affordable. Its an easy 2 min stroll to the beach, another few miles down to the supermarket as well as a nice coffee shop and restaurants at the end of the street. I should add that this is the third time we've been back to Sally's rental and we've loved it each time.
This Emerald Isle rental exceeded our expectations. The home was nicely appointed. Down to the nautical theme on the bed linens. Everything about the listing was accurate. We were really surprised by the convenience of an outside shower. The walk to the beach was quick, simple and pleasurable. The views of the beach from the upper deck are gorgeous during the morning, noon, and evening. And sitting under the moon light late at night was refreshing too. We are already talking about going back there again next summer.
This place was amazing. The view of the ocean was spectacular. We sat on the rocking chairs every morning and drank coffee and enjoyed the view. And the inside was just as wonderful. The kids loved the bunk beds!
Sally was easy to work with and was gracious in accommodating us when some of our plans changed. The home was clean and had a great location, being a very short walk to an awesome beach.
The welcome packet and information binders were very helpful in giving us options.
Sally added some channels to the cable package so we had a great selection of movies when we weren't out and about enjoying the aquarium, playground, mini golf etc.
The playground was brand spanking new and is a short walk away (behind the police station) We enjoyed it very much!
We would be happy returning to this home for our next trip to the area.
Overall, this place worked well for our family! The great location near the beach and pier were so inviting to us and it was lovely to spend time on the elevated deck to look at the water and sunsets, go to the beach, or stay inside and do the same. I liked that it had newer carpet and was furnished with newer furniture. The space was open upstairs and the kitchen good-sized with enough utensils. Newer appliances, even though the cabinets were older and a little worn, made the kitchen inviting.
The bedrooms had beach-like, wicker furniture and newer linens - mostly a simple blue and white beach theme - with newer curtains and plastic louvered blinds on the windows. Closets were roomy and bathrooms were newer and basically clean. Our family liked the couches with the levers along the sides.
One unadvertised and uncomfortable matter were the low-flying fighter pilots who trained nearby - the "sound of freedom" is disruptive even if intermittent.
One suggestion for renters is to bring biodegradable supplies for the septic environment. The owner did not require this of us, but it is a smarter choice.
The area has many rentals of similar, if not a little lower, price - but this place is not out of line, given its relaxed, yet luxurious feel. The sleeping was very comfortable and our kids loved that each could have a top bunk. We were grateful for the outdoor shower and the washer/dryer to clean a few things that got dirty from play.
The owner was thankful that we rented from her and tried to accommodate and anticipate what we wanted. She had prepared two binders of local information and had plenty of brochures from the area to help with what to do and where to eat. She also was responsive to our calls and emails, and had supplied some toys for little ones, along with some books and DVDs.
If the owner takes our suggestions for upkeep, we feel that, without a doubt, others would have an unbeatable experience here for the price.
Sally was a great host and has a lovely home, well maintained and well equipped. It's a stones throw from the oceanfront and a few minutes from the pier. My family and I loved the house and we had a wonderful and relaxing beach vacation. If you like to fish, you can rent tackle and purchase a three day pass to fish off the pier (it's open all night). The water there is a pretty green and the beach is family oriented and quiet. It was a perfect stay for our last summer family vacation.
We loved our stay and the house. There was a little welcome packet, clean sheets and towels waiting for us. Location was great, super easy to beach and lots of nice things to do in the very nearby town. I suggest bringing a beach umbrella. Wonderful place to stay. Thank you!
